"Wow," the dark-haired man exclaimed. "Everyone is an AI now. Who else? Are you also part robot?" He gestured at Hailey who giggled and shook her head.
"No, no I'm not. I'll be carrying your children soon, so I have to stay full human if I want that to happen, so…"
"That…"
"…"
Ada smiled weirdly and slowly shook her head. "Well, that's unexpected."
Hailey's eyes met Andy's. She pouts and links her brows as she sees the surprised look in his eyes. "Or don't you want any kids?" She queried.
"I…"
She raised her brows, placed her hands on her waist, and put on a serious expression, waiting for the dark-haired man's reply.
"I'm gonna go. Give you guys time for your family planning." Ada reached for the door but stopped and turned back to face the two. "Oh right, almost forgot. Andy, Yvonne would like to talk to you. She said it's really important but can't come here so she'll be waiting for you at UNION, you can have Hailey drive you when you're done," she added before walking out of the room with a smile still on her face.
Once Ada was out of the room, Hailey turned to the former Rain agent with her brows furrowed. "What happened? What did you see?" She queried, referring to when he made contact with the lavender blue-haired lady.
"Nothing," said Andy, looking just as confused as Hailey was.
"So does that mean that the effect has died down?" As if on cue, the dark-haired man fell to his knees, gripping his severely aching head. "Argh!" He groaned as sparks of electricity began to glitch all over his body.
"Andy? Are you okay!" Said Hailey as she only curbed to the dark-haired man's level, unsure of what to do. "Oh my god, should I call a medic? I… I'm gonna call a medic." She quickly started towards the door but the dark-haired man called her back.
"No, I'm fine," he said. He dragged himself up and exhaled as the pain immediately vanished. "I'm fine." Though the dark-haired man gets his periodical dose of pain, his super healing takes care of the pain just as fast. But the feeling he gets when it's happening still hunts him after.
"Is it another vision?" She enquired.
He nodded. "Yeah."
"What is it?"
"I do not know. It's another fragment of images that could mean a lot of things."
The proclaimed mad technician looked at the dark-haired man with concern lingering on her face. "Is there not anything that could be done?" She queried.
"I doubt. The only people that have extensive knowledge about the Z-syrup is Miss Havishma and perhaps a few other of the Blue agent. I don't think anyone on this planet will know what's going on."
"We won't know till we try, right?"
"No, it's fine."
"Oh. So what? You'll just live through the pain?"
The dark-haired man extended his hand to Hailey. "Give me your hand."
"Huh?"
"Put your hands on mine."
"But, won't that trigger the visions you see?"
The dark-haired man swallowed. "It didn't work with Ada so maybe it won't now either. And if that happens then it'll only mean my body has adapted to it. Or not then I face the consequences."
"Okay then." Hailey raised her left hand and slowly placed it on the blue-eyed man's. They both stayed quiet, waiting for a reaction but nothing happened.
A broken chuckle slipped out of Andy's lips as he looked at Hailey's hand in his. "Nothing. I see nothing. I don't need to worry about seeing people's future when I make contact with them anymore…"
Before he could finish his sentence, Hailey leaned in and tenderly pressed her lips against his, allowing herself to fully surrender to his touch, she deepened the kiss, losing herself in the moment.
The door opened and a lady entered the room, she froze as she caught sight of the two. "Sorry," the Earthling said before quietly walking out.
Hailey slowly pulled away but still held on to Andy. She shifts her eyes to meet the dark-haired man. "… but that doesn't change the periodic random visions that occur," he completed his words.
Hailey smiled softly. "I love you," she whispered.
The dark-haired man was quiet for a moment, and when he opened his mouth to speak, she kissed him again. "We should go."
.
.
.
A few moments later, the duo arrived at the UNION organization building. Hailey was already familiar with the place so she easily navigated the way through the building to Yvonne's office.
The office was filled with advanced technology. It had no windows or visible light, but the room glowed brightly. A high-tech workstation with a large screen takes center stage, surrounded by smart devices and different gadgets.
In one corner of the room stood a robot holding a tablet in its hands. It turned its head to look at the two as they walked in.
A man whom the dark-haired man recognized as Marcus sat behind a desk with his hands folded around his chest and his usual bodyguards behind him.
Yvonne sat on a sleek chair with her legs crossed. She smiled and dropped the computer she was holding as the duo walked in. "Oh great, you're here. Please, sit." She pointed at a nearby couch. The office was big, so big that it contained an area with the most important kitchen material.
As the dark-haired found his seat, Hailey slipped her hands in her pocket and took backward steps towards the door. "Ehm, I'm gonna go now."
"Actually I need you to be here too," Yvonne stated.
The proclaimed mad technician stopped and looked at Yvonne before turning her gaze to the head of earth who folded his hands around his chest just as she turned to him.
"Huh," she muttered before slowly sitting next to the former Storm agent. "If this is about the single-man flight jet- I promise I'll be done with it by the end of this month, I just need to run a few more tests," Hailey said quietly.
Yvonne chuckled softly. "No, it's not about that. And regarding that project," she paused. "You've been relieved."
"What?"
"What she's trying to say is that you will no longer be working at Nator anymore," Marcus chipped. "Have you heard of Serenova Isle?" He added without wasting any time.
"Yes sir I have," she replied.
"Well, here's the deal. You have been stripped of your title as head of Nator and given a new title as the grant holder of Serenova Isle. You should fly over to the island before the end of today. The rest of the info on your duties will be transferred to your device."
"Wow… I---" she paused. "I don't know what to say."
Marcus leaned forward. "You can start with 'thank you sir I'll do my best'"
Hailey chuckled. "Thank you, sir, I'll do my best."
"I expect nothing less," the Head of Earth added before turning to the dark-haired man. He looked the Weir up before scoffing. "I'm gonna destroy it... I'm going to destroy Jacob Marksman and you can't stop me," he quoted.
"Do you know how many lives were lost that night because of your actions?"
"Do you have any idea what it'll take to recover from such devastating damage?" He stayed quiet for a couple of seconds before speaking again. "Do you know the reason why you're still sitting right there and not being arrested as a war criminal?"
The dark-haired man raised his brows, waiting for the H.O.E. to answer his question.
"Because we can't. We won't be able to detain you because of your powers. So what do you think I should do with you, Andy?"
The dark-haired man shrugged. "I don't know, it's your planet, do whatever you want. If you want to arrest me, go on… I promise I won't resist," he stated with much confidence all over his face.
Marcus held the blue-eyed man's stare while using his thumb and index finger to massage his jaw. "Hear me this ---I don't like you. I dislike everything about you. Your dark long hair, your eyes, the way you talk, the look you have on your face right now. Whatever the fuck comes out of your mouth, and that you are a Weir… I despise your kind…"
"Marcus," Yvonne chipped. "Let me take it from here."
The H.O.E. slowly nodded before leaning back in his chair. Yvonne cleared her throat and turned back to the dark-haired man. "Listen, Andy, a video of your outburst has gone all over the web and the people aren't too pleased about it. In the time you've been out, there've been multiple attacks and protests, all with the interest of having you leave this planet."
"Now, though this fine man here doesn't show it, we don't want you gone, and we also do not want the situation on Earth to escalate any further. So we are going to have you and your fellow Weir in a ship that will take off as if leaving the planet, but instead, you'll be on a path to the same island Hailey is headed to.."
"Serenova Isle."
