We walk through our secluded home draped in soft towelling robes, he has his arm around my waist as he lifts me up on the stairs and carries me the rest of the way up the stairs. And as I gaze into his eyes with one of my own draped around his waist I realise I wasn't looking for love, I wasn't looking for him. If I'm honest I was very much trying to not look at him. Telling myself that he wasn't the correct choice for me, yet knowing he was perfect all along. His utter beauty which is undeniable, the blue eyes I once thought cold are now my favourite thing to stare at.

He sets me down on our four poster bed and I look over at my dress which I hung up for the occasion. Silk buttons to fasten up the back and a maroon colour palette I decide instantly on making my lips a matching shade of red. As he begins buttoning up his shirt I slip the gown on feeling the silk slip over my frame.

I can hear his breath hitch, I briefly imagine him inside of me as his soft hands pull my dress aside even though he's supposed to be doing it up. I am enthralled by him twenty four seven. It’s not unusual for a small town girl to not have visited a skyscraper restaurant. The building is lit up with fancy colour changing lights, windows all the way up to the top which look out over the skyline, different restaurants and bars on all levels. I gasp slightly at the sight of it and he rubs my thigh before pulling into the underground parking.

However, I force myself to look out and away from him. So this is a rooftop bar I think to myself in awe. The top floor, the most exclusive of all of the levels. The scent of freshly baked breads mixed with fresh tomatoes and oregano. It’s most certainly my sort of cuisine; up scale Italian with a rustic feel. The outer walls are all made of windows looking out over the bright lights and stars in the inky night sky.

The bar itself is positioned in the centre of the room, it is circular and full of revellers wanting their next drink. Almost all of the clientele are business people, doctors, surgeons or for a better word rich people. I spy Rolex watches, Gucci purses and Chanel gowns.

A female approaches us, clad in a cream Gucci pant suit, instantly recognising her from his apartment I smile warmly feeling every bit the rich sons girlfriend in my own designer gown. Immediately she pulls him into a hug and I melt as he hugs her back whole heartedly.

Her eyes then sweep over me and I am sure that I got my look right, a little makeup just to enhance my face and a long sleek dress. She smiles approvingly.

I briefly try to imagine what he might look like, and come up blank. My heels clink all the way over to the table and she compliments me on my louboutins as we take a seat. "Oh wow that is great" Claire says watching her son. It strikes me that she is in shock, he is acting very mature. She hasn't actually seen her son hold a girls hand or behave in a way that shows love and care towards a girl. I smile and she grins at me pleased.

During our main courses I learn that Claire has visited many places, I smile listening avidly to her stories. She strikes me as somebody that has lived her life to the full. From Dubai, Australia to Shanghai.

I watch him with his mum, talking and smiling. And it dawns on me, this is an altogether new Jay. The Jay that will do anything for the ones he loves, the one who loves unconditionally.
