*The Underground, Winter Weir*
A space train flies past a billboard at immense speed, causing the billboard to spin multiple times. It moved at a high speed that left trails on the ground. The train changed lanes, blasting its way through an abandoned building.
A man wearing a gas mask stuck his head out through a small opening at the top of the train. He took out a machine gun and opened fire at a person that was flying after the train with a jet pack.
The target let himself fall downwards and just as he was about to hit the ground, he blasted himself forward, getting closer to the train. "Guys, I need backup," the man said into his comms.
A window on the train slid open, giving way for another masked man to jump onto the back of the jet pack rider, causing him to lose balance.
The masked man punch the rider in the face as they both struggled in midair. The rider held the man's hand before he could land another punch. He tried to knock the masked man off but the said person skillfully crawled his way to the rider's back.
The train disappeared out of view as the two continued to struggle in midair. The rider flew up higher in the sky trying to shake the masked man off but he doesn't let go.
The masked man pulled out a gun and shoot a hole in the jet pack before letting himself fall while showing his middle finger at the rider.
"Shit!" The rider cussed as he tried to remove the jet pack. "Guys, help, my shit is holed." He managed to remove the jet pack before it exploded.
Another rider appeared and grabbed the man's hand before he hits the ground. "You sure took your time getting here, Jesselyn."
"A 'thank you' will suffice, unless you know how to fly."
Two other riders appeared by their side. "Now everyone decided to come," the first rider stated.
"I swear I'll drop you, Steve," Jesselyn threatened.
One of the riders flew close to Steve. Jesselyn held on to his collar as he takes off his jet pack and passed it to Steve. "You'll need that more than I do," he said before diving downwards.
"Show-off. I swear that guy always shows off. That's why no one likes him."
"Focus guys, we don't wanna lose the train," Rain 01's voice warned through the comms.
Rain X controlled his fall using his electrokinesis. He landed on the train and shoot a ball of electricity at the man who was sticking his head out.
He placed his hand on the train, releasing a massive amount of electricity onto it. The train made a loud mechanical hiss before falling to the ground with a thunderous crash.
The three other Rain Troopers landed on the ground. Steve took off his helmet and used his hand to mess up his orange hockey hair. "You did that for show didn't you?" The light-skinned man queried.
Rain X also took off his helmet, letting his dark hair fall down his shoulder. "Falling from that high in the sky onto a steel metal ain't show mate."
Cake hissed and bumped past Rain X. "The mission isn't over, stop screwing around." He walked over to the train and started cutting a hole open with a laser from his knuckle.
Rain X glared at him for a moment before turning to Steve. "I think you are right, he hates me."
"Everyone hates you."
The moment Cake finished making the hole in the train, a hand stuck out through the hole and grabbed him by the neck. A huge and hefty man walked out of the train and stomp the agent on the ground.
The man charged at Jesselyn who was closer to Cake. Though he was huge and wore heavy armor, he was able to move quickly. Before she could react to his advance, he hits her with a right jab that sent her stumbling to the ground.
Steve's mask covered his face as he pulled out his gun and aimed it at the man. The man moved in a zigzag, even moving his body in a sideways rotary motion, which made it difficult for Steve to get a clean shot.
"Dammit," Steve cussed furiously as he struggled to aim his gun. The man catches Steve's face with the side of his right foot, sending him too into the ground.
Immediately the man turned back, Rain X jumped him with an uppercut coated with electricity. The man staggered backward and puts his hand up to defend against the next attack.
Rain X cornered the man on the train as he continued to hammer him with punches, dodging or hitting away whatever attack the man threw at him. He covered his hand with electricity to land his final punch but got interrupted by a throbbing pain in his head. His vision turned pitch black with only Miss Havishma standing in the middle with a gun in her hand. It disappeared and he was back in reality. Rain X was now on the ground with the man sitting over him and dropping heavy punches on his face.
Rain X shoots a bolt of electricity at the man, sending him flying back into the train. He hits the train with a low thud and lands on the ground, motionless.
Rain X stayed on the ground for a few seconds before rising to his feet. "Are you okay?" He queried as he helped Jesselyn to her feet.
She removed her helmet and flashed him a smile. "My jaw still aches, but I'll be fine." She walked over to the man on the ground to cuff his hands.
"Call the extraction team," Rain 01 ordered before stepping into the train with Steve.
Rain X sat on the ground next to Jesselyn and exhaled loudly. "You look tired," Jesselyn stated as she searched the man's body.
"Well yeah, we've been out here in the underground for more than a week chasing after trains. A mission that a newly recruited officer could handle."
Jesselyn chuckled softly. "Well, I did tell you that being a Rain agent is boring."
"If someone had told me that this was what I'll go through if I joined the Rain squad, I would have run away from HQ," Rain X laughed.
Jesselyn turned to look at the dark-haired man "But?"
Rain X furrowed in confusion. "But what? There are no buts. I would have run away from HQ, period."
Jesselyn placed her hand on her chest and scoffed. "There should be a but. You would have run away from HQ BUT you are glad that you did join because you get to hang out and go on missions with me, your friend."
"I am glad that I'm here with you. You are not the problem Jess, these missions are," Rain X mumbled with a smile.
Jesselyn tucked a stray hair behind her ear as she laughed. "Have I mentioned that I love your hair?"
"You have now…"
"Not the beards though, they make you look weird, get rid of them" Jesselyn laughed.
They both rise to their feet as the extraction team's ship came into sight. Steve and Cake exit the train both holding onto each side of a large box. "We are done here, let's head back to HQ," Cake stated.
"Finally, what an awful week it has been. One of these days I'll give Chief a piece of my mind," Steve barked as he walked into the spaceship.
Jesselyn ran up to Rain X. "So what's your plan for next week?" She queried.
"Next week? I don't know, if I'm not on another mission then I'll probably be in my pad. Why'd you ask?"
"It's your birthday next week silly…"
"Huh?"
