Genesis
Ch. 46
vs. 1-3: God came again to Jacob just so he could see his son with assurance. How sweet.
vs. 4-27: A long list of everyone who went with Jacob. He really did bring a congregation with him to Egypt. I wonder if he was thinking about the prophecy God gave them when he went.
vs. 28-34: Finally reunited. Also what do the Egyptians have against shepherds?

Ch. 47
vs. 1-6: So they just came out and told Pharoah they were shepherds? Alright.
vs. 7-12: So Jacob blessed Pharoah? Interesting, I guess they made a little small talk then.
vs. 13-19: We see how a country obtains private land for their own. We also see how Egypt became a great nation.
vs. 20-26: People complain about tithing but Pharoah got a fifth which is twice as much as a tenth for tithing.
vs. 27-29: Jacob is making him promise by this same thigh thing. What is that about we've seen this before and we know Jacob was touched there by God to limp.
vs. 30-31: It's good to keep your promises.

Ch. 38
vs. 1-7: Jacob established the half tribes here. Interesting that Joseph isn't a tribe of himself. I guess because he is an Egyptian now. How interesting.
vs. 8-15: A twin blessing twins. He knows the struggle.
vs. 16-19: Jacob knew what was up. I wonder if him being the younger impacted his thoughts or if this is something that he felt from God.
vs. 20-22: Thus Jacob blessed the boys and gave Joseph a mountain I guess.

Mathew
Ch. 14
vs. 1-12: How horrible! What a gruesome way to die.
vs. 13-21: Sounds like Jesus went way to mourn and was followed. I wonder if the people who followed knew about John's passing.
vs. 22-27: He got his alone time and had to walk on water to meet them.
vs. 28-33: They understood who he was after this sign. Also interesting that Peter had faith to walk but had little faith when he started sinking.
vs. 34-36: This is a fulfillment of Levitical law as well.
