*Storm Section, Department H*
"Rise and shine agents. The Weirs down at Winter Weir are already soaking up their faces in the cold snow, get outta your bed already." A broad husky voice penetrated Storm 01's sleep.
He was asleep but he could hear the voice like it was directly close to him. Which was weird because his pad's door should be locked, and the sound shouldn't be that close. He opened his eyes to find a tall and huge man standing over his head with a disappointed look all over his round face.
Without thinking, Storm 01 blasted a ball of electricity at the man who easily moved to the side, letting the attack fly past him.
"Holy mother of HIM, watch where you shooting at agent."
Storm 01 quickly got off the bed and scanned the man over again, but this time with sense in his head. The man wore a black collared shirt and trousers, with the Electro squad badge resting on his left chest. His blonde hair was shaved low, and he had tight-framed black glasses over his eyes. The man in full was looking scary.
"A-apologies?" Storm 01 said, but it came out as more of a question.
"Whatever. Now get your weak ass off that bed. Put something on and join me outside," the man yelled.
Storm 01 looked around the place. The door was wide open as if he didn't lock it when he entered last night, and now he has a huge crack in the wall from the electric blast he shot. He watched as the man heavily strode out, yelling at the top of his voice to wake the others.
He walked into the bathroom and splashed some warm water on his face before putting on his uniform. He walked out of the room and jogged over to the training hall hoping to get his system running with the little stretch.
Every other Storm troopers were already there in the training hall, all looking worse than he was. They were all murmuring and swearing at the man. He barged into their rooms yelling the sun was out when it was only two in the morning.
Some window-sized boxes were arranged patiently in the middle of the room. They all had the Q.R.C. logo printed on them. The man entered the hall, his steps echoing with every step he takes. "Alright. Line up, agents. Do you know who I am?" He questioned. His voice was even louder than his steps, it sounded like he had a microphone on him.
One of the storm agents stepped forward. "How are we supposed to know? You somehow gained access to our rooms and woke us all up in the middle of the night."
The man turned to the agent that spoke. He walked a few steps closer before speaking. "I am the Squad leader of Team 4 of the Electro squad, Ace McClain, code name Electro 44. Praised by the last Prime. And received a medal of honor from the People, rejected the badge to become the head of the Electro troopers," he stated. "I'll let you figure out how I got access to your rooms." As he spoke the last words, his eyes held that of the man that spoke back at him.
"Why are we out here sir?" Percy asked the question that everyone's been thinking.
"Oh, right, that," Ace stated, but with a slightly calmer voice than his usual. "Miss Havishma couldn't come to see your pathetic faces, so she sent me here to represent her and coach you through the last bullet competition."
"Last bullet competition?" Storm 01 repeated
The man noticed they didn't know what he was talking about. He groaned as he realized he'd have to explain it all to them.
"Well, the last bullet competition is the last training before you new heads become an official squad of Department H," he started. "During the last bullet competition, the newly created squad will get stormed by five members of the other squads and the new squad have to fight back. So you shitheads being the new squad, you are about to get served." He stopped and walked over to the boxes.
He picked up one of the boxes and opened it up, revealing what was in it. The box was filled with different chips and some other equipment. The chips were all of different shapes. They each have some designs on them. Ace took out a squared chip with a diagram of a helmet carved into it. He placed it on his wrist and it immediately turned into a watch, and with a double tap, the watch made a soft mechanical sound and turned into body armor that covered his entire body. The armor had the same design as the Storm troopers' uniform.
"Whoa," they all exclaimed.
"You'll use the types of equipment in these boxes for the training. Don't worry about dealing damage on your opponent, the body armor and weapon you'll use are made for each other. But after a couple of damage accumulated, the armor shuts down and you won't be able to move."
Ace took out another chip that turned into a gun with one click. He flipped it and handed it over to Storm 01 who collected it with a confused look.
"Shoot at me," Ace ordered.
Storm 01 hesitated for a couple of seconds before pulling the trigger at Ace who only groaned and shift back a little as the laser hits his chest.
"There's obviously a system to monitor how much time you have left before the suit shuts down," he explained.
Ace taps on the watch and the suit disappeared back into the chip. "Do not take the suit off During the competition or you'll end up taking direct damage from attacks... That'll still be calculated as damages taken on the suit by the watch." He placed it back into the box and put it away. "Don't worry, you'll learn all about the chips later."
"And when does this last bullet begin, sir?" Storm 01 asked.
"Anytime from next week. Let's just say right now you are undergoing the last bullet training course," he replied. "I'm going to beat your asses into shape until then. We start with the VR training."
Just as he uttered the word VR, some members of the White squad entered the room while dragging the VR setup.
"I'm only selecting five of you for the last bullet, and the rest will have to sit back and watch. So you do your best in the VR training and I'll watch and select the five I think did better." Ace pulled up a chair as he spoke and sat on it. "Storm 01!"
Storm 01 turned to look at Electro 44. "You can't use your zapping powers at the last bullet competition so access to your powers in the VR training will be denied."
"Why not?"
"Orders from above."
He nodded and marched over to the VR stand along with the other Storm troopers. The White agents helped him equip the VR set.
"Why can't we just have a day to rest? I'm exhausted?" Sox said to Storm 01 as she also positioned herself into her stand.
He shoots her a tired look. "There's no rest for a D.H. agent."
"As there isn't for the wicked." She smiled and slipped her headset on.
Storm 01 couldn't help but let a half smile linger on his face before putting on the VR headset. At first, it was pitch black, then a bright white dot appeared and it blinded him for some seconds and when it cleared, he found himself in a modern city that looked like Winter Weir, but most of the buildings has been reduced to rubbles while others were missing some part and on fire.
He noticed he was wearing the suit Electro 44 had on. He tightened his grip on the same gun and swallowed, it all felt real.
The sky was bright red. Storm 01 could feel everything around him. The cold air that was made a bit warm due to the continuous burning flames all around, the smell of the smoke from the fire, and the continuous sound of spaceships flying ahead of him at full speed. He could feel them all. All of it was as if it were all happening around him in real-time. He inhaled and exhaled deeply to steady his breathing.
