Daffi showed me the idea today. He said we should both work at this support centre. He said it’s special at home too. I don’t know why he didn’t mention it was an LGBTQ+ support centre. He knows I’m fine with it. Anyways I think I want to volunteer there. Lemme tell you about it a bit! It’s honestly amazing.
I was welcomed in by the manager of the place. Their name is Kit! On the inside, it feels so welcoming and homey. There are art tables, music areas and massive bookcases for everyone to read. I also learnt that they have a full-time therapist. Daffi said I should see her. Oh and I forgot to tell you my favourite bit about volunteering. We get to choose nicknames and they can be whatever. Do you know how I mentioned the manager, Kit? I think they have a really fun nickname. It’s Cheeto! I wanted to question it but they said it would be better to ask another time since it was a long story.
I really love the place. I think I’ll volunteer and maybe stay for longer. Today was only a preview but there I felt like I was safe and even happy. I can’t wait to go back tomorrow.
