Hung Yu Fei quickly ran back. Tears rolled down her cheeks when she saw Wun Fan. She immediately threw herself at him as she cried, “Little Wun, my arm got scratched!”
“Mm?!” said Wun Fan, a hint of murderous intent flickering in his eyes. However, he thought for a moment and paused. Why did he get angry so easily? He took a few deep breaths and calmed down before saying, “What happened?”
Wun Fan wasn’t too cold toward her. He took out some ointment from his storage ring and helped her disinfect her wound. He then bandaged it to stop the bleeding.
“I chased that bastard all the way to the main road. Just when I was about to kill him, a group of people arrived. One of them stepped forward and said he was the captain of the Flower Thief squad or something and asked me to stop,” said Hung Yu Fei with a sulking tone. She puffed up her cheeks and pursed her lips as she said, “I said I wouldn’t stop and he attacked me.”
“He seemed to be at the level of an intermediate Martial Scholar. I know I was no match and was about to strategically retreat when someone shot an arrow at me from behind,” said Hung Yu Fei, her temper flaring as she said that. She was so angry that she started huffing and puffing.
“Mm, you couldn’t beat the guy, so you tried to leave and got injured in the process?” said Wun Fan bluntly while rolling his eyes at her. He was a little upset at what happened, but he couldn’t help but find her reaction funny. This prideful little girl clearly lost, but she was still trying to make it sound like it was all part of her plan.
That said, the Green Wolf Gang was truly quite formidable. He would have to deal with them carefully if he ran into them in the future. After all, even a simple squad captain was an intermediate Martial Scholar. His battle with Fung Ching earlier already demonstrated that the difference of a single realm was already tremendous. He had only been able to corner Fung Ching earlier because of his tricks and tactics. If it had been a battle to the death between the two of them, Wun Fan had no doubt that he would lose.
“Shut up!” cried Hung Yu Fei suddenly. She was already upset at losing the fight and felt even worse after Wun Fan put her loss so bluntly. Teardrops as round as pearls started rolling down her cheeks as she cried.
“Alright, alright, stop crying. I can’t relax when you cry,” said Wun Fan. He wiped his hands and made sure there was no more blood on them. He then rubbed Hung Yu Fei on the head and consoled her, “You’re the best, you’re the strongest. The next time you see them, you will kill them all and take your revenge!”
“That’s right! I can’t sleep well until I’ve killed them all!” said Hung Yu Fei with gleaming eyes. She felt like Wun Fan truly understood her. She pulled him into a hug and rested her head on his shoulder as she shouted, “You really do understand me!”
Tsk! Her emotions flip like a light switch! What a troublesome girl, thought Wun Fan. After a lot of trouble, he finally managed to push Hung Yu Fei off of him. Suddenly, Fung Ching let out a weird yelp, as if he had just seen a ghost, “Hung Yu Fei?!”
Fung Ching had walked over to them when he heard a girl cry. He saw Hung Yu Fei as she hugged Wun Fan and immediately panicked. He was trembling in his boots as he thought to himself, Why is this devil of a girl here! His thoughts wandered back to two weeks ago. He had gone back to the capital to visit some relatives and had heard all about the exploits of this girl. The misadventures she had been up to had caused so much trouble that just hearing about them terrified Fung Ching.
She was definitely not a proper lady.
Wun Fan turned his head and glanced at Fung Ching. He noticed that his teeth were chattering involuntarily. Wun Fan turned to look at Hung Yu Fei again and suddenly understood the situation. It seemed like this girl had an infamous reputation of her own. She definitely wasn’t just the niece of the mayor.
“You know me?” said Hung Yu Fei. She lifted her head off Wun Fan’s shoulder to look at Fung Ching, searching her brain for a name.
Cough. Fung Ching cleared his throat and said in a serious tone, “Who wouldn’t have heard of Miss Hung’s name in the capital? I am Fung Ching, branch disciple of the Fung Clan.”
“Oh…” said Hung Yu Fei. Fung Ching was also from the capital and seemed to know of her. She gave him a light smile and said, “Please forgive me if I ever offended you in the past!”
Wun Fan interrupted just then, pointing a finger at Hung Yu Fei and said disdainfully, “This girl must have been an absolute headache, wasn’t she? People must have avoided her wherever she went.”
“Heheh, of course not. Stories of my kind acts are well-known throughout the city!” said Hung Yu Fei as she glared at Fung Ching with a vicious expression. It was clear that she was threatening him to shut up.
Fung Ching nodded and agreed with her words, “Of course. Of course. Everyone knows how kind you are.”
Wun Fan rolled his eyes at Hung Yu Fei. He refused to buy her act of innocence. This girl probably caused so much trouble in the capital that she got thrown out of there. That’s probably why she was here instead.
He couldn’t help but be even more curious now. A girl who could do whatever she wanted in the capital had to be someone with a substantial background. How did her clan let her slip away so easily?
Fung Ching read the room and immediately changed the topic, “May I ask where the two of you are headed?”
“Green Sea Forest!” said Hung Yu Fei excitedly and in great spirits, “We! Are! Going! To! Train!”
“Ouch!” cried Wun Fan. Hung Yu Fei was hopping about while holding onto Wun Fan’s back and accidentally touched the wound on his shoulder. Even with the help of the Spiritstartler Ring, Wun Fan had only managed to heal his back slightly. It still hurt a lot. Hung Yu Fei’s movements pulled at his injuries and he immediately gasped in pain and clasped his wound.
“Not ‘we’! Just me! Don’t you follow me once we reach Green Sea Forest.”
“Oh no, Little Wun, are you injured?” said Hung Yu Fei, quickly changing the topic and ignoring Wun Fan’s words. She lifted Wun Fan’s wrist. She wanted to channel soul energy into his body to examine it.
However, Wun Fan knew the characteristics of his soul energy. He gripped Hung Yu Fei’s hand firmly and shook his head as he said, “No need. I know the extent of my injuries.”
Fung Ching was completely stunned. His brain was out of space, as he was currently experiencing total information overload. He grabbed his head in disbelief and thought to himself, What am I looking at?
The capital would be in an uproar if they could see what he was seeing!

The three of them finally packed up all the things they needed after a while. They continued on their journey. Fung Ching was once again in disbelief when he saw Hung Yu Fei share a horse with Wun Fan. He even offered his own horse for Hung Yu Fei to ride alone, but he quickly and meekly rescinded his offer when she glared at him angrily.
At the same time, Hung Yu Fei was badgering Wun Fan about what happened earlier. However, Wun Fan refused to answer and kept a perfectly still face. In the end, Fung Ching had to do the explanation for him when they took a break. Fung Ching had used a decomposing agent to turn second brother’s corpse into liquid after burying Lau Yi Mung. Wun Fan figured that Fung Ching probably played hero a lot. Why else would he just casually have decomposing agent on him?
After hearing the story, Hung Yu Fei stopped and asked, “So were you badly injured, Little Wun?”
“I’m not. My injuries are a lot better now,” said Wun Fan as he rolled her eyes. He pointed at his back and said, “If you really care about me, then get off and stop sitting behind me. You keep chafing against the injury on my back, then you pretend like you care!”
“Why don’t I ride the horse then? You can sit behind me and hold onto me.”
“In your dreams.”
“Hmph! You have no idea how many men would dream to do that, you foolish kid!”
“Feel free to leave. I won’t stop you. Any day now.”
“You…hmph!” said Hung Yu Fei. She was unhappy with Wun Fan’s attitude. She was spoiled by everybody in the capital. Absolutely no one would go against her word. Meanwhile, Wun Fan was always bossing her around and even dared to hit her. His attitude was always cold too!
“Little boy, you have no idea what a real woman looks like. If you did, you would know how excellent of a woman I am and you would be the first to beg me to look at you!” said Hung Yu Fei proudly as she lifted her chin.
“The luster of a jade does not hide its blemishes,” said Wun Fan as he dug his ear with a finger.
Fung Ching kept very quiet as he watched the two of them banter. He was terrified of being dragged into this whirlpool. He had half a mind to run away immediately. Anything would be better than spending another second next to Hung Yu Fei. He had a mission to accomplish, after all.
However, this whole incident only made him even more impressed with Wun Fan. The boy was clearly three and maybe even four years younger than him, but he had a total handle on Hung Yu Fei.225Please respect copyright.PENANAbSY2nFzXrD
Inside a very large hall, several torches lit the room dimly. The atmosphere was grim and creepy. Anyone who stepped into the hall would feel the oppressive atmosphere and be rather uncomfortable. Wolf totems had been carved onto the pillars of the hall, painted in every color, red, black and green. Every wolf had a different pose and different expression. Some were cold and proud, some were vicious and cunning, and some looked down on everything else with cold indifference.
Every one of the totems was carved with exceptional craftsmanship. They gave the hall an air of harsh solemnity. At the very end of the hall was a chair of stone, with a frightful painting of wolves hunting a tiger painted on it.
Three words were carved onto the large stone wall behind the chair: Green Wolf Gang.225Please respect copyright.PENANAKMIMbgfCJs
