Matty pulls away from our kiss, his eyes are completely closed and I notice his breathing is just as ragged as mine. He opens his eyes to look at me and I don't want to lose him. Somehow even though I have only known him briefly I can't imagine not being able to gaze into his eyes.

His hands are resting on my thighs near my bum. He lifts one of his hands up and pushes my curly hair off of my shoulders.

I lower my mouth to his and lightly kiss him, he tries to deepen the kiss but I smile and stop kissing him.

Pulling myself off of him he takes my hand and holds onto it. I don't remember feeling this way ever with Tom, and especially not so soon. I feel like I'm in some kind of romantic movie falling in love for the first time.

He walks towards my door, I don't want him to leave. But part of me knows that he must, I need a bit of thinking space. He pulls on his leather jacket in my hall next to the wooden staircase which is just a few steps from my bedroom. Scraping his hair back, a gesture I'm already used to, I have no choice but to gawk at him. He's utterly perfect.

Walking out and unlocking my car I can't stop thinking about her. But right now I must if I'm going to play this just right. She's probably in there right now dealing with Tod/Tom, I just know he would have messaged her after that fight. Desperate loser that he is. I hope that she blocks his number. I consider camping outside of her pretty suburban home I order to protect her from him flying back down the road and tearing up her drive again. I shake my head at the man I'm becoming, I don't camp outside of any girls home. Even pretty yards like that with roses and white wooden porches.

I'm sure though that the way I dealt with the whole situation has secured my place in her life. The way she held onto me sitting in my lap, she's making me feel obsessed. I have no idea how long we just sat there like that, and hour perhaps. No talking, just her occasionally kissing me and holding me back.

I'm glad she invited me in and even more glad that she opened up to me. I feel the anger rise as I remember her expression, the pain and hurt in her eyes prickling with tears. I want to go and find him and hurt him even more. But something tells me she wouldn't want me fighting her battles.

My phone pings and I glance at it, it's a message from her. I'll look at it and save her number when I'm not driving. The tension I feel instantly dissipates from me knowing that she has messaged me. I can focus now on what I must get done in order to begin being the kind of person she is going to give a chance. A guy who deserves her loyalty and affection.

I stand there for a few minutes wanting to call him back into the house. That last kiss in my kitchen, it was so intense, I have never been kissed with that passion and urgency. After some deliberation I decide to shake it off. I need to make myself busy.

Firstly I'm going to send that text to him, I head into the kitchen and retrieve my phone from the side. I have one more message from Tom. It's beginning to piss me off that he won't just exit my life quietly. It's like he's determined to bring me down. I swipe it away. I will ignore him until he stops.
I start messaging Matty instead. What to say? I don't want to sound desperate after the conversation we’ve just had about my messy ex. I've never messaged him before. I settle for just writing my name on the message with a kiss. That's cool enough I decide.

I then go up to my room, putting my bag down and getting out some clean clothes. I decide on having a long shower after last nights partying.
After drying my hair and putting on my own clean clothes, I go downstairs and put Matty's sisters clothes through the machine checking the labels properly so I don't damage her stuff.
I really hope I get to meet her sometime.

Perhaps I'm getting a bit ahead of myself here. I mean I have literally just met him, I start to think about the things that I do know about him and realise that it's actually not a great deal.
Rhea's voice springs into my mind from yesterday warning me that he has a bit of a reputation. If that's true, I must be a magnet to guys like that. I do not want a sworn sort of boyfriend who comes and goes as he pleases from my driveway.

I make myself some lunch, weirdly nothing is interesting to me at the moment. Everything seems mundane and boring without him. Whatever did I spend my days doing before he took up all of my thoughts. We say goodbye, I wish her luck for tonight and hang up. I feel better having spoken to her. I launch up one tree hill feeling happy watching it rather than in despair.
