Once we've walked up and down the lake, Taylor decides she wants to get a photo of us next to it. She looks stunning, everybody glances in her direction. We ask a couple with kids if they can take our picture, they oblige happily. As we stand back the couples little girl comments on Taylor asking her if she's a princess.

She swats me laughing before pulling out her phone and angling the camera for a selfie. I have this bizarre moment of wondering how she's changed so much in my life, I used to look at guys with their other halves posing for pictures and sneer. Yet Taylor kisses me whilst taking a selfie, the lake in the background and I pull her in closer. We take a photo of us smiling and she awes at it and smiles.

As we're walking back down the lake towards the taxi's I grasp her hand which is now one of my favourite things to do. Rubbing her hand in my own, I decide I was wrong about not needing companionship in my life. I just needed to find the right companion.

"Here" I say holding the cab door open for her. The lake house was something my Dad always went on about, when I was young I could never understand him. As I sit now though watching over her in this hired Mercedes, I get it all. All of his lectures and long speeches. The lake house is in my name and I'm thinking about it all already. Where I would put things from my apartment in the different rooms. I've googled the route to university. Taylor really clicked things into place for me. Despite my dad raving about the lake house, before I had felt adverse to staying there because I would be alone, far away from everybody and frankly lonely. But if I had her, that would be different.

The Mercedes halts at the drive and I go around to open her door. Holding her by her forewarn I guide her up to the large porch and let us into the property. Disarming the house alarm, I proceed to set the security system, blinds and heating. She's smiling at me, watching me. Once I'm finished I approach her standing by the console table in the marble hall. She kisses me fervently, arms encircling me instantly.

Her fingers work through the buttons on my shirt, as her eyes take in the expressions that flit over my face.
