The dark-haired man and Jesselyn stepped into a car which drove them out of the port of Earth. He sat in the backseat along with Jesselyn while Yvonne sat beside the driver as the car drove through the roads of Earth.
It was different, everything about the new planet was different from their home planet. There were no spaceships or buildings in the air, everything was more grounded.
The dark-haired man looked out the window and shut his eyes, letting the new feeling and weather warm up to him. His mind and thoughts have been shattered into pieces from the recent events.
"So, how are you feeling?" Yvonne queried, turning back to face the two former Department H agents.
Jesselyn glanced at the dark-haired man before shooting the Earthling a soft smile. "The weather is nice, it's a different feeling from what I am used to."
Yvonne smiled. "I was actually asking about how you were holding up after everything that happened with your planet, but it's nice to know you're adapting well to the weather."
"Is it always this hot?" Jesselyn questioned.
"No, it's summer now, that's why."
"Summer?"
Yvonne nods. "Oh god yes, I'm so gonna enjoy explaining about our planet to you," she paused for a second before speaking again.
"So on Earth, we have four different seasons, and in some special cases five: Summer, autumn, spring, winter, and we call the special case abstry."
"It's a time of the year where the weather becomes entirely unpredictable, one second it's raining, and the next it's super hot or cold, mostly happens in the West."
Jesselyn smiled and glanced out the window. "That's nice. In Winter Weir it's always cold, we don't get a change."
Yvonne smiled and nodded like she didn't already know about it. Their conversation started awkwardly but switched to a better topic where the dark-haired man was forced to drop a few words.
Eventually, the car entered through a large gate and stopped in front of a mansion. The mansion was built simple. It was as if no effort was put into it but yet it still appeared beautiful with the black and white paint on it.
Yvonne exited the car and stood in front of the building with her hands wrapped around her chest. The other two also exited the car and stood beside the Earthling.
"It's nothing fancy, so you have to manage. We were barely able to clear it up for you," she stated.
The dark-haired man looked at the mansion and then at Yvonne who met his eyes. She immediately understood what the dark-haired man was aiming at and smiled brightly. "I wish this wasn't the first place you see here on Earth, such a terrible first impression," she said.
"What are you saying? This is a really big place for just two people."
"Maybe after you've rested up I'll show you to my favorite place," the dark-haired woman said while eying the former Storm agent.
"Sure, why not?"
"It's a date then."
She took out a key card from her pocket and unlocked the door, giving way for them to enter the mansion. Starla gave them a quick tour of the place before seeing herself out, leaving the two alone.
The dark-haired man stood in the middle of the room he picked for himself. Just like the outside of the house, it was simple: a bed, a wardrobe with a desk all arranged around.
He opened the wardrobe to browse through the clothes. "Oh my," he exclaimed as he searched through the clothes. They were mostly suits and formal wear with only a few that he believed he could wear in the hot planet. He took out black sweatpants and a grey jacket before stepping into the bathroom for a quick shower.
A few moments later, the dark-haired man made his way down the stairs to meet his friend. At first, he thought it was going to be difficult to find her because of the many rooms in the house. But immediately he stepped one foot on the ground floor, he was given the location of her whereabouts by the strong smell of burnt food.
He rushed into the kitchen to see Jesselyn trying hard to dissolve the smoke that clouded the entire room.
"What happened here?" He queried, drawing her attention.
She turned to face him with a disappointed look on her face. "I can't cook." She pouted.
The dark-haired man raised his brows sarcastically. "I can see that," he said, waving his hands around the place.
"I thought if I followed the steps online I'd be able to, but apparently I'm just really terrible at cooking."
"You were following the steps online but still couldn't cook anything?"
Jesselyn turned to the dark-haired man with a frown plastered on her face. "Are you going to make fun of me all day, or you are going to help me?"
The dark-haired man shook his head before opening a nearby window for the smoke to dissolve out through.
"Well, that's something I know now that I do not know how to do, and a task to add to my to-do list: learn to cook," she said with a small smile.
He turned to her. "Why would you want to learn to cook though?" He queried. "You could just -- order the food and it'll be brought right to your door steps."
Jesselyn hissed. "Nah. As a child, my parents were business people so they were gone in the morning, very early, and only returned late at night. And since we were all fixated on studying and school, we never had time to learn to cook, so we relied on ordering from a nearby restaurant. It was terrible and I was forced to turn to junk food."
"Hence why I do not eat at restaurants, they never get the taste right... In my opinion at least."
The dark-haired man leaned his back on one of the counters in the kitchen, such that he was facing Jesselyn who struggled to clean up her mess. "Well, personally I see no problem with eating at a restaurant or their fast food."
"My dad doesn't even bother with cooking, it's all I take every day of the year." He moved forward and took a nearby cloth to clean the counter while speaking. "But hey, we've got plenty of time on our hands from now, so maybe we could practice cooking together."
Jesselyn's face instantly lights up. "Really? You'd want to learn to cook with me?"
"I mean, it's a good means to pass time."
"How about we start now?" She probed. "It's like you said, we've got plenty of free time, and this place is packed with food items, so why not now?"
Before the dark-haired man could answer, the doorbell rang, distracting him from the question. "I'll get it," he said before walking out of the kitchen.
"Oh," the dark-haired man exclaimed as he opened the door to see Ada staring back at him.
"What? Why do you look like you've seen your ex-wife?" She wore a blue T-shirt with black jeans. Her red curly hair was now tied down.
"Who's at the door?" Jesselyn yelled from the kitchen.
"It's Ad…"
"Andy?!" A familiar voice yelled out from behind the red-haired woman, and the source of the voice pushed past Ada to stand in front of the dark-haired man.
His eyes widened in shock as he realized who it was. "H-Hailey?"
