Tyler was the kindest soul I've ever met. His energy was just something to marvel at. He could be relaxed and tired one moment, then jumping up and wanting to go on a crazy adventure the next. Sometimes it was a little dizzying, all the places he wanted to go and things he wanted to do, and it could be difficult to catch up. But I tried my best.
He was always finding something to laugh at, whether it was himself, his jokes (good and bad), or the little things in life that he found humorous. The corner of his eyes would crinkle every time he laughed, and he always hated when I pointed it out. It was so cute, and one of my favorite things about him.
He loved Dark Souls 1, 2, and 3, and half the time he'd be so caught up in his games he'd forget the time. He loved Pokemon, and his dog Jax, and skateboarding. Last year, he went on what he called 'The Great Journey,' a day-long skateboarding venture from one city to another. He had so much fun but hurt his ankle, preventing him from riding his skateboard anymore. He was really heartbroken, but stubborn enough to think he didn't need the brace. He'd wear it when I was around just for my sake, and I always appreciated it so much.
I was able to convince him to cut his long hair, and he looked so cute with it short, but he was always self conscious about looking goofy or stupid, but the only thing goofy about him was how much he worried about small things, and the way he acted silly around those he loved.
His past was never the best. He had no relationship with his father, who left when he was young, but he was always conflicted whether he wanted to meet and talk with him. I regret that he didn't get the chance to decide what he wanted to do.
Living in the rougher area of the city rubbed off on him a little. He got caught up in some drugs and shady things, but after a few near-death encounters and losing close friends, he got out of the business and looked to the future, where he wanted to go into welding, or automotive mechanics.
He loved cars. They were his passion. He had two projects cars he was working on, hoping to restore them and modify them for racing and whatnot. And even if he never really had enough money to do everything he wanted, he continued to plan for what he had in mind, never giving up on completing the cars.
Bleach was his favorite show, and even though he tried getting me to watch it a couple times, it just wasn't for me. I regret not trying harder to enjoy it with him.
I have so many memories of him, and I never want to forget. My pictures, videos, and Facebook posts with her are limited, but the amount of love I feel for him in my heart will never end. His open-mindedness and carefreeness changed my life, and Tyler will forever stay with me.
He was taken too soon in a tragic car accident, taken away by the reckless actions of a teen girl hoping to take her own life. While she still has her life to live, I lost two very good people in my life June 30th, Tyler and a close work friend, Madison. They will always be remembered and close to my heart.
R.I.P My love, and my wonderful friend. I'll see you again someday.
