Inside a room at the Green Sea Town’s Hung Clan.
“Aah!!” A girl’s sharp cry could be heard coming from inside the room. The girl seemed mad. She laughed out loud, then suddenly threw a tantrum. The sound of things breaking came from her room, followed by shouting, “Stupid Wun Fan! Am I so rude to you? How dare you give me an answer like that! You’re dead meat.” Her voice sounded like it was on the verge of tears.
Suddenly, the sound of a wooden closet slamming into the ground could be heard. The person in the room seemed to be quite strong and quite used to throwing tantrums like this. She seemed to be completely berserk at the moment.
Hung Yun Zak and Hung Yuk Huen were sitting in front of each other in a room next door. They looked at each other and smiled. Hung Yun Zak said softly, “Oh my, I can’t believe that little Fei Fei is getting married soon. I’m sure my big brother will be happy to see this.”
“Of course, sir,” said Hung Yuk Huen with a nod. However, she couldn’t help but think to herself, The boy’s family is just a branch house in a small town. They probably will not give up a chance to be connected to the Hung Clan’s origin house.
Hung Yuk Huen felt more confident and a little less burdened at the thought of that.
The most important thing is that she had an explanation for the head of the clan.
“Haha, don’t be so formal. You can just call be Yun Zak,” said Hung Yun Zak with a shy smile. He raised a hand to pat Hung Yuk Huen on the shoulder, but the woman took a casual step back and avoided his pat. She smiled and said, “I wouldn’t dare, sir. We must respect hierarchy in the clan.”
“Hmph! Why is everyone like that?” said Hung Yun Zak with a pout. He suddenly took out a small parchment. The parchment had just been delivered recently by a pigeon. He unscrolled it and read its contents. He recognized it as the words of his dear brother and smiled as he said, “Well well, my brother has always been harsh with his words while being soft at his heart. He still cares the most about his daughter.”
A few words were written clearly and neatly on the parchment paper: ‘If anything happens to Fei, you are dead.’
Hung Yun Zak chuckled as he put the parchment paper away. He then said, “Alright, go in and keep her company. Don’t let her break everything in my room. My things are quite expensive, you know?”
“Yes, sir,” said Hung Yuk Huen, feeling as if a great burden had been lifted from her shoulders. She rushed into the room, only to have Hung Yu Fei shout at her, “Sister Huen, why did you make that decision by yourself? Why did you propose a marriage with him?!”
Hung Yun Zak’s expression turned dark. He narrowed his eyes, frowned and walked away.

The Wun Mansion of Green Sea Town. Inside the meeting hall.
Compared to the peace of the Hung Clan, the Wun Clan had a very odd atmosphere.
Only five people were in the meeting hall, Wun Ching Yeung, the great elder, the third elder, Wun Fan and Wun Siu Lan. The three adults were staring at Wun Fan in complete befuddlement. They had no idea how an eleven-year-old boy managed to bring such trouble back home with him after a single expedition away from home. Meanwhile, Siu Lan had closed her eyes and was quietly channelling the Tai Clan’s Mantra of Imperial Flame to absorb aether and recover her soul energy.
She didn’t want to look at Wun Fan at all.
“Alright, tell us, what happened?” said Wun Ching Yeung in an annoyed tone. He seemed to blame Wun Fan for this trouble. After all, they were basically being forced into a marriage. Their clan definitely stood to benefit from this arrangement, but Wun Ching Yeung was not happy about being threatened.
More importantly, this concerned the dignity of the clan. What would people make of the Wun Clan if they knew that they had been forced to agree to a marriage proposal?
“Er…about that, I really have no idea,” said Wun Fan. He was very confused himself and could only chuckle in response. Wun Siu Lan opened her eyes and said coldly, “Given Wun Fan’s emotional intelligence and intellect, I believe that he truly has no idea.”
Wun Siu Lan was very upset about what happened today. That girl was so arrogant and unreasonable and yet she couldn’t do anything about her. Of course there was nothing she could do when the girl was protected by a peak Martial Spirit. Wun Siu Lan cursed her own lack of power.
However, Siu Lan was very, very agitated. She didn’t even know if she was agitated because of her lack of power or because of Hung Yu Fei’s feelings toward Wun Fan.
“My sister really is the one who knows me best,” says Wun Fan, happy that at least one person believed in him. He couldn’t help but notice her new mask. He pointed at it and asked, “Is this new? I’ve never seen it before.”
However, Wun Siu Lan’s temper flared at that moment. She was just looking for a way to vent her anger right then. She grabbed Wun Fan’s finger with her right hand and snapped it to the right. A loud cracking sound could be heard.
“Owww!” cried Wun Fan. The pain of having his finger suddenly broken was too much to bear. It shot through his body like a thousand knives. That said, the expression of pain on his face was definitely exaggerated. If you looked at him, you would have thought that someone was cutting his stomach open while he was alive and scraping his bones with a sword.
Wun Siu Lan scoffed and got up from her seat. The chair shattered from the soul energy radiating from her body. She still looked annoyed as she stormed out of the meeting hall.
“Where are you going?” asked Wun Ching Yeung worriedly.
“To train!” shouted Siu Lan without even turning her head. She was going to put all her effort into training and become powerful as quickly as possible. She thought to herself, Just wait for me, peak Martial Spirit.
Wun Ching Yeung rubbed his temples. He felt a headache coming on. He asked, “What do you think about this marriage, Fan?”
Whoever tied the knot has to be the one who unfastens the knot. Naturally, the boy who’s involved in this has to give his opinion. Moreover, the other party is the daughter of an origin house and this issue seems to involve a precious ancestral technique that can only be used one. It will be very problematic if they cannot give the Hung Clan a satisfactory answer.
Wun Fan took a deep breath. There was a loud snap as he put his finger back into its original position. He gritted his teeth and spoke to Old Lei in his mind, “Old Lei, aether please.”
“Mm,” replied his mentor. The Spiritstartler Ring immediately activated, channelling a large amount of aether to Wun Fan’s index finger. The aether filled the gaps in his broken bones and reduced his pain slightly.
This allowed Wun Fan to better think about Wun Ching Yeung’s question.
“Let me talk this over with her,” said Wun Fan with a solemn expression after some thought.
In all honesty, even he did not understand what happened. However, Hung Yuk Huen must have proposed the marriage for a reason. He had a responsibility to see things through.
If that was the cause, the best course of option was to invite Hung Yu Fei for a proper discussion.
At the very least, it would help clear up the situation.
That said, today was probably not a good time. It was best to wait a few days for things to settle down before he talked with Hung Yu Fei.
“I suppose that is our only option,” said Wun Ching Yeung. He knew that rushing things would only create more problems. This was a significant issue that involved many parties. It was not something that could be solved quickly. If that was the case, it was better to trust the process and let things stew for a while.
“With all that said, I have to say, your progress surprises me, kid,” said the great elder after staying silent all the while. He continued, “You went from a novice Martial Mortal to an intermediate Martial Vassal in just two weeks. This progress worries me.”
There are many villains in Heaven’s Martial World that increase their power through evil and unethical methods. These methods are often very effective and can help a person gain power quickly.
The great elder did not wish to see a good boy like Wun Fan walk down a path of evil. He was talented enough to become an incredibly powerful martial artist on his own merits. Moreover, if he ended up becoming a murderous psychopath because of his evil actions, he would become a villain hated and persecuted by everyone.
Suddenly, Wun Fan’s eyes turned a dark green and green flames cloaked his entire body. He flicked his fingers and a dozen green lights immediately sealed the doors and windows of the meeting hall. No one would be allowed to see or hear what happened next.
‘Wun Fan’ said in his childish voice, “That is no problem. I can guarantee that there is nothing wrong with Wun Fan’s heart and mind, even if his cultivation method is questionable.”
Old Lei decided to speak for Wun Fan so that he would not need to reveal how he improved so quickly. After all, Wun Fan’s cultivation method goes against the laws of nature and the ethics of mankind. Not everyone will be able to accept his actions.
There are always people who are eager to dole out punishment in the name of justice.
“If you have spoken, Mr. Lei, we will believe your words,” said the great elder. He had crossed swords with Old Lei the night of Wun Fan’s tribulations and knew that he was willing to lay down his life for Wun Fan. He had faith in Old Lei’s strength and character.
It was obvious that a single sentence from Old Lei was more convincing than anything Wun Fan could have come up with.
The third elder was quiet as usual and listened without speaking. The truth was that he had no good ideas to offer to the discussion. So, there was simply no need to speak up.
“Mm, Old Lei, about that peak Martial Spirit…” said Wun Ching Yeung hesitantly. He wasn’t sure how to express his thoughts here.
However, Old Lei knew people well enough to figure out Wun Ching Yeung’s question. He replied, “I will be honest with you. I will not exaggerate my abilities. After all, I am only a spirit with a fragment of my powers remaining. However, I will have no problem protecting your son.”
“Haha, that’s more than enough!” said Wun Ching Yeung with a hearty laugh. He had gotten the answer he was looking for and was no longer worried. On the other hand, it was the great elder who seemed like he had something on his mind.
