Numbers
Ch. 29
vs. 1-15: All of these focus on the seventh month. 7 is an important number. It's completeness and victory.
vs. 16-34: Random days of this 7th month. I do not understand this part.
vs. 35- 40: A solemn feast. What does that mean?
Ch. 30
vs. 1-5: Very interesting that she's forgiven for breaking a vow because her father disallowed it. God understands your circumstances. Allways try to uphold your vows but God knows when you could have kept them and wen you were forced not to.
vs. 5- 16: Her husband had the same treatment. Also notice the accountability of the husband if he pretends it's not there then it stands. He has to actively speak up to do anything. I think that's a good fundamental to understand.
Ch. 31
vs. 1-12: God said one last battle. Remind these fools how wrong they were to cross us!
vs. 13-20: He was mad because they spared the people.
vs. 21-26: We see Eleazar assuming his role and understanding God's commandment.
vs. 27-31: We see the warriors get paid as well as recieve some honor.
vs. 32-41: So the tribute is given to the priest. This is also reflected in medieval culture. We see people paying tribute even today.
vs. 42-53: This was a close to ideal takeover. Other than the one incident they followed what God said. A good note for Moses to retire under.
