I shook my head and stepped away from Kaiden and sat on the bench in front of the railing.
"I don't understand. . . He never told me any of this."
I couldn't take all of this in at once.
My head was practically spinning.
"Did you give him a chance to before you ran away?" Kaiden scoffed.
He is right. . . I never let him really explain anything, I ran away day one without even thinking.
I even burdened someone else with this life.
"I may have been asleep, child, but I know the stories. What I know you could have known from the beginning and you certainly wouldn't be in the mess you're in now."
I growled lowly at Kaiden knowing exactly what he was hinting. Jason was the reason I left, yes, but there were many more too.
He chuckled.
"Ooh I struck a nerve. . . my, my, won't it be fun once I gain full control hmm? It's getting to be more and more. . . oh I almost forgot, my apology."
I eyed him carefully as he walked towards me, his eyes almost burning yellow.
"My apologies Queen of Crimson." He bowed his head with a small smile.
"Until then though, there's not much fun to be had now is there? Now let Ben come back." I said sternly ignoring his smart remark.
He smirked, closed his eyes then his body relaxed and his eyes reopened to reveal Ben's.
"Kaiden is absolutely draining me today, I feel like I'm walking on fire." Ben rubbed his head in frustration, I stood up from the bench and walked back into my room.
"Nothing to say? That bad huh?" I heard Ben's footsteps follow me.
I stayed quiet as I grabbed some of my papers for the ball's guest list and sat on my bed.
"Luna?"
"Just a lot to take in Ben. I'll be fine, do you feel alright?" I broke my silence finally.
He shrugged.
"Other than the fire feeling and being parched no, everything tastes like copper in my mouth."
I laughed to myself in my head.
"Congrats you're experiencing bloodlust."
His eyes widened.
Normally him having bloodlust would concern me, but since Kaiden had been in control a lot of today it didn't surprise me, especially since I had taken some of his blood.
"Don't worry it will pass, Kaiden had a lot of control over you today and me taking some of his blood probably didn't do you any favors."
"You what? Listen Luna, I don't want Jason to-"
"Oh don't worry. I'll take care of him you'll be fine, relax." I laughed a little.
"Listen, you can say that all you want, I'm heading out before he gets home. Plus I want to spend some time with my lovely Jenna."
I nodded and he bowed his head before walking out of my room.

The day went by slowly and I had gotten through most of the approval list for the ball now all I had was the guest list for the newly turned vampires.
"Lucas Harris, Adeline Lunt, and Michael Lancaster. . ." I quietly said to myself as I finished checking off the list with a sigh.
So had to be done, yes I finished ahead of schedule.
"Alexander!" I yelled.
I smiled, and before even a minute had past, Alexander was in front of me in my room, bowing his head with a smile.
"Yes?"
I handed him the stack of papers.
He gave me a puzzled look.
"Done already?"
I nodded.
"The King has yet to come back. . . is there anything you'd like?"
I was starting to get uncomfortably thirsty, but I wanted to wait for Jason to arrive before I fed.
At least then I knew my craving would be somewhat dulled.
I shook my head.
"You may stay with me though Alexander if you wish, it's been a while since you've just hungout with me you know."
He smiled and grabbed the chair from my desk, sitting in close to the bed before taking a seat.
"Well my apologies your highness."
"Alexander, after all this time why do you still call me that?"
He smiled.
"I know you said to call you. . Luna, but it's just hard to because of my respect for you, even though I know you have asked me to."
I smiled and shook my head.
"You're a good friend to Jason and I both Alexander, you really shouldn't feel that way."
He nodded.
"Five hundred and sixty four years I've known you and Jason."
He scratched the back of his head almost uncomfortably calling Jason by his first name.
"Indeed it has been quite some time Alexander. . ." I immediately recognized Jasons sweet voice and saw him at the door and ran into his open arms and tucked my head into his chest.
"I'm home my sweet. . ." he chuckled before placing a kiss on my head.
"Your high-"
"Alexander really, Luna is right . . . we've been easy about this, but it's been centuries, you're practically family."
I looked up at Jason and breathed in his calm scent before burying my face back in his chest smiling and ignoring his words.
"Very well then, Jason."
"Now not to be rude and interrupt, but unless you need my wife a little longer, may I steal her?"
I unwrapped myself from Jason's hold and stood beside him as he shifted us away from the door.
"Not at all, we were just awaiting for you to come back anyhow. You know where I'll be."
And just like that he had flashed out the door shutting it swiftly.
I looked back up into Jason eyes as they held my gaze.
"And what is this scent I smell coming from your lips hmm?" His voice wasn't stern, but it wasn't really happy either.
Jason put his finger under my chin and lightly brushed his lips against mine.
I bit my lip.
"It's umm, Kaiden's. . ."
His jaw clenched, but he kept his finger under my chin.
"And why is that?"
His eyes were slowly darkening and I reached up to my hand around his and held his gaze.
"So I could see what he saw in his past life, which reminds me, I could really use a drink, I'm famished."
I pouted and tilted my head down to take the tip of his finger into my mouth and bit the skin ever so lightly, as to prick it and to drink a few drops from the tiny spot.
He groaned, gently pulling away his finger.
At this moment I couldn't tell if he was annoyed by my actions with Kaiden or him. Perhaps maybe even both.
"Well then I think I should take care of that straight away then."
Suddenly, I was scooped up into his arms bridal style and carefully placed on our bed before he then quickly sat beside me and started unbuttoning his shirt.
"Mmm aren't I lucky one I get you shirtless too huh?"
He chuckled, shaking his head and I gripped his shirt, tugging him forward causing his shirt to pop off all the bottom buttons, he looked down at me.
"Someone's impatient."
I giggled lightly shoving the ruined material off his shoulder and started trailing kisses down his neck to his chest.
I felt him tense as I licked a small spot on his chest before grazing my teeth against his skin. He began softly stroking my hair just before I bit into his chest and he let out a soft moan of pleasure.
I could feel his warm sweet liquid start to fill my mouth and I groaned with satisfaction.
This, is what I needed. Not animal blood, not human, but his.
I pulled him closer, biting into him more causing the blood to flow, I leaned into him more almost straddling his lap, as I could feel his member harden beneath me as I continued to feed.
My hunger began to subside after a few moments of me biting into him time and time again.
I gently pulled myself away only to look up into his eyes, but before I could his lips crashed into mine.
I opened up my mouth to him as my hands found their way into his soft silky hair and let out a soft moan into his mouth when his tongue started to dance with mine.
He growled into my mouth in response as he bit my lip and started to suck on my bottom lip tasting the little amount of blood that came with it.
I weakened under his touch, I felt his hands slowly slide under my velvet top, as swiftly unhooked my bra and cupped my right breast. He broke the kiss, I was quickly stripped of my bra and shirt, he took my breast into his hand and pulled it into his mouth and began to nibble and suck on it.
I moaned out his name and he quickly started to pull down my pants, but continued to focus on my breast as he quickly removed the rest of my clothing I laid down on the bed holding him close against me trying not to stop him from his task.
I could feel myself start to dampen between my thighs and I opened my eyes to look down at him as I watched him devour my breasts.
"Jason. . ." I whispered softly and then let out a soft moan when he released my nipple from his mouth.
"Hm?"
I quickly yanked him closer ripping off the rest of his clothes and bit into his shoulder, claiming him.
He groaned before pulling me away and held me down so he could position himself at my entrance. I let out a sigh of relief when he pushed himself swiftly into me.
"Look at me. . ." he lifted my chin up and brought my lips to his and started to kiss me passionately as he slowly pumped himself in and out of me.
I wanted more of him, I couldn't get enough of him right now, but I knew I would never get anything rough from him he wouldn't allow it.
I whimpered as his tongue slowly slid across mine and I started to nibble on his lip.
This went on for a while until he fully pushed himself into me and I felt him swell up more and I moaned into his mouth as I started to feel him slowly pour into me. He broke our kiss to look into my eyes as he touched my cheek.
"Feel better my beautiful?" He stayed in me and I could feel him slowly leak out of me.

He pulled up the blanket and rolled us over onto our sides and I felt him slip out of me and I let out a soft sigh.
He began to stroke my hair softly as he wrapped his other arm around my waist.
"So how was your day out?" I asked as I intertwined our hands together.
"Fine, long. . . what did you want to know about Kaiden?"
Now he's bringing it up?

I played with his fingers as I held his hand.
"And?" his hand stopped playing with my hair as he awaited an answer.
"Kaiden had followed him for many years, Zadicus had never fed from the source until me. . . and Zadicus met me when I was just a baby."
I felt his hand tense and his body shifted so he was sitting up and I turned around to look at him.
His mood very suddenly changing, even if understandably it didn't make the feeling any better.
"Jason don't. . . I understand you're angry, but sit still. The past is what it is, but Kaiden doesn't know how he came about either I hoped he did, but he doesn't. . ."
I knew he wanted to leave and find either Ben or Zadicus either way I didn't want him doing either.
He sighed, laying back down beside me.
I curled up against him and kissed his shoulder and started to rub his arms trying to calm him.
"I understand that I basically have a ticking clock of when he'll kill me, and I also know that I'm lucky to have been able to be with you for so long, I got more than twice the time we would have gotten as humans. . . yet I wonder if truthfully, this was good for you." He spoke softly as his soft grey eyes stared into mine, softly reaching up and softly brushing my hair.
"I love you, and I've loved every extra day I've had with you. . . I don't ever want to think of us having an end. . . you'll be with me always."
I felt tears start to fill my eyes and I buried my face into his shoulder, clinging to him.
"Shh. . . don't worry even if that day does come I'll put up a fight." he cooed softly into my ear and I nodded still clinging to him,ignoring his words.
