Rohan sat on a chair across from the red-eyed girl, Sapphire. They moved from the Tweedy's building to a nearby cafeteria where the young Tweedy decided to speak to him while Chántel took Jesselyn back to the ship.
"You really shouldn't have brought Jesselyn back here, at least for our parent's sake."
"Why?" Was the only question the dark-haired man could ask after listening to her words.
The lady let out a deep breath before leaning forward. "Do you have any idea what my family went through since she disappeared ten years ago?"
"She was taken and lied to by the STATE, we both were."
"I know, we all know what happened to the six children that mysteriously disappeared from their home and family, everyone knows the truth, even the Ice cream parlor owner ten years ago saw the agents… but why do you think no one talks about it?"
"There were other reports from other parts of Zoda as well, worse from the West, and many have attempted to forward it to the region Police, but they all eventually dropped the case and moved on."
She continued. "My father is also among these many, but he was hell-bent and insisted that the officers start an investigation or he'll take the matter to Zoda's Head Department of security. He did, but when he left for the ZHDS, he too disappeared, we couldn't find him for a month, then he eventually returned home and he has never been the same since then…" her voice turned teary and she stuttered as she spoke. "After he died, we received a huge sum of money, it was as if they were paying us for his life."
The runaway agent dug his hand into his dark hair and sighed in frustration. "Jesselyn and I were told that our parents sold us to the STATE, for a greater good they said."
"They gave us some kind of drug that made us forget how they took us from our home, but eventually, we remembered." The dark-haired man paused as the barista approached them and set two cups on the table.
"Jesselyn tried so hard to convince me that we are being manipulated… but I was too foolish and didn't listen. And because of me, she's in the condition she is now."
Sapphire nodded understandably. "I understand. But you also have to understand, we are all a slave to the STATE and Miss Havishma."
The dark-haired man froze for a second, staring at the girl in front of him speechlessly. His eyes widened and he immediately got up from his seat and shot out a wave of Electricity just in time to block a missile that was fired at them from the large window beside them.
The missile collided with the electricity and exploded, sending Rohan and everyone around flying back.
The dark-haired man picked himself up and turned to the direction the missile came from. He narrowed his eyes as he locked eyes with Electro 28 who just got down from one of the many space cars parked outside the cafeteria.
Electro 28 walked towards one of the agents around. "Move every civilian away from the area and set up a parameter," he started. "I want an energy shield encircling this whole area."
"Copy that, captain."
"Everyone, be sure to load your weapons with the neutralizer, it might not work, but still... Shoot on sight, do not hesitate, you'll die if you do," he paused and slipped a gas mask over his head, matching that of the other agents around. "This is as quiet as we can be against that monster."
The agents nodded and moved forward, tactically taking their position. More agents dropped down from their cars and equipped their weapons before moving to their positions. They all waited patiently until the energy shield was placed before they unhesitatingly opened fire at the location where the former Storm 01 was last sighted.
The dark-haired man engulfed himself in his electricity and flew out through the roof of the building. He landed with a small explosion in their middle which sent them flying back.
Rohan moved extremely fast, so fast that the Department H agents couldn't grasp his location even after they were knocked out. He grabbed one of the agents and hurled him into the energy shield above and sent another agent flying with a punch.
The agents continued to rain shots at their target but none of them could get a clear shot.
Electro 28 climbed to the top of one of the space cars and aimed a huge strange-looking gun at the blue-eyed agent. Though the dark-haired Weir was moving fast, Anthem could catch his movement as he looked through the scope, it was as if the weapon had reduced the frame skip.
The electro agent grinned before pulling the trigger at Rohan. The dark-haired Weir stopped and caught the huge bullet then turned to the direction it was fired from, pointing at Joe.
Electro 28 gave him a thumbs up before taking out another bullet to load the gun. As if on cue, the bullet Rohan was holding released a massive amount of blue smoke, blocking the dark-haired man's vision and his other senses eventually, leaving him only able to feel the bullet he was holding.
"Crap," the wanted agent groaned while looking around but couldn't see, or hear, anything around him.
As he struggled to find his balance, he felt a piercing pain in his thigh but it was gone as quickly as it happened.
He turned but felt another pain in his back, causing him to spin. The cut and pain continued from his thigh, back, chest, shin, shoulder, and even neck.
The dark man somersaulted and attempted to shoot using his abilities but nothing happened. "Neutralizer? Thought I was immune?" He got up on his feet and made his battle stance, not making any action even after the blade cut open his flesh.
A while later, electro 28 drove a longer sword through Rohan's abdomen but the latter only groaned softly while grabbing the former's hand. "Got you."
The active agent tried to pull away but Rohan's grip was tight on his wrist.
The dark-haired man threw a punch in the location he assumed his opponent to be and he caught Joe cleanly in the face. He pulled him back and threw another punch, forcing a groan from the agent.
Electro 28 pulled out his dagger and severed his hand which his opponent had held before jumping back to create space between them.
The smoke cleared and the dark-haired man could now see again. He looked at the electro-agent to see him without an arm. The agent slipped his dagger into his belt. He took off the gas mask and tactical vest he was wearing, leaving his bare chest before ripping out the remaining part of the artificial arm.
Rohan attempted an attack but the neutralizer seemed to still have little effect on him as his movement was slow, giving chance for his opponent to evade the attack and create space between them.
Rohan only conclude that it was a new type of the Neutralizer as he was sure he was using his abilities through it earlier.
The electro-agent took out a round, flat device and placed it on the severed arm. It only took a few seconds for a new arm to morph out from the device.
"Squad Captain Anthem," the dark-haired Weir started. "Twelve years and you are still a Squad captain, aren't you ashamed?"
The active agent pulled out his dagger and a small cylindrical device among six others from an equipment case that was wrapped around his thigh. "I requested to stay that way, for times like this."
He morphed into his fighting pose.
