“Old Lei!” shouted Wun Fan in his mind. He wanted to know the opponent’s strength. The instant the bow-wielding teenager conjured his soul energy, Wun Fan could sense that his power was superior to Hung Yu Fei’s. He had to be a Martial Scholar at the very least! Moreover, his breathing was incredibly deep and stable. His soul energy’s aura was also denser than Hung Yu Fei’s. He was light on his feet as well, making him seem like an agile fighter.
“Intermediate Martial Scholar!” said Old Lei. His answer verified Wun Fan’s suspicions and made him feel pressure on his shoulders. This opponent was even stronger than the last one. It was even worse this time, as Wun Fan couldn’t kill this person. After all, judging from his very upright speech and overt show of justice, this teenager was a good person. It would be a waste to kill a teenager with such a strong sense of justice. Wun Fan couldn’t do it. Of course, whether he was actually capable of killing him was a separate matter. His opponent used a bow, which gave him a huge advantage in a skirmish inside the woods.
Swish! Another two arrows shot toward Wun Fan. Wun Fan could see that the teenager was standing even further away this time. He had widened the distance of thirty meters to sixty or even seventy meters and was still firing shots at him. To Wun Fan’s surprise, the accuracy of his arrows didn’t decrease at all. Moreover, the speed of the arrows had increased tremendously. They reached him in less than two seconds.
“Dragon’s Might, Fierce Blast!” cried Wun Fan. He had no choice but to defend himself with a martial technique again. Meanwhile, his feet started moving. He could not let himself become a stationary target!
Wun Fan looked around him and saw a tree so large and wide that it would take several men to encircle it. He immediately hid behind the tree and bought some time for himself to think about his next move. His mind quickly searched through countless images as he slapped himself on the forehead and muttered, “Come on, Wun Fan, think!”
The old man from his past life had been sniped at before as well. Moreover, his opponent was also a bow user, someone who could accurately hit his target from over two hundred meters away.
What did he teach him about that back then…?
He needed to remember it now!
“You think you can just hide?” shouted the bow-wielding teenager, “All rapists can only repent in death!”
With firm and smooth movements, he pulled the bow with his entire body and channelled soul energy through his hand and the longbow onto the arrowhead. His soul energy slowly accumulated on the arrowhead in the shape of a spiral. After five seconds, the arrowhead glowed with a bright green light. Only then, the boy started chanting softly, “Lethality: Concentrated Piercing Shot.”
The fully drawn bow was like a full moon. His fingers loosened and the arrow was unleashed with all its fury. The moment the arrow left the bow, it sliced across the air, causing a sonic boom. The wind pressure from the green arrow violently ripped the grass out of the ground, along with its roots, as it streaked toward Wun Fan’s hiding spot.
Wun Fan’s innate sixth sense told him to lie down on the ground. There was no time!
Wun Fan never doubted his sixth sense. He instantly got down, with his cheek against the ground. The sound of splintering wood rang out above his head as tremendous wind pressure pressed against his neck. He barely dodged it!
Such a large hole was left in a tree as big as that? thought Wun Fan as he glanced up. A massive hole had been drilled through the big tree. The damage was so bad that the tree was swaying as if it was about to collapse. Wun Fan got up and saw the teenager’s figure through the hole in the tree. Their eyes met and the teenager pulled and shot again! Just two seconds later, the arrow passed through the hole and arrived before Wun Fan. However, this arrow didn’t have the power of the previous one. Wun Fan was just barely able to block it with his martial technique.
“Dragon’s Might, Fierce Blast!”
Wun Fan did a kick-up and leapt onto his feet. He channelled soul energy to his feet and started sprinting through the grove. Every few seconds, sometimes after just a few steps, an arrow would arrive and land where Wun Fan was about to step. If it wasn’t for his ridiculous sixth sense helping him dodge and stop in his tracks, he would probably be very dead now.
How should he quickly close sixty, or seventy meters of distance? After all, if he moved toward his opponent, his opponent would simply move back and kite him.
The teenager’s footwork was impeccable, not too much and not too little, always maintaining the same distance to Wun Fan.
This was the perfect distance for sniping. It seemed like the teenager had fought in similar locations plenty of times. He had a lot of combat experience, unlike an amateur like Hung Yu Fei.
The teenager shot nearly twenty arrows and not one of them hit Wun Fan. He couldn’t help but feel frustrated. He saw that he only had ten arrows left in his quiver. He was planning to conserve his soul energy, but there was no need to hold back when it came to vanquishing evil.
He immediately stopped in his tracks and drew his bow fully again. However, the teenager didn’t place an arrow on the bow at all. Instead, soul energy started surging from his finger. Green light appeared on the bow, slowly forming into an arrow. Wun Fan’s silhouette was reflected in the teenager’s pupils as soul energy flickered in his eyes. He let go of his bowstring and let loose the arrow as he said, “Lethality: Blinding Light of Relentless Pursuit.”
The arrow seemed to take on a soul of its own once it left the bow. It rushed straight toward Wun Fan, winding around trees instead of piercing them. It appeared behind Wun Fan in the blink of an eye.
“Bloody hell! Are you done yet?!” shouted Wun Fan helplessly. He just wanted to save someone and instead, he’s knee-deep in trouble. This wasn’t what he planned!
“Dragon’s Might, Fierce Blast!” he cried. Wun Fan didn’t have too many martial techniques to begin with. All his techniques were innately learned from Li’l Black and there were only three of them for now. That said, your average novice Martial Mortal usually only knew one martial technique. Wun Fan was very fortunate to have three techniques to use!
The shockwave of death aura rushed at the green arrow. Violent wind pressure rippled outward when they crashed. However, Wun Fan’s technique did not weaken the green light arrow’s power at all. It only stopped it slightly, before it immediately lunged at Wun Fan again.
Wun Fan took advantage of the half-second he bought with his technique to lean left, successfully avoiding the arrow’s attack. The arrow pierced through the tree behind him instead. Wun Fan thought he was safe until the green arrow turned arrow and shot straight at his face.
“Dragon’s Draw, Forceful Attraction!” shouted Wun Fan. Right before the green arrow buried itself in his body, Wun Fan forcefully applied an attractive force on it, ripping it down below his shoulder. The arrow passed by his ribs and elbow as he once again avoided its attack. However, just two seconds later, the green arrow turned around and continued its pursuit. At the same time, two whistling sounds rang out in the distance. The teenager with the bow saw his opportunity and immediately sealed off all of Wun Fan’s escape paths.
“Dragon’s Claw, Crushing Grip!” Wun Fan shouted. He leaned forward and channelled soul energy to his hands, turning them into vicious claws clad in scales. He grabbed the green arrow tightly and would not let go. The arrow stopped mere millimeters before his eyeballs. His eyes were wide open and a bead of cold sweat rolled down his forehead.
Rip. Two arrows sliced up his back. The cuts were deep, but Wun Fan endured the pain and pulled the green arrow to his right before letting go. The arrow shot past his cheek.
Wun Fan’s continuous use of soul energy had completely drained his meridians. He cried out for help in his mind, “Old Lei! The Spiritstartler Ring!”
“Mm,” said Old Lei in his deep, ancient voice. A large surge of soul energy was drawn from the Spiritstartler Ring and infused into Wun Fan’s body, quickly helping him recover what he had consumed. With the rush of soul energy, he used Dragon’s Claw, Crushing Grip once more, grabbing the green arrow and redirecting it to his right. He barely dodged the attack again.
At the same time, he split his attention in two and channelled soul energy to the muscles on his back. He sealed the wounds and reduced the bleeding to prevent them from affecting him in his fight.
Wun Fan noticed that the light of the green arrow was getting dimmer the longer the distance it travelled. It wasn’t as fast as before, making it easier for him to dodge as well.
However, its relentless nature was far too annoying. This was made even worse by the teenager, who kept shooting as he moved. He was very good at taking advantage of Wun Fan’s weaknesses and left several more wounds on his body. One of the arrows almost hit Wun Fan in the calf, threatening to completely cripple his mobility.
Suddenly, Old Lei spoke, “Kid, let me handle this.”
In all honesty, Old Lei was already very happy with Wun Fan’s performance. It was unthinkable for a novice Martial Mortal to defend himself against an intermediate Martial Scholar without sustaining any major injuries.
Wun Fan’s incredible reactions when backed into a corner were already more than enough for him to be proud of himself. Any other Martial Mortal in his position would be very dead now.
It was time to end this pointless battle. After all, it was silly to waste time in a place like this. Old Lei could finish this in a matter of seconds if he took control of WUn Fan’s body.
However, Wun Fan was stubborn and rejected the idea firmly, “Old Lei, this is no training if I have to borrow your power for such a simple matter.”
Old Lei was stunned for a moment when he heard Wun Fan’s words. He let out a bellowing laugh and looked even more impressed than before as he said, “Good! As expected of a disciple of me, Tai Lei Hiu!”
“Hm? So you’re called Tai Lei Hiu?”
“A disciple who doesn’t even know his master’s name. Pathetic!”

While the two of them were talking, Wun Fan was finally able to crush the green arrow to pieces with his dragon claw. He finally had time to breathe. He stared at the teenager with the bow, who was standing on a tree branch. The two of them locked eyes. It was clear that Wun Fan was furious.
His actions were indeed easy to misunderstand, especially for the people of Heaven’s Martial World. However, his opponent didn’t even try to give him a chance to explain himself. Wasn’t he at fault as well?
The teenager with the bow had already made up his mind. He no longer wanted to reserve any of his martial soul. Although using up all his soul energy while on a journey like this was unwise, he decided he would not hold back. He had to kill this shameless and evil villain. The longbow in his grip started taking in a large amount of soul energy, draining nearly ten percent of his total reserves as he prepared for his next attack.
He lifted the bow and his fingers latched onto the bowstring. He pulled it with all his strength as he placed three arrows on the bow, training it at Wun Fan.
