The rain hammers down on us as Ross drives with the wipers on the highest setting back to the lake house. I had placed the zip code in the tablet on his dash and he's following the route gazing at me occasionally.

I watch him make the coffees as I take a seat down on the stool in the kitchen. He finds all the stuff he needs and I'm impressed because he has no idea where everything is but he manages just fine without asking me.

"Come" I say guiding him to the sofas when the coffee is done. He follows me and sits next to me on the couch. I curl up and switch the tv on as he works out where to place his hands without touching me too much.

"She was with Jay for a while. She wasn't anything special Taylor. They weren't together like you two are" he says as he gets his social media profile up. Ross' profile picture is one of him and his friends, a group shot taken at a party at Ryan's. He stands with me in the picture, his hand just behind my shoulders as he smiles warmly. Scrolling through his friend's list I notice that even though he does know a lot of people, they are all genuine people that he has met and not just girls from one night stands. Finding Nina's profile he taps on the image of her and waits for her profile to load up before passing me his phone.

"She went off to study abroad" he says as I take a look at her. Nina Hammond it says, lives in England, London to be exact. Studying at Oxford, so she was bright. She has longish hair it's mid brown and she has mutual friends with Ross. One of them is Jay. Her green eyes are smiley in her picture and she looks like a genuine girl.

Once I've snooped I hand Ross back his phone before cuddling into him as he strokes my hair. I can always count on Ross to tell me the truth. Eventually I close my eyes and sleep in his arms.
