Chapter 15.
We walk towards the bottom of the stairs and Cody take a deep breath "we have 5 minutes so let’s just head there and we can finish the tour at break time?” I nod and smile "sounds good.” He walks up the stairs and I follow behind him and down the corridor towards the English department "so what's our teacher like?” Cody looks at the ground and shrugs "a teacher.” I laugh softly and shake my head "yeah but all teachers are different.” He looks at me and smirks "all teachers don't like me.” He laughs softly "except the gym teacher.” I nod slowly and smirk "bad student are we?” He looks at me and smirks "noooo.” He rolls his eyes and shrugs "maybe.” He stops outside a door with the name Mr Baldwin on it and I smile "is that our teacher?” Cody looks at the door and opens it "yeah but we call him Mr B.” I walk in as the bell rings and Cody nods towards the back of the class "let’s get a seat before everyone else comes.” I go to the back of the class and he sits down and points towards the chair next to him "these are the best seats.” The teacher walks in with a folder and sticks them on his desk and take a deep breath turning around towards the board and writing on it "Sir?” Cody sticks his hand up and I look at him and shake my head "yes Cody?” The teacher turns around and spots me "oh sorry.” He walks towards his desk and grabs a piece of paper from his folder "class we have a new student.” He looks closely towards the paper and smirks "everyone this is Maisy.” Cody laughs and shakes his head “It's Misty sir.” The class starts laughing and the teacher rolls his eyes “Sorry Misty.” He nods his head and smiles "I’m Mr Baldwin and welcome too Harper High.”
He turns too Cody and shakes his head raising his eyebrow “I hope you’re not leading her astray Mr Sinclaire?” Cody leans back on his chair and smirks "me? Never Sir.” He looks at me and winks "I’m a good boy.” The teacher laughs softly and turns back towards the board "and this is math’s.” I look at Cody and smirk "you got a bad reputation or something?” Cody runs his hand through his hair “nah I am a good boy remember.” He winks at me and I roll my eyes and face the front. Hallway through the class I look out the window and see the cloud turn grey and take a deep breath "looks like It's going to rain again.” Cody looks out the window and nods "I can keep you warm.” I roll my eyes and smirk "I have a jacket in my car.” He leans over towards me and smirks "I have my football jacket in the gym locker if you want that? saves you going to the car.” I smile and nod "I am fine for now.” He sticks his face next too mine and smirks "if you get cold I guess we could cuddle.” I push his face away and laugh nervously “well It's a shame I have a boyfriend.” He rolls his eyes and leans back onto his chair “yeah shame for him.” I look at Cody and see him in a silk and can’t help but laugh. The rest of the morning fly’s in and before I know it it’s lunch time. We leave math’s and walk towards the stairs and Cody nods "I am so ready for lunch.” I smile and nod "I am not hungry so I will pass and grab something later.” we walk down the stairs and towards the cafeteria and he nods towards a table at the back and smiles "there’s my friends.” He looks at me and smiles "let’s go.” I look at the food queue and smile "you not going to get something?” He shakes his head and taps his bag "I have food in here.” He shakes his head and smirks "I am a fussy eater you can so?” He walks forward and I take a deep breath and follow after him towards the table of boys wearing football jerseys. They all look at us when we approach the table and one boy wearing a black leather jacket stands up and walks towards Cody "long time no see.” Cody looks at him and laugh nervously "Dylan?” He hugs him and smiles "It's been too long.” The boy looks at me and smirks "and who may this little beauty be?” Cody looks at me and shakes his head "all right yeah.” He nods towards me and smiles "this is Misty.” Dylan holds his hand out and I shake his hand he kisses my hand winks "nice to meet you.” He smirks and I pull my hand back and smile "you too."
The boy sits back down and Cody nods towards a space across from Dylan and smiles "let’s sit.” I sit down and Cody sits next to me grabbing his bag and pulling out a blue plastic lunch box "you not eat the school dinners either?” Cody looks at me and shakes his head "no my dad makes me sandwiches.” Dylan sits forward and smirks "still picky then?” Cody looks at him and smirks "yeah.” I spot James walking over speaking too one of the girls from the cheer squad looking at me "who is James speaking too.” I nudge Cody and he looks towards them and nods "Hannah's.” I nod and smile "his girlfriend?” Cody's friends laugh and Cody shakes his head "he’s wishes.” He bites into a piece of meat and I shiver when he bites it and I can hear him swallow it "I will be back in a few.” Cody looks at me and smiles "where you going?” I look around and spot an exit "I am just going to call my dad and let him know I am ok.” I stand up and smile "won’t be long.” Cody nods and take a deep breath "good because we have 5 minutes left before the bell goes.” He eats another bit of the meat and I shiver and walk towards the exit at the side of the cafeteria and look back towards the table Cody is at and see Dylan looking at me as I open the door and walk out it closing it behind me. The door leads me out into the football field and I pull my phone out and call my dad who answers after the second ring sounding cheery “hey sweetheart how’s school treating you?” I smile and lean against the stair railing "hey dad yeah It's good.” He take a deep breath in relief and nods "good.” I hear a loud growl and look up to the sky and see the clouds turn grey and hear the school bell ring and I jump "listen dad the school bell just rang so I get too get back inside but I will call you when school is finished ok?” I walk back towards the door and pull it "ok sweetheart see you after school.”
I hang up and realise the door it locked "what?” I pull again and push it but it doesn't budge “typical.” I kick the door and take a deep breath looking around for another way in. I run down the stairs and spot the car park at the side of the building and run towards it and head towards the front entrance but stop when I hear a loud growl coming from behind me at the side of the cars. I look around and spot my car a few cars down from where I am standing now so reach into my bag and grab my car keys still looking around I start running towards my car and stop outside it and freeze when I see a large black wolf standing at the other side of the car park showing of Its large teeth and big black eyes looking right at me. It steps out from the side of a car and walks slowly towards me. I quickly get into my car locking the doors behind me and starting the car engine before sticking it in reverse. I quickly stop when I see the school entrance doors swing open and see Ethan walking out the doors looking around "Ethan?” I look out my windows and see the wolf behind me with Its eyes still locked onto me so I roll down my car window and lean out "Ethan!” He looks over and smiles walking towards me "run!” He looks around and I look out the back window and see the wolf looking towards Ethan before walking towards the trees and disappearing into them. I look back towards Ethan and realise he wasn't there and see him at the passenger side door opening it "what you doing?” I stick my finger towards his lip and he licks it “ewww.” I move my finger and dry it with my dress “what are we doing? why are you hiding in your car?” I look around and take a deep breath “not who we hiding from.” I look at him and cough "what we hiding from.” He looks around and laughs “nothing is here?” I look around and take a deep breath in relief “you must have scared it away.” He looks at me smiling “what did I scare away exactly?” I look at him and laugh nervously “nothing.” He raises his eyebrow and smirks "it sounds ridiculous when I say it in my head never mind out loud.” He smiles and rubs my arm “you can tell me believe me I’ve heard and seen it all in this town.” I look down at my feet and laugh nervously “a wolf.”
I look up and his smile drops and his face goes white "what?” He looks around the car park quickly and holds my hands “are you sure it was a werewolf?” I look at him and raise my eyebrows “yeah I know what a wolf looks like.” I pull my hands away and shake my head "wait I never said it was a werewolf?” He opens his mouth but no words come out before grabbing his phone from his jacket pocket ringing someone “who you ringing?” He sticks his finger against my mouth and I lick it and he smirks and looks at me but quickly looks away and drops his smile when the person on the other line answers “you need to get out to the car park now.” He looks towards the entrance doors and nods "ok see you in a minute.” He locks his eyes onto the doors and after a few seconds they swing open and Grayson runs out carrying a gym bag looking around “what's going on?” Ethan looks at me and smiles “go home Misty.” He opens the car door and take a deep breath "please?” I nod and smile "fine.” He opens the car door and I roll down the window "but I want an explanation later.” He nods and smiles "ok.” He shakes his head "tell whoever is home that you’re sick and just don’t leave the house for the rest of the night ok?” I raise my eyebrows and shake my head “whatever.” His fist tenses up and he shakes his head "I will check on you later.” I shake my head and stick the car in reverse "don't bother.” Grayson runs over towards us and stops at the pavement "Ethan?” Ethan holds his hand up and looks at me "please Misty just do it.” I look at Grayson and shake my head "I got to go.” I roll the window up and reverse out the car park space and towards the car park exit. I drive down the road and shake my head "who does he think he is? telling me not to leave the house.” I scoff and sit up straight "we will see.”
I hear a loud growl and look up towards the sky and see the rain pour down hard hitting against the window hard I turn the windscreen wipers on but they get stuck halfway up the window and I eventually stop at the side of the road when I can’t see anymore "typical.” I grab my phone from my pocket and ring my dad but it goes straight too voicemail "this is not my day.” I fling my head back and take a deep breath. After a few seconds I sit up and undo my seat belt grabbing my jacket in the back seat and open the car door running out into the rain and towards the front of the car. I look around and realise I was only a street away from my grandparent’s house but I grab the windscreen wiper and bend it down but it snaps of and I drop it when I hear a loud growl. I look around me and see a lightning strike the sky "could this day get any worse?” I run back towards my side door and see a car come down the street "stop!” I run towards the side of the road and fling up arms up and down and it slows down and stops behind my car and an older woman gets out the car and runs towards me holding an umbrella "is everything ok?” I show her the windscreen wiper and shake my head “I think I broke it.” She take it from me and smiles "I have the thing for this.” She hands me her umbrella and runs back towards the back of her car and opens the boot. I stand at the side of my car door looking around and jump when I hear a loud growl and look up the road behind me and see the black wolf standing in the middle of it looking down "no!” I run towards the woman but stop at the back of my car when I see the wolf running towards her "run!” The woman looks over the side of the car and shakes his head "what?!” I run towards her holding the umbrella to the side of me and hitting it before it attacks her. I look at her and nod "go!” She closes her boot and runs back to her driver side but falls to the ground and cries in pain "help!” I look at where the wolf was and realise it was gone "no!” I run over towards her and see the wolf biting into the bottom of her leg dragging her along the road towards the wolf "get off!” I hit the wolf with the umbrella again as hard as I can breaking it before flinging it onto the wolfs moveless body before grabbing the woman hand up and opening her car door getting her in safe "go!” She shakes her head looking at the wolf and I nod "just go!” She drives of and I turn back towards the wolf still lying on the ground before running towards my car opening the driver side door.
I get into the car and start the engine but stop when I hear motorbikes coming down the road. I look out the side mirror and see two motorbikes drive down the road and stop behind my car "Ethan? Grayson?” They get of their motorbike taking their helmets of and run towards me I open my door and fall into Ethan's arms as I get out the car and he holds me rubbing my back "It's ok.” Grayson take a deep breath and nods "we need to go Ethan.” I stand up and take a deep breath "you going to be ok?” Ethan moves the hair behind my ears and nods "yeah.” I look at him and smile "I will be fine I only live around the corner.” He nods and smiles "alright then good.” He holds open my car door as I get into it and closes it behind me. I do my belt up and look at Ethan outside the window smiling before starting the engine and driving down the road. I stop when I realise my windscreen wiper is still missing and get out the car and look back to see Grayson and Ethan dragging the black wolf into the woods "Ethan?!” He looks at me with bright black eyes drooping the wolf waking it up and letting it free running of into the woods "what is going on?” I shake my head and get back into my car and drive of down the road trying to see out the window I stop at the corner and get out the car grabbing my bag and run down my grandparent’s street towards their house.
