Exodus
Ch. 4
vs. 1-9: This is just a fraction of what God is about to do. God is just reassuring Moses here.
vs. 10-12: Moses is worried about his speech and the Lord says that He will teach Him. How great is our God!
vs. 13-17: God makes a compromise for Moses. I find it interesting that God would choose Aaron knowing that he would make the calf. We see here that this wasn't his first choice. Even later Moses grows so much he makes the Deuteronomy speech after Aaron's passing.
vs. 18-20: Moses honors his father-in-law even here asking permission to leave. He also takes the staff that God displayed himself through. Maybe it brings him comfort.
vs. 21-23: Wow, so that is why God kills the first borns.. I've read this several times and this just stuck out to me. I don't remember how Moses relayed this message but we will see.
vs. 24-26: Moses never circumcised his children even though they are Hebrews as well. I wonder why God waited till just now to act upon that. Zipporah though is feisty and a good woman for protecting their children.
vs. 27-31: They believed! Also what a touching reunion between Aaron and Moses.

Ch.5
vs. 1-9: Why did Moses ask just for a few days? I don't remember the Lord saying that. Maybe he knew that since Pharoah would say no it would be a lesser affliction to the people if he did not come straight out and ask to leave.
vs. 10-14: How horrible.
vs. 15-21: How discouraging to here that from the people you are trying to help. There will always come a time in ministry where your actions will hurt someone despite your intentions. You will need to understand where their comments come from.
vs. 22-23: Moses gets discouraged despite knowing that the Lord told him this would happen. I feel we can all relate to that. We need to remember that the Lord's will isn't instant and it isn't linear in nature. We think things are set backs when really they are just how God operates.
Ch. 6
vs. 1: God continues to show Moses. Also this is why chapter breaks are sometimes misleading. They can happen right in the middle of a passage like this.
vs. 2-9: You can give encouraging words but a broken spirit wont be able to hear. Sometimes they have to experience it for themselves.
vs. 10-13: Moses was uncircumcised? I guess that makes sense but still. Crazy.
vs. 14-25: Just a genealogy dump right in the middle. What purpose does that serve? It has to be there for a reason narratively.
vs. 26-30: This is a recanting for those who didn't know what happened between God and Moses. Also this chapter cuts a story right in half. Ugh.
