As a reader, I'm guilty of doing the very same thing I'm going to talk about, which is almost never leaving a review on stories that I read. For me, it takes a lot to get me to stop and take the time to write out a comment on a chapter I read. I'm awful with it. And perhaps that's my problem. What goes around comes around, I suppose...
Moving on. As a writer, there is nothing more frustrating than writing a story and receiving no comments or reviews on it. It's like...if Harry Potter was published, but no one ever talked about it, never told J.K. Rowling to keep writing the series. Only silence. Hard to imagine, right? Same goes for online stories. Half the reason authors don't update is because they don't think people are reading it.
So, what prompts you to review a story? A certain type of character you can't help but fan over? Settings so detailed you feel you're there? Something different? What could an author do to make you more likely to leave them a critique?1180Please respect copyright.PENANAfHHpPm14pu
Just curious.
