I sigh, hauling books onto a desk. “Here..” The alpha looked up from his papers and I crossed my arms. “What..?” He narrowed his eyes. “What is this..?” I look between him and the stack of books. “The books you asked for..?” He wrinkled his nose slightly. “And why are they on my desk..?” I stare at him for a moment. Trying to see if this was some trick question. He let out a sigh. “Did I do something wrong..?”
“Did you..?” He tangled his fingers together. I wrinkle my nose a little and he stood up. He sighed softly and moved out from behind the desk. I took a step back but he just kept walking towards me.
“Enya, this is you're problem. You're supposed to ask for orders. But you..you act on things just because you want to..”
“So?” I cross my arms. “So? Your in a pack. I am you're alpha. Everything you do has to come through me first..!” He snapped softly. I pinch my arm.
“So what? I have no freedom of speech? I’m not allowed to act on my own behalf?” I shot back. His eyes flickered and his lip twitched. “No.” It took everything in me to not grind my teeth together. I stop backing up and hold his gaze. I was not going to back down..alpha or not this is absolutely ridiculous.
I am a being. I breathe, I talk. I can fucking think on my own. I do not need someone - especially a man to tell me what I should or should not do. “Lower. You're. Eyes.” I force back a growl.

No..not right now..I’m on a mission. I cannot let myself forget that. I clench my jaw and look away. Flexing my fingers. I need to gain his trust so I can figure out the truth. Alpha nods sharply. “Good..you're finally behaving..” he turned and headed back to his desk. I mentally choke him out. “Why. Why do you want me to be your guard?” I ask quickly. Storming after him
He sat down with a heavy sigh. “Because I see potential..”
“Bullshit..” I blurt. “Think however you like but it’s true..” he rested his chin on the back of his hands while looking me over in a way that made me feel disgusting. “You're a very strong girl Enya..some people say too strong..but not me..” he leaned back, meeting my eyes. “I’ve seen what you do. I’ve seen you're abilities. As have others. And where others see a threat I see potential..I see an opportunity..an alliance..”
“Alliance? Alliance for what? Hm? I’m already part of your pack..” I cross my arms. “True. But you don’t want to be a beta..nor do you want to be part of this pack” I flinched and felt my face burn.
“W-what? I never said I didn’t want to be apart of the pack-“
“Oh? Than why do you act like it?” He questions. “Hanging around a man like Marca..? Rejecting your rightful place as beta? Going against my orders? The orders of your alpha? The orders of you're father?” Marca..? What does Marca have to do with this?
“Not once have I seen you participate in any pack events. Sure..you hunt every now and than but that’s not enough..” He explained. “and don’t get me started with you and that vampire boy..” he chuckled and I flinch and felt like my body was drained from blood. “H-how did you..”
“Enya..” he tilts his head. “I’m an alpha. I have connections..I know things..” I look
Him over for a moment.
Or he knows Theo..and Theo fills his ear. I clench my jaw before crossing my arms again. “You mentioned Marca..what does my brother have to do with this?”
“He has everything to do with this."
He leaned forward. “You're brother is shielding you, shielding you from you're true power..” my brows scrunched but he went on. “Do you know why..I chose you to be a guard..? To be my guard? Hm?”
I fix my posture and just shrug. Already over this conversation. “Because I’ve seen what you can do..you're powers..you're ability. It’s like no other. All you have to do is wish pain on someone and they receive it.” It’s not that simple. I just don’t think it. But he went on.
“And, to top that off you're resilient. you're brave..smart..you're everything a soldier needs to be..”
“But I don’t want to be a soldier..I never had any experience in it..”
“No..but you do..” I couldn't help but wrinkle my nose. “You may not think so but deep down..you do..but you also know how to hunt..you know how to kill..” I slowly swallow while looking around the room before looking back towards him. “Am I wrong..? Hm? I've seen you kill enemies-“
“Stop..” his brow raised. “Excuse me..” I eye him for a moment.
I pull up a chair and sit down. He opened his mouth to speak but I stopped him. No offense. But I’m not interested..you've been talking non stop and I’ve only managed to cling on to a few.
“L-look..alpha..I understand why you’d want me..I do…but at the same time..I don’t.” He didn’t say anything. He just reached forward, grabbed a glass cup and poured himself a drink. He offered me one but I wrinkle my nose. “I’m under aged..”
He gave me a smuggled grin. “Never stopped anyone.” I fought the urge to question him. I just widen my eyes and sigh, leaning back. “Anyway..” I draw out, pushing the cup away from me. “What do you want from me..? Seriously. What? To be your personal killer? just to guard..? To do you're dirty work? Because I honestly have no clue. I don’t..you mentioned an alliance. What’s that about..?”
He took a long sip of his drink. He then laid his head back, twirling his liquor in his cup. He then raised a hand towards me. “I want you to do my dirty work..to be my guard..if I need someone to die you rule it out. You use your powers to make it happen.” I scrunch my brows together. Not even hiding the fact that this bothered me.
“Why? Why me? I’m not even graduated yet..”
“Why not you..? You got The skill. You got the powers for it. You're pretty enough to not have people think twice of you being the killer. You're young enough to the point where you have the energy..the flexibility..” I don’t push past the fact that his eyes raked over me.
I clench my jaw so I wouldn’t twist it or- growl at him. “I would’ve chosen Marca but he's unhinged. Too..erratic. I don’t trust him..I don’t want him.” What..? How can you…I grip the chair. I slowly looked away as he talked. “And he doesn’t have what I need,” he shrugged. “I need your powers. Plain and simple..”
“So you're wanting to use me..”
“Use you..no..” he took another sip. “I want an alliance. You work for me, and I help you bust the killer of you're brothers murder..”
Leon’s POV
I sat on my bed..staring at the picture of my father. I lived on the lowest floor of the pack house. It wasn’t anything bad but I honestly would’ve loved better. I frown before rubbing my face when I got summoned by the alpha. I stand up, fix my clothes and head out. It was a long way up..so I told him I’d be there as soon as possible.
