*Always and Forever*
I am insensitive, I have a tendency
To pay more attention to the things I need
Sometimes I drink too much, sometimes I test your trust
Sometimes I don’t know why you stay with me
I’m hard to love, hard to love
No, I don’t make it easy
I couldn’t do it if I stood where you stood
It was a dismal night in the New Orleans cemetery, as Klaus stood in the mausoleum where the witches lived. He’d just asked what he’d been called there for, which Sophie replied, telling him that she had a gift of sensing when young girls were pregnant.
“Bring her out!” Sophie ordered the other witches.
When they brought her out, it was revealed to be Katherine.
Realizing what they were trying to say, he let his anger come out.
“You’re lying,” he told Sophie. Then he turned to Katerina. “You’ve been with someone else, admit it!”
“I haven’t been with anyone else,” she calmly replied, expecting his anger. She was too much like him. She didn’t like being manipulated or used either.
“Help us take out Marcel or so help me, Katherine won’t live to see her first fraternity shirt,” Sophie threatened him.
“Klaus, listen,” Katherine instructed him, a hand over her stomach.
Klaus listened with hybrid hearing and heard his child’s heartbeat. For a moment, his heart softened at hearing that, believing that he could finally have happiness of his own. But then his anger got the best of him and he looked at Sophie.
“How dare you threaten me with what you wrongfully perceive to be my weakness! I will not be manipulated! Kill her and the baby, see if I care.”
Katherine and the witches watched, as he left.
Later that night, Klaus changed his mind and took her home to the plantation house with him to stay with him.
*River In Reverse*
You say that you need me
I don’t deserve it but I love that you love me, good
I am a short fuse, I am a wrecking ball
Crashing into your heart like I do
You’re like a Sunday morning, full of grace and full of Jesus
I wish I could be more like you
I’m hard to love, hard to love
No, I don’t make it easy
I couldn’t do it if I stood where you stood
Klaus stood with chains on both of his wrists, Marcel’s followers whom were mere vampires, holding the other ends of the chains. He couldn’t free himself with just his vampire part, so he let out his werewolf side. His eyes turned yellow and he looked at Marcel with pure rage and hatred. He wouldn’t be put down. He couldn’t let that happen. He had to win, or else what would happen to his child and Katerina if he wasn’t there to protect them? He pulled at the chains with such force that the vampires couldn’t hold the ends. Then it was a slaughter with Klaus ripping hearts out and biting vampires left and right. He was unstoppable. Then, in order to save what vampires remained, Marcel picked up the coin, surrendering to Klaus.
Klaus smiled at that, knowing that he’d finally won New Orleans back as well as his family home; the compound.
*Moon Over Bourbon Street*
I’m hard to love, hard to love
You say that you need me
I don’t deserve it but I love that you love me, good
Love me, good
Girl, you’ve given me a million chances
And I don’t wanna take that for granted
I’m just a man, I’m just a man
Klaus stood by the table that Katerina lay on, as he took his jacket off and put it under her head as a pillow. He stood there, as Genevieve began a spell to find out what had been done to her, in order to save her. He couldn’t hear her breathing, but he could still hear their child. For once in his life, he didn’t have anything to say, but had many thoughts about this. Whoever had done this to Katerina was going to pay with their life.
Come on, Katerina. Stay with me. Our child needs you. Needs both of us, he thought, as if it would make her come back to the living world.
As he stood there, he wouldn’t admit it out loud, but he was afraid. He didn’t want to lose either of them. He hoped the witch knew what she was doing. Katerina was a fighter; more so than anyone else he’d ever met. He had to hope that she’d get through this. He couldn’t bear to lose anyone else; especially, Katerina and their child.
Meanwhile, on the Other Side, Katherine was facing off with Mikael whom was trying to kill her. Though she was on the Other Side, she knew she wasn’t quite dead yet, since he was trying to kill her. Though she was human, she knew that she had an advantage over him, so she used it. She used her Traveler magic to throw him off her, which Mikael didn’t even know she had. He obviously hadn’t known much about her, so he didn’t know she was descended from anything magical.
In the living world, Genevieve was doing a spell to bring Katherine back, which soon worked.
Klaus was still standing at Katerina’s side, as Genevieve left to leave them be and to have a talk with Monique for trying to kill both Katherine and the child.
Katherine woke up with a gasp and Klaus helped her sit up and helped her off the table. Then they hugged, happy that they were all okay now.
I’m hard to love, hard to love
Oh, no, I don’t make it easy
And I couldn’t do it if I stood where you stood
I’m hard to love, hard to love
And you say that you need me
I don’t deserve it but I love that you love me, good
You love me, good
You love me, good
Later that night, Katherine was standing on her balcony, looking at the sky, glad to be alive. Klaus joined her on the balcony and she looked at him.
“Thank you.”
Klaus knew that she was thanking him for being there for her today, when she needed help the most.
“Anything for you, Katerina, luv.”
It was such a moment that they kissed.
