Chapter 2.
He drives out the driveway and I grab the remote from my bag and close the large gates behind me and we drive down the road. "So?” He looks at me nervously and smiles “what airport are you flying from again?” I shake my head and laugh nervously “really?” He shrugs his shoulders and smirks “LAX?” I nod and smile "yes.” He nods slowly and laughs “and where is that again?” I open the glove box and grab a magazine "oh my god we are never going to get there.” I nod towards the signs "just follow the signs and we should be there in an hour.” I take a deep breath and smirk "hopefully.” He laughs sarcastically and I smile "that gives me an hour or so too shop around.” He sits up straight and nods “so we will get there in an hour?” I nod without taking my eyes of the magazine and he take a deep breath “ok good.” He places his hand on my knee "so I have an hour left with you before you leave me for a full year.” I stick the magazine down and frown “don’t say it like that.” I hold his hand smile "you can come visit anytime and I will come visit here too plus we can text and call and video chat all the time.” He shrugs his shoulders “I know.” He take a deep breath "but It's not the same.” He smiles and licks his lips "I am going to be so lost without you.” He looks at me and smirks "my best friend.” I smile and squeeze his hand “you can be cute when you want to be.” He looks at me and winks "don’t worry the year will fly in and you will be sick of me when I get back and be begging me to leave again.” He smirks and shrugs his shoulders “probably.” I hit him softly and laugh “hey.” He leans over and kisses me “I am kidding.” He smirks and nods "I will miss you as soon as you leave the car.” I cuddle into his shoulder “me too."
The rest of the drive went by quickly. We talked and laughed and sang songs together and before you knew it. He was coming of the motorway and entering the airport. I look around and take a deep breath "can’t believe we are here already.” He fake smiles and nods "I know.” He pulls into the car park and parks into a space and take a deep breath "let’s go.” He gets out the car and grabs my suitcase "you going to walk me in?” He nods and smiles "of course.” He holds his hand out and I grab my handbag and take his hand we walk towards the entrance. “So what are you going to be doing with your spare time when you are there? apart from missing me.” Joe smirks and nods “apart from missing you? nothing.” I smile and shake my head "I have no idea yet.” I shrug my shoulders and laugh nervously "I haven’t been too Harper Ferry since I was a child so can’t remember what It's even like but probably just chill out.” He laughs sarcastically and shakes his head "wait what?” He grabs his phone and hands me it "search the town and check what it has to offer so I know what to expect for when I come visit and we can even see what there is too do as a date night.” I smile and take his phone "ok let’s see.” I google the town and take a deep breath "oh god wow!” Joe looks at me and laughs nervously “what?” I turn the phone around and show him a bunch of news articles about the town “animal attacks?” He laughs sarcastically and nods “that was over 10 years ago.” I look at the date on the article and see it says 2007. I shake my head and laugh “my bad.” I keep scrolling and smile "here’s something.” I turn the phone back around and smile “they have a wax museum and.” I look at the phone and scroll down "I think That’s about it.” Joe rolls his eyes and holds his hand out “I’m sure you will find something for us to do when you are there and if not then I am sure I can name a few things for us to do.” He smirks and looks me up and down “Joe!” I smirk and shake my head “I am not going to lose my virginity in the town where my dad is the sheriff.” He coughs and laughs sarcastically “your dad is the sheriff?” I smirk and nod “guess you need to be a good girl then.” I roll my eyes and smirk “I always am.” He coughs and nods too the laptop “you sure about that?” He nods towards his phone and smiles "oh look we are here.”
He looks up and sees the check in desk "so this is goodbye?” I frown and nod "I am afraid so?” He take a deep breath and kisses my head “call me as soon as you land ok?” I nod and smile softly “I will.” He hugs me tight and smiles "miss you already.” I scoff and nod "miss you more.” He kisses my lips softly and smiles “I love you.” I pull him into me and kiss him properly “I love you too.” He let’s go of me and I grab my suitcase and head towards the check in desk “passport please.” The woman behind the desk looks down at the computer and doesn’t look at me once. I get my passport from my handbag and hand her it and she scans it and hands me it back “thank you.” She looks at my suitcase and nods "stick your suitcase here please.” I stick my case on the trolley and it disappears into the back. I take a deep breath and look at Joe one more time and smile before heading in. I look at the big screen for my flight and nod "gate 83” I nod and head towards the VIP seating area and sit by the bar and grab my phone from my handbag. I smile when I see a text from Joe "miss you already x.” I smile and take a deep breath and text him back. "Do you have a members card?” I look up and see a woman standing above me "what?” She raises her eyebrows and I smile "yes.” I grab my purse and get my VIP airport card my mum got me and show her it "thank you.” She hands me a food and drink menu "let me know when you are ready to order.” She smiles and walks away. I flick through the food menu and smile and stick it down and grab my phone again "what can I get you?” I look up and see the woman standing over me again holding a notebook "can I have some pancakes and a cola please.” She smiles softly and nods "of course.” She walks away and I grab my earphones from my bag and stick them into my phone and listen to music. I stick my head back and after a few minutes the lady comes back with my pancakes and cola. I take the earphones out and stick them back in my bag and smile "thank you.” She nods and walks away and I dig into my pancakes.
I finish my pancakes and drink my cola “I should head for the plane now.” I place $20 on the table and stand up. I head towards the exit and look around for my gate "gate 83.” I spot it and smile “there you are!” I walk towards it and spot a shop on the way and go in and grab a bottle of water. I spot someone behind me in the mirror by the fridge wearing a black hoodie looking at me. I turn around but no one is there "hmm.” I shake my head and walk towards the tills and pay. I walk out the shop and look around but the person in the hoody wasn’t in take a deep breath "I am probably just imagining it.” I shake my head and head towards gate 83 listening to my music. Once I get to the gate I see people standing in a queue already so I sit down and grab the book from my handbag and start reading it. I read 3 pages into it and I see the queue go down. I read another 3 pages and jump when someone comes over and taps my shoulder "sorry.” I take my earphone out and see a flight steward standing in front of me "sorry miss but the flight is ready to take off.” I look at the queue and see It's gone "oh sorry.” I stick my phone and book back into my handbag and run towards the door "ticket please.” I hand the woman my ticket and smile. I look around and spot the person in the black hoody again at the end of the isle sitting down looking at me but hiding their face “Miss?” The woman places her hand on my shoulder and I jump and shake my head “sorry what?” She smiles and hands me my ticket “your ticket Miss.” I take it and laugh "sorry.” She nods and smiles "that's ok.” I head onto the plane and she closes the door behind me and follow me down the tunnel. I look back towards the door and shake my head "weird.” The flight steward looks at me and smiles "what sorry?” I shake my head and smirk "nothing.” I turn around and speed towards the plane and get on it "do you know your seat number?” I look at my ticket and smile "14A.” She points down the plane and smiles "thank you.” I nod and walk down the aisle and sit on my seat with an empty row. I stick my handbag on the seat next to me and stick one of my headphones in. I grab my book from my handbag and begin reading again.
