Chapter 35.
When we reach the lake house all the lights are on and I see my grandpa’s car outside “my grandpa is here.” Hulk runs of towards the house and we spot Cameron outside with my grandma talking. "Hey!” They turn around and wave "they are back.” My grandpa walks towards the house and Cameron run towards us and hugs me "are you ok?” I smile and nod "I am fine.” Ethan coughs and Cameron laughs softly "give me this.” She take the wheel and walks towards the house with us. My grandma runs out the house and runs towards us cuddling me "where have yous been? We have all been worried sick.” I smile and hug her back “we are fine.” I look at Ethan and smile "Ethan phoned his dad and checked in with him.” My grandma nods and laughs softly “yeah that was over an hour ago.” I laugh and shrug “we have been there since.” Ethan and Cameron head towards the garage and my grandma walks with me towards the front of the house “let’s get you home sweetheart.” I take a deep breath and smile “ok well let me just say bye too Ethan.” She smiles and nods "ok I will go get your grandpa and we will be in the car.” I smile and nod and head towards the garage.
“Ethan?” I walk in the garage and see Ethan's bike and wheel but no Ethan "hello? Ethan?” I turn around towards the house and shake my head and jump when I hear a loud bang at the side of the garage. I go around the side of the garage and check it out and see Ethan walking around the corner “god Ethan!” I take a deep breath and shake my head "you scared me.” He laughs softly and hugs me “sorry I was getting my tools.” He holds up a toolbox and I roll my eyes “I’m going now so I will see you tomorrow?” He kisses me and smiles “ok. Text me when you’re in.” I nod and hug him "I will.” He nod towards the garage and laugh softly "let me know how you get on with your bike and if you don’t get it fixed by tonight I will get you tomorrow before school and give you a ride again.” He nods and smirks “ok.” I see my grandma and grandpa getting into the so "I should go.” I hug him and take a deep breath "bye.” I smile and run towards my grandmas car and look back waving “bye.” I get into the car and see Hulk sleeping in the back seat "some ones sleepy.” I look at my grandma who is smirking at me "what?” She shakes her head and smiles "nothing.” She starts the car and drives towards the exit and I look out the window closing my eyes and feel myself drifting of too sleep.
I open my eyes and see my grandpa shaking my leg "Misty?” I look around see us pulling into the driveway "we are home.” I yawn and stretch and get out the car letting Hulk out after me. I walk into the hallway and look around "where’s dad?” My grandpa walks into the living room and sits on the sofa "work.” I nod and take a deep breath "I am going to head upstairs and call it a night.” I yawn and smile "night.” My grandma smiles and nod "night sweetheart.” I walk up the stairs and Hulk follows me and walks into my room jumping on my bed. I head into the bathroom and run a bath and walk back into the bedroom and get cleans pjs and walk back into the bathroom closing the door behind me.
I come out the bathroom with my towel wrapped around and head and sit on the bed and start towel drawing my hair when my bedroom door opens "you awake?” My grandma pops her head in and smiles "yeah.” I stand up and stick the towel in the washing basket and she walks in and sits on my bed "are you.” She laughs softly and take a deep breath "are you and Ethan being safe?” I laugh nervously "grandma!” She shakes her head "what? are you?” I shake my head and smile "no.” She raises her eyebrows and shakes her head “what?” I laugh nervously and shake my head “we haven’t even done anything yet.” She take a deep breath and laughs softly nodding “ok good.” She looks at me and smiles "well when you do you know make sure yous are being safe.” I nod and laugh nervously “noted thanks grandma.” She smiles and nods "good.” She stands up and walks towards the door "I am going to order pizza if you get hungry come down ok?” I smile and nod "thanks grandma.” She walks out the door closing it behind her.
I lie down on the bed and take a deep breath "pizza sounds good.” I smile and stand up and walk towards the door and head down the stairs. I see my grandma in the living room holding the pizza menu on the phone so I walk into the kitchen and see my dad sitting at the table with a box and paperwork in front of him "hey dad.” He looks up and smiles "hey honey.” I sit down and nod "what you doing?” He nods towards the box that reads 'open case' and take a deep breath "I just need to go over these animal attacks and file of the ones that Edmund told me would have been caused my mystical creatures.” I stand up and walk towards the fridge grabbing a bottle of water “so how many of them where caused by mystical creatures so far?” He sits back and take a deep breath “all of them so far.” I sit across from him and shake my head “that’s terrible.” He nods and smiles “I know honey but that’s why we are here, to help stop as many as we can.”
He looks at his watch "I am going back to the station honey but I will see you tomorrow? are you still up for spending the weekend in the log cabin?” I smile and nod "yeah I will pack tomorrow after school and meet you there?” My dad looks up and shakes his head “you not wanting to take the day of tomorrow?” I shake my head and smile "no I just want to get back too normal and school is the only normal thing in my life right now.” He smiles and nods “If you’re sure then fine I can’t stop you but take this.” He stands up and walks towards the painting of fruit on the wall and take it off the wall "what is it with everyone keeping things behind paintings.” He smiles and opens a safe behind the painting "your grandpa build it after that weekend he got attacked.”
He take out a small black box and hands me it "here.” He places the painting back on the wall "what is it?” He take the box and opens it "a bracelet?” He nod and take a silver bracelet and a purple hear charm out “what's so special about it?” He sits back down and smiles “there’s wolfsbane in it.” I shake my head and give him it back "I can’t take it. It can hurt Ethan.” He looks at me and raises his eyebrows “and Grayson and Cameron?” I laugh softly and nod "yeah them too.” He rolls his eyes and take a deep breath "at least keep it with you so I worry a little bit less.” I nod and smile "fine but just so it makes you happy.” I place the bracelet in my pocket and my dad smiles and looks down towards the case files "thank you.” He looks up and smiles "you want to do the log cabin this weekend since we didn't do it that weekend?” I smile and nod "yeah maybe I can bring Ethan?” He rolls his eyes and looks down "personally I think that Ethan needs to stay away.” He looks at me and shrugs.
