Genesis
Ch. 10
vs.1-5: Buckle up more genealogies! Ok, coastland peoples came from Japeth. Possible Assyrians?
vs. 6: From Ham came Egypt and Canaan. These two had major conflicts with the Israelites. Noted that the curse was effectively displayed. Cush is today's Ethiopia and I don't know what Put is today.
vs.7-13: So we get the Philistines whom David battled also we get the Babel which I assume corresponds to the tower of Bable. Interesting to note that the mighty man Nimrod is from Ham. Maybe that is why these peoples were such great and mighty foes to the Israelites. We also get Niniveah which Jonah preached to repent whom the Israelis also had conflict with.
vs. 14-20: The Amorites whom Ruth was came from Canaan but also many of Canaan's descendants resided in Sodom and Gamora. They extended toward Gaza as well going east. Noah must have landed and settled near the promised land. That is if my geography is correct.
vs. 21-32: Interesting to note that the earth was divided here.
Ch. 11
vs. 1-3: They developed a stronger way to build. Firing clay is such an interesting process. To think burning something makes it stronger. That's what refining fire is based on.
vs.4-9: Lol. They tried to make a tower reaching the heavens and the next line is, "God stooped down to see." It wasn't even close. Also, this division still remains today. The language barrier created a cultural barrier and we still fight about it.
vs. 10-26: Abram! The Plot thickens! Also, We get two genealogies of Shem, one in the chapter before with a brief break to explain the tower of Bable and then a do-over after. Wonder why it was written in such a fashion.
vs. 27-32: What a nice grandpa to take in his grandson after the son's father died. Also, they are in the land of Canaan! Promised land to the Jews. Also, also, Abram and Lot must have felt more like brothers than cousins with that kind of upbringing and closeness.?
Ch. 12
vs. 1-3: What a beautiful promise to receive!
vs. 4-9: The promised land is given to his children! Also, Abram brought Lot his nephew but I do believe God told him to depart from his kindred.
vs. 10-16: Abram really did everyone in this scenario a disservice. His wife was thrown around, the Pharoah was deceived, and Abram bamboozled himself.
vs. 17-20: We see that Pharoah was dealing pretty fair with Abram. God at least had Sarai's back. He's like sorry hun I'll fix this. PLAUGE. NIce little bit of foreshadowing I suppose. Also, you would think Abram would learn from this but no. Watch him do it again.

vs. 1-3: Jesus fasted 40 days and nights. Man, I struggle with a fraction of that. Also, only a few people fasted that duration in the Bible; Moses, Daniel, and Jesus. Might be more but I can't remember.
vs. 4-7: The enemy knows scripture. He can twist it out of context. That is why it says to study to show your self approved. Note that if Jesus ate like the Devil is tempting him to he might likely die. His body has shut down after so long fasting. When you break a fast you need to be very careful what you eat and how you do it. Josh Herring has a book called Fast Forward for any who are interested in fasting and don't understand it or know where to start.
vs. 8-10: Only after Satan asked him to worship him did Jesus get fed up. He holds no idols. It is in the shemah, you shall worship THe Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, and with all your strength. You shall have no idols before your God.
vs. 11-14: See angels did minister unto Jesus after Satan left.
vs. 15-17: We see that this time of fasting set off Jesus's ministry on earth.
vs. 18-22: Four deciples in one go. Mathew is not as concerned with the other people in the story as he is with showing the divinity and fulfillment in Christ Jesus.
vs. 24-25: A massive following sought after Jesus.
