With college and everything in full swing, I've struggled finding the time to myself to really sit down and type out what's going on in my head. Sure, I have plenty of 'time,' just not the type of time I want.
It can be hard for me to just sit down and pound out a 3,000 word chapter to a story, and I've really wanted to for a long time. I lack motivation and I'm sure all writers experience this. You have the time to do it, but you just can't bring yourself to actually write it.
You lose whatever ideas you've pooled up for awhile as soon as you place your fingers on the keys or place the pencil in your hand. Your mind is elsewhere and you can't focus.
Thankfully I finally found it, the inspiration I needed...The only problem was, it was while listening to my iPod on my way to math class...Great timing, inspiration. Great timing, as usual.
So, of course, I'm only half listening to the professor when I get the urge to write, and because I carry my laptop everywhere with me, I can't help but put the words to page.
I've discovered that inspiration loves to dance at the edge of your memory, and as soon as you reach to take hold of it, it escapes. Half the battle is catching and holding on to that inspiration.1051Please respect copyright.PENANAbcqXy9OPKa
It likes to pop up at the worst times and then won't go away until you actually do something about it. It nags and distracts you from whatever holds more importance at that moment. But, as much as it gets under our skin, we still search for it and love when it's there.
A blessing and a curse.
