Chapter 7.
I walk towards the car park grabbing my phone on the way out and ring my dad who answers after the second ring. “Hey dad where are you?” I can hear the sound of my dad’s car driving “I am just pulling into the car park I managed to get away from work too come shopping with you.” I laugh nervously and shake my head "I am finished now.” I open the exit door and see my dad’s car driving up the car park towards me “I see you.” I wave and hang up the phone as he pulls up beside me. I open the car door and get in smiling "hey.” He grabs my bags and sticks them in the back and smiles "hey.” He drives of out the car park "get everything you needed?” I smile and nod "yeah.” He looks towards the back seats and laugh softly "what did you buy?” I look back and smile “just a few things for school and my room to make it feel homelier.” He smiles and nods "good.” He drives into the town and I look around the food restaurants "can we go for lunch? I'm parched.” My dad laughs and shakes his head “parched?” I roll my eyes and laugh softly “yeah.” He laughs softly and shakes his head “not in Posh land anymore.” I laugh sarcastically and roll my eyes "yeah yeah yeah.” I grab my phone and text Cameron back ‘I know but they don’t look the same that much.” I smile and cough "Ethan is cuter’ I bite my fingernail and my dad laughs and looks over “who you texting?” I look at him and raise my eyebrows “huh?” I see him smirking at me and nodding towards my phone “Joe?” I laugh nervously and stick my phone back into my pocket “no.” I sit up straight and smile "I met a new friend actually.” My dad smiles at me and sits up straight “really?” I smile and nod “yeah.” I look out the window and smirk “two actually.” My dad raises his eyebrow and laughs “anyone I will know?” I cough and nod slowly avoiding eye contact “Cameron and Ethan Denver.” My dad chokes and laughs “what? Really?” I look at him and nod “yes why? What's wrong with them?” My dad looks shakes his head and scoffs “nothing I just never pictured you being friends with people like them.” I raise my eyebrows and shake my head “people like them? Cameron sounds nice enough and we are actually going out Monday for food.” My dad nods slowly and smirks “what?” I raise my eyebrows and he shakes his head "nothing.” I sit back and take a deep breath "alright then.”
I lean forward and grab the piece of paper hanging out the glove box and start to read it “what's this?” My dad looks at me and smiles softly “it’s the number of animal attacks in Lovettsville.” I raise my eyebrow and shake my head "where?” He take a deep breath and nods "it’s the next town.” He nods towards the paper and smiles "their sheriff called me a few weeks ago and.” I smile and nod slowly and my dad laughs nervously “never mind I don’t want too bore you.” I laugh nervously and nod “you wasn’t.” I look back at the paper and read through it again "I read about the animal attacks here but was that not years ago?” My dad nods slowly and smiles “yeah but It's happening in the next town right now.” I shake my head and take a deep breath “I hope it doesn’t happen here again.” My dad shakes his head and laughs softly “It won’t plus we have stuff for it if it does.” I nod slowly and smile “good!” My dad sits up straight and smirks “I got a surprise for you actually.” I stick the piece of paper back and laugh nervously "what?” He looks at me and winks "you will love it.” I raise my eyebrows and laugh nervously "if you say so?” My dad slows down and turns into an ally way and parks up into a small car park with 4 car park spaces "where are we?” He parks into one of the spaces and stops the car "we are here.” I look around the square but there’s no doors to the buildings "and where is here exactly?” My dad smirks and nods towards one of the buildings "let’s go.” He gets out the car and I follow him as he walks down a pathway "we are here.” He stops halfway down the path and I look at a big black door with the sign "Slogans?” I look at my dad and smile awkwardly "what's slogans?” My dad rolls his eyes and nods towards the sign above us of 2 pool queue "It's the snooker club.” I raise my eyebrows and laugh softly “I think your idea of fun and mine is a little different dad.” He rolls his eyes and opens the door “come on.” He smirks and nods for me to go in "you will see.”
I step inside the building and follow him up the stairs and through another black door into a bright open space with a bar and a chill out seating area "thought this was a snooker club? I look around and smile "where are the snooker tables?” My dad nods towards the back of the building and smiles "at the back.” I nod slowly and take a deep breath "I don’t even know how to play snooker.” He laughs and nods towards the chill out area “who said you was playing?” I look over towards the chill out area and see a group of boys sitting watching the baseball game on a large TV “wait what?” My dad looks at me and smiles and I shake my head "what are you up too? You know I have a boyfriend right?” My dad rolls his eyes and walks towards the bar “yes I know all about Joe Jackson and believe me the last thing I am trying to do is set you up especially with a boy from this town.” He stands at the bar leaning over it and smirks "I just thought it would be nice if you knew more kids that will be starting school with you since you said earlier that you were nervous that you wouldn’t know anyone.” He nods towards the seating area and smiles "the one with the black hair is Cody.” I look at towards them and see him and smile "ok?” My dad smiles and nods "he’s the son of one of the officers at the station and he said that Cody and his friends usually hang around here so I thought why not come by and introduce yourself?” I take a deep breath in shock and shake my head but before I could get another word in a man calls my dad’s name and he turns around and waves at a group of men by one of the snooker tables at the back of the building "here.” My dad gets his wallet from his pocket and hands me some cash "get yourself a drink and go introduce yourself.” He rubs my arm and smiles before walking towards the group of men leaving me standing myself at the bar.
I take a deep breath and face the bar when a young-looking boy comes over smiling "afternoon.” I smile awkwardly and he nods "what can I get you?” I look at the drinks and smile "just a can of cola please.” He grabs a can of cola from the fridge and I nod towards the kitchen “what food do yous serve?” He smiles at me and hands me a food menu from behind him and I smile and take it "thank you.” He smiles and leans back against the fridge and looks back. I sit down on a chair stool at the bar and look at the menu starters when I hear a voice from behind me “the nachos are nice here but you got too have them with extra cheese on the side so you can dip it in and make it extra cheesy.” I quickly turn around and gasp when I see the boy with the black hair my dad pointed out "what?” I shake my head look back at the menu and he leans over the bar laughing softly “sorry I didn’t mean to scare you.” I look at him and smirk “you didn’t.” He sits down next to me and holds his hand out smirking “I am Cody.” I look at his hand smile “I know.” I shake my head and shake my head "I mean I am Misty.” He widens his beautiful green eyes and smirks “your Alex's daughter?” I laugh nervously and look down “yeah that's me.” He looks at the direction of my dad and smiles “my dad said that he asked him if I could introduce myself and make you feel welcome before you start school.” I take a deep breath and stick my head in my hands embarrassed "I know he just told me there and asked me to introduce myself.” He laughs softly and runs his hand through his hair “dad’s eh.” I smile and nod “yip.” I look over towards my dad and smile "they’re the worse.” He looks back at my dad and nods “your dad’s just looking out for you.” He looks back at me and smirks "he knows It's not easy being the new kid.” I nod slowly and smile pulling my hair behind my ear "I guess It's not.” He stands up and smirks “come on then.” I raise my eyebrows and smile softly shaking my head “Where?” He nods towards the chill out area where his friends are sitting and smiles “come over and watch the baseball game with us.” I look at the TV and laugh awkward “I am not really a baseball fan.” He smirks and shakes his head “then this is the perfect time to become one.” I look at the TV and shrug smiling “fine but along as you buy the nachos.” He nods and I smirk “with extra cheese.” He smiles and winks before looking over towards the bartender. "Nachos when you’re ready Peter.” The bartender walks over and smiles “with extra cheese?” Cody nods and smiles at me “wouldn't have them any other way.” The bartenders nods and smiles at me “I will bring it over.” Cody nods towards the seating area and smiles "ready?” I take a deep breath and smile “as I will ever be.”
I follow him towards the booth and look over towards my dad’s direction and see him smiling at me and sticking his thumbs up at. I can’t help but smile and shake my head. I look back towards the booth where 3 boys are already sitting with their eyes locked onto the TV drinking their beers but the boy in the middle looks over when Cody coughs and smirks towards us nudging the boys at each side of him. The boy closest too us shakes his head and laughs softly "no more shots until there’s a home run.” Cody laughs nervously and down towards the floor shaking his head before looking towards his friends again "not that.” The other two boys looks at Cody and spot me and smiles "hi there.” They all sit up straight and fix their collars before leaning forward smiling "who is she?” They look at Cody and he smiles and looks at me "this is Misty.” He looks back towards his friends and points "Misty this is James. Andrew and David.” They all smile at me and I laugh nervously “nice to meet yous.” Cody rolls his eyes and nods towards James "move over a bit and let the lady in.” James smiles not taking his eyes of me before shaking his head and shoving Andrew and David over making a space for me "thank you.”
I sit down next too James and Cody sits down next to me with his elbow on the table resting his head on his hand smiling at me. "So Misty what brings you too town?” I look over and see Andrew leaning forward smirking. I sit up straight and smile softly "I’ve actually just moved here.” They all look at Cody and smirk and he rolls his eyes and sit up straight "yeah so Misty will be starting Harper High on Monday so I thought It would be nice that she felt welcomed and knew at least a few familiar faces before she starts.” Andrew looks me up and down and smiles “I bet you did.” I look down smiling awkwardly “it was meant too just be a favour for my dad but then I realised she is actually pretty cool.” David raise his eyebrow and smiles “your dad?” Cody laughs nervously and nods slowly “Misty's dad is my dad’s.” He looks at me and laughs nervously "Misty's dad is Alex.” James raises his eyebrows “Alex? as in Lorenzo?” Cody nods and they sit back looking at me smiling “now that would be asking for trouble.” I roll my eyes and smirk “good job I am all about the trouble life then.” They all look at Cody and smirk "damn Cody you got yourself a troublemaker on your hands.” I shake my head and smile “I'm actually taking sorry.” Cody looks at me and raises his eyebrows "really?” I smile and nod "yeah I have a boyfriend back in Hollywood.” Cody laughs nervously and shrugs his shoulders “bummer.” Cody leans forward and smiles taking a drink of his beer “for him.” I roll my eyes and smile nervously as they all watch the TV again I take a deep breath and sit back and face the TV. After a few minutes I take a deep breath and look them smiling "I don't get baseball.” They all turn around and face me and smile "I will explain it to you.” Cody faces the TV again and points towards it “so the batters have 3 opportunities to hit the ball but if they miss it after the third time they get a strike and is out of the game.” I watch the TV and see the batter hit the ball hard and it swings his bat and hits the ball hard and it goes out the park and they all cheer “home run!” David smiles and pulls forward the tray of shots “shot time.” He hands everyone a shot each and nods too me "want one?” I look at the shot and look at the direction of my dad and shake my head "no thanks.” Cody take it and smiles “come on.” He sticks it in front of me and smirks "take a shot with us.” He nods towards the TV and smirks "we take a shot every time they have a home run.” I look at the shot and roll my eyes "so much for I am all about the trouble life.” I smirk and take a deep breath "fine.” I pick up the shot glasses and cheers them in the air “cheers.”
I down the shot and shake my head "what was that?” Cody turns the glass upside down and points to a green mark at the bottom of the glass "that was a sweet apple shot.” He looks at me and smiles "so what did you think?” I nod and smile “it was actually nice.” He smirks at me and winks before turning back to the TV "this is going to be a fun game.” I laugh softly and shake my head before turning back to the TV and continue watching the game. After 10 minutes Peter walks over too us holding two bowls smiling "hey guys.” He sticks the large bowl of nachos and a small bowl of cheese down on the table and smiles at me softly "let me know if you need anything else ok?” I smirk and nod "I will thank you.” He smiles before walking away and going behind the bar. "Wow.” I look at Cody and laugh softly "what?” I grab a nacho and he shakes his head and laughs softly "nothing.” I roll my eyes and shove him before turning back to the TV. James looks at Cody and nods "go get more beers in.” Cody doesn't take him eyes of the TV and laughs "no It's your turn.” I shake my head and smile "I will get them.” I stand up and look at Cody "excuse me.” Cody stands up and lets me out without taking his eyes of the TV. I walk towards the bar and Peter smiles walking over towards me "what can I get you?” I look back at the seating area and take a deep breath "five beers.” He raises his eyebrow and nods "four beers and a coke?” His eyes go behind me and I turn around to see my dad walking towards us "a cola then.” I look back at Peter and he laughs softly and grabs me a can of cola and smiles "I will take the beers over.” I smile and nod slowly "thank you.”
I turn around as my dad approaches me and smile "hey dad.” My dad smiles towards Peter and nods "she being good?” Peter looks at me and smirks "like an angel.” He walks towards the seating area and I look at my dad and roll my eyes "I am always good daddy dearest.” I smirk and laugh awkwardly and he rolls his eyes and take a deep breath "ready?” I look towards the seating area towards Cody and his friends and nod "yeah let me just say goodbye to them lot.” He smirks and nods "alright.” I grab my can of cola and walk towards them smirking "hey guys.” They all look at me and smile "that's me away home.” Peter hugs me and smiles "nice meeting you and your always welcome here.” I smile and nod "thank you.” Cody stands up and goes in for a hug me and spots my dad coming over and holds his hand out instead "well It's been a pleasure and was nice meeting you and I will see you at school on Monday.” I laugh softly and nod shaking his hand "you too and see I will see yous Monday.” My dad walks over and smiles "hope yous lot have been taking good care of my daughter.” I roll my eyes and shove my dad "of course sir your daughter is one of us now.” Cody looks at me and winks and my dad raises his eyebrows looking at the beers and shots lying on the table and nods "guess yous are a better option than her first friend she met.” Cody looks at me raising his eyebrows "don't ask.” I shake my head and take a deep breath "gotcha.” My dad holds his hand out and Cody shakes his hand smiles "thanks for taking care of her.” Cody looks at me and smiles "it was nothing.” My dad take a deep breath and looks at me smiling "ready? we are meeting your grandma and grandpa for dinner.” I nod and smile "bye guys.” I wave and turn around and Cody smirks and sits back down "can’t wait.” I turn around and blush before turning towards the door and speed walk towards.476Please respect copyright.ＰＥＮＡＮＡudAra39ZOY
