Am I the only one out there who is relieved that the Avengers franchise is finally over? It was really starting to drag on for awhile and honestly all the hype surrounding it has gotten so exhausting. Sure, it's a giant movie chain and they make good movies but I honestly didn't think they were that spectacular. My favorite of them all is still the very first one. Or the solo movies for the original Avengers members.
I haven't been all that impressed with the solo movies for the 'next generation' of heroes, and I'm in no way interested to see any of the ones that are planned for the future besides Guardians of the Galaxy 3. I'm really hoping Marvel focuses on something else in the future. I'm sure they can figure it out down the line. Now that Stan Lee has passed away, I wonder what they anticipate doing. They'll run out of comic book characters eventually, and grabbing onto any character that shows up in the comics is sure to leave the public feeling burnt out and sick of the franchise after awhile.
The era of superhero movies is drawing to a close, I think. And I'm glad. It was a great run while they lasted, but I think the next new thing should roll around any time now. I'd love to see what else we can do with the medium.
