“So, this is what I know.” Jack caught everyone’s attention. “The entire diary is written in this weird language, so if I can crack it, I can translate the entire thing.” He held up the paper we found in the attic. “And the writings on here that I did not translate are also in the same language as the diary. He paused to let it sink in.
“That means the diary really has to do something with the Pendant,” Hunter observed.
“Yes,” Jack agreed with him. “And the note to Elizabeth was found tucked in the cover.” He looked around at all of us. “I don’t think that’s a coincidence.”
I swallowed, trying to make sense out of what he was implying.
“So, you are saying we should go to Paris?” Elizabeth spoke up quietly.
“I’m not saying anything. That is y’all's department.” Jack stood up and returned to his previous seat beside Hunter, keeping the diary and paper with him.
Everyone turned to Noel to make the call.
She stood up and then turned around, facing the stairs. “Enoch? What do you think we should do?”
The hazy blue line appeared over Noel’s head. I looked around the circle to see if anyone else saw it, but they were too focused on Enoch’s answer. I turned back to Noel, preparing to point it out to everyone, but by then, it was gone.
Enoch took a deep breath. “Unless anyone has a better idea,” he looked away from the stairs and watched for our reaction, “we go to Paris.”
