Ch. 17

vs. 1-7:  God puts in place a seemingly heavy restriction but then explains that it is so they do not sacrifice to idols.  In this case God calls it a goat demon.

vs. 8-9: There are restrictions on sacrifice. It is important to sacrifice right. You could be accused of sacrificing to someone other than God.

vs. 10-12: For it is the blood that makes atonement by the life. Jesus's blood holds power because it is His life. We need no other sacrifice because He lives forever.

vs. 13-16: Who wants to consume blood?

Ch. 18

vs. 1-10:  God has to tell them not to be incestuous. That is absolutely wild.

vs. 11-18: That last part seams a little pointed at Jacob not going to lie.

vs. 19-21: Don't do the dead on someone's period, don't cheat and also don't kill babies. I sure hope they weren't doing this before hand, but considering that it happens today even I doubt it.

vs. 22-23: This is the verse everyone forgets. Point blank.

vs. 24-30: This is an interesting thing about the land. It's the idea that the sin which is committed makes the land unclean or "sick" so to speak. This then forces the land to vomit the people out in an effort to cleanse itself much like we do when we have a virus or bacterial sickness. This is what happens to the Israelites later in their reign via the exile.

Ch. 3

vs. 1-6: Jesus was mad because they knew the answer but would rather let the man suffer to prove a point.

vs. 7-12: The evil spirits Know who Jesus is.

vs. 13-19: Sending them out and appointing them to preach and have authority to cast out demons. This is the list of the Apostles.

vs. 20-21:Jesus's family tried to capture Him.

vs. 22-30: The unforgivable sin. I had a teacher who once said this is unforgivable because you don't ask forgiveness for something you don't view as wrong. those who blaspheme the holy spirit don't believe in it so they won't repent.

vs. 31-35: I understand this saying but I also think it's hard to receive this.
