It was a nebulous night in New Orleans, as Caroline Forbes walked into the bar as she had the other night when she'd had Ric's girls with her. This time was different though. She wasn't looking for a way to get that mark removed from Stefan. She was here to find out where the hell Klaus was. And his family. If someone put Klaus in danger, that someone was going to get their ass kicked. She loved him and she was always one to fight for those she loved. She wasn't going to just stand by and let someone hurt Klaus or even his family. She was going to fight for Klaus and dare she admit it, his family.
She sat down at the bar.
"What can I get you?" the blond she sensed was a vampire, asked her.
"A shot glass of Bourbon and some information," she replied.
She got her a shot glass of Bourbon and asked, "What kind of information are you wanting?"
"I'm a friend of Klaus. Last time I asked someone, she said he hadn't been heard of or seen in three years. I want to know where he is. My name is Caroline Forbes." She looked at her name tag for her name and then at her again. "Please, Cami."
"I'll tell you everything, but not here. It was Marcel's doing. I can't say anything with his guys around. I'll take you to my apartment," Cami said to her.
After clocking out early, she took her to her apartment.
Cami walked inside and then invited her in.
Caroline walked in, closing the door behind herself.
They both sat down on Cami's couch.
"So, what happened?" Caroline asked.
"Marcel turned himself into a monster. If he bites a vampire, there's no cure. He bit Elijah and Kol. One of the Strix poisoned Freya, their older sister, and Rebekah was cursed to madness. In order to save his family, Klaus gave himself up to Marcel. Freya put a sleeping spell on them all and linked them to Klaus' life force. Hayley daggered them to keep them from dying and so Rebekah won't go mad before she's cured. Hayley's been searching for the cure, but has come up empty," she informed her. "I hope it doesn't take forever. Klaus and Hayley's daughter Hope shouldn't grow up without a father," she added.
"So, he's moved on?" Caroline asked, her hope for them being together sinking.
"He doesn't love Hayley and I'm not sure if he loves me either. Klaus has trouble showing his true feelings. Do you really love him?"
"I do. It took me a while to accept my feelings about him, but I finally did with him in the woods. I'm glad he hasn't moved on, because he promised me that he would wait for me as long as it takes."
"Then we can work together to save them," Cami said.
A few months later, they found a cure for Rebekah, Kol, Elijah, and Freya. They even found a way to turn Marcel back into a normal vampire and he got killed by Elijah for almost killing Elijah and his family. Kol continued his grief over Davina and Cami continued her bartender job. Caroline and Klaus got together at last and Elijah and Rebekah left town, but Caroline and Freya and Kol stayed at Klaus' side.
