Fung Ching felt like he was wasting the aether by burping it up. He immediately took out another quiver from his storage ring. He grabbed three arrows between his fingers at the same time and placed them on his bow, his movement smooth as butter. Fung Ching exhausted all of the soul energy in him as he shouted, “Die, rapist!”
“Lethality: Song of the Magical Beasts!”
Chai Chau Chin had been sprinting at them at full speed. He saw Fung Ching swallow a pill and instantly recover to peak condition and was utterly speechless. He shouted back at him, “Despicable!”
“Hmph! Scum like you calling me despicable?” retorted Fung Ching. Having pills was part of their strength. The bandits were the ones attacking the three of them with thirteen men.
Chai Chau Chin immediately halted his momentum and started zigzagging his way forward instead. He was trying to find the best angle and opportunity to charge at them. At the same time, he silently observed Lei Wo’s progress. The peak Martial Vassal was almost patched up. They had removed the arrow and put some powder on his injury to stop the bleeding. He was also starting to use soul energy to mend the wound. Chai Chau Chin just needed to buy a little more time and Lei Wo would be able to join the fray as well.
In all honesty, Wun Fan didn’t expect the Guild’s guard to execute a member of the Green Wolf Gang. That had been beyond his expectation. However, every plan should be adapted according to the circumstances.
Wun Fan wasn’t actually confident in killing Chai Chau Chin. After all, it was easy to defeat a formidable opponent, but killing them would often require paying a hefty price. That was why Wun Fan’s original intentions were to kill the remaining twelve bandits and let Chai Chau Chin escape alive. While this was akin to letting a cornered tiger return to its lair, there was no real need to fight him to the death right now.
That said, the appearance of the guard gave them more leverage to exploit. Wun Fan immediately changed his plans.
“Girl, do it!” said Wun Fan. His orders were always simple and straight to the point. The battlefield was a place of dynamic change. Every second counted. There was no time to waste.
“Lethality: Sky Waters Float Falling Flowers; Falling Flowers’ Thousand Spinning Dance,” said Hung Yu Fei, choosing to ignore Wun Fan’s rude tone. She immediately used up ninety percent of her soul energy to send a wave of crimson flowers into the sky. There was no hesitation from her at all. One after another, the crimson flowers shot into the sky and hovered in midair. Hung Yu Fei flicked her finger and the flowers started spinning violently as they crashed.
They left behind a crimson trail as they shot toward the ground like silver stars crashing from the heavens. It was terrifying to behold. Chai Chau Chin could not use any martial techniques at all, or risk provoking the guard. However, the attacks coming from above were simply too numerous. He could choose to just take a hit with his body, but the injuries he would sustain from that would definitely affect his battle. Moreover, al he needed to do was buy more time until Lei Wo could join him. There was no reason to risk injury by attacking the three teenagers. Moreover, Fung Ching’s three arrows were still aimed at him. Those arrows would main him if he showed even a moment’s weakness.
As such, Chai Chau Chin focused only on avoiding the attacks. He never expected a young girl like her to unleash such a powerful martial technique. Either way, there was no way she could repeat it over and over. Once this technique started to die down, it would be his opportunity to counter-attack.
The crimson flowers that hit the ground drilled large holes the size of a palm into the earth. Chai Chau Chin saw this and was glad he played it safe. However, Wun Fan’s target wasn’t him at all!
Wun Fan pointed with his fingers again. Fung Ching had picked up Wun Fan’s mischievous smile. He smiled and moved, aiming his arrows at Lei Wo and the peak Martial Vassal. Chai Chau Chin saw this and was puzzled for a second. However, he immediately shouted angrily, “No!”
“Shoot,” said Wun Fan. Fung Ching’s fingers let loose. The three arrows howled like beasts as they stampeded across the air.
Boom!
The three arrows blasted a giant crater into the ground. The peak Martial Vassal who had been lying down couldn’t respond at all. He was dead on impact. On the other hand, Lei Wo retreated the moment he noticed Wun Fan and Fung Ching’s malicious intentions. However, he was too late. He failed to avoid the attack entirely and his left foot was blown off. All of a sudden, he was no longer fit for combat.
Lei Wo clasped his injury and howled in pain. He shouted in a resentful tone, “Didn’t you say you would deal with them?”
“Aaaaaah!!!!!” screamed Chai Chau Chin once again. To think they would kill his squad members in front of him again and again. They had even crippled Lei Wo, who was a novice Martial Scholar! He had no way of explaining this to the leader. Even if he managed to survive, he would be executed for his failures. What exactly had he gotten himself into?
Chai Chau Chin had thought of fleeing from this situation and from his leader as well. However, there were simply too many lackeys of the Green Wolf Gang near the Green Sea Forest. Escaping was not such an easy feat. Regardless of what his choice was, he swore to himself he would kill these three teenagers first!
“They keep attacking us and you turn a blind eye to them?!” said Chai Chau Chin to the guard with a bewildered expression. The guard simply chuckled as he dug his ear and replied, “They stepped past the boundary line. What they do is their business.”
Chai Chau Chin almost felt like coughing up blood when he heard this.
Meanwhile, on the other side, Fung Ching had already recovered ninety percent of his soul energy after exhausting it again. The Energy Restoration Pill was simply too powerful. He drew his bow fully but didn’t place an arrow on it. Green light gathered on his bowstring. His soul energy was completely depleted again as he said, “Lethality: Blinding Light of Relentless Pursuit!”
A blinding light that will pursue for a thousand miles and more!
The arrow locked onto Chai Chau Chin. He decided to avoid the attack and group up with Lei Wo first. As he scrambled to rally with his ally, he noticed, to his horror, that Hung Yu Fei was doing the same despicable thing that Fung Ching did. She took out a pill from her ring. She even bit her lower lip slightly, like she was looking at something delicious.
This girl was such a glutton, she was thinking about the taste of the pill!
Her red lips parted as she swallowed the pill. She gulped and her empty meridians were instantly flooded with aether. She felt a little bloated and uncomfortable because of it, but aether was still being produced from inside her stomach. Her meridians were starting to rupture from the sheer amount of aether.
“Girl, use your techniques!” shouted Wun Fan when he saw her stand there like an idiot. A Grade Six Energy Restoration Pill could fully restore the aether of an Innate Martial Master. If a peak Martial Vassal were to consume it and do nothing, they might just explode from the flood of aether being generated inside them. That would be a disaster!
Hung Yu Fei immediately snapped back to her senses. She depleted all of her soul energy to send even more crimson flowers into the air. It was that powerful technique of hers again. She completely sealed off Chai Chau Chin’s path of escape. Wun Fan wasn’t watching from the sidelines either. He used up all his soul energy and found the best timing to strike. He shouted, “Lethality: Dragon’s Might, Fierce Blast!”
The shockwave hit Chai Chau Chin on his ankle and caused him to fall to the ground. Wun Fan’s technique might be weak, but used at the right time, it could be a dangerously effective tool, much like a single nail that punctures a tire could cause a car crash!
“Lock on!” shouted Wun Fan to Fung Ching. He turned back to look and saw that his companion was already aiming down the sights with his Song of the Magical Beasts. Wun Fan chuckled and said, “An accident is about to happen.”
Fung Ching let his fingers loose and three arrows shot out again, aiming straight for Chai Chau Chin’s face! If this technique were to hit him with the Blinding Light of Relentless Pursuit at the same time, Chai Chau Chin would be completely crippled, if not outright dead. It would be a simple matter of finishing him off then.
Just as Chai Chau Chin was about to be hit, Lei Wo moved. He was a tough man. When faced with a choice, he chose his brother’s life over his own. He conjured his soul energy, summoned his martial soul and shouted, “Lethality: Hungry Ghost Substitute!”
Lei Wo did a handstand and walked with his hands instead of his feet. He lunged before Chai Chau Chin and took the two attacks for him. The power of Hungry Ghost Substitute allowed him to completely absorb the damage. The shockwave from the explosion was completely absorbed, as if devoured by a hungry wolf!
At the most crucial moment, he chose to sacrifice his life to save his captain. He voluntarily made himself a meat shield.
A hole the size of two palms was blasted into his back. Blood poured out of the wound like a river onto Chai Chau Chin’s face. Lei Wo saw the guard concentrating saber energy in the distance. He immediately struck Chai Chau Chin on the back, forcing the man back onto his feet. Chai Chau Chin stumbled a few steps forward, just out of range of the guard’s attack.
Lei Wo did his very best for his last efforts. He howled twice, “Lethality: Green Wolf’s Howl! Lethality: Fearless Rhythm!”
Chai Chau Chin immediately felt his skin harden and his strength increase when he heard the howl. He no longer felt the pain from his wounds and felt an overwhelming bloodlust to tear the three kids into pieces. He never thought that he would forever be separated from his brothers when the lot of them had just been merrily discussing a trip to the Wolf Bride’s Pavilion just this morning!
“Lethality: White Blade Severs the Wind,” said the guard. He once again enforced the dignity of the Guild with blood. Saber energy shot forth. Violent winds rippled. A head fell to the ground.206Please respect copyright.PENANAYLf8GIqmrv
