The strange phenomenon of a sea pouring from the sky finally stopped after ten seconds.
Wun Siu Lan’s heart had practically stopped as well.
“Kid!” Old Lei saw Wun Fan’s entire body being crushed to a pulp under the immense weight of the Maximal Overflow lightning. He looked completely lost. He truly never expected this to be the result.
He had just been talking and bantering with Wun Fan not too long ago. How did things end up like this?
It was all his fault. Why did he tell Wun Fan to take two Pills of Meridian Fortification? Old Lei questioned himself endlessly, regretting his careless actions that resulted in Wun Fan’s death before the lightning tribulation.
“Fan!” Soulrending, heartbreaking pain echoed in Siu Lan when she saw Wun Fan’s tragic fate. Her clear, soothing voice turned hoarse from her desperate scream and tears of blood streaked down her cheeks, staining the collar of her shirt. She could not lift a single finger, no matter how hard she tried. All she could do was stare at the great elder with hatred in her eyes. There was no doubt that there was no one Wun Siu Lan hated more than the great elder at this moment. She hated him with the kind of hatred that would outlast a single lifetime and carry on for countless reincarnations.
The great elder couldn’t be bothered by the way Wun Siu Lan was looking at him. He was transfixed by the sight of Wun Fan’s body. He crumpled to his knees, as if a pillar inside him had been knocked down. The tears of an old man covered his face. Wun Ching Yeung stood stunned on the spot, as if he had lost his soul. He could not come back to his senses no matter what he tried. It almost seemed like he had forgotten how to breathe. He could not snap back to reality; he could only watch.
“Wun Sing, why did you stop me?!” Wun Siu Lan howled at the great elder. Red flames erupted all over her body once again as she absorbed aether recklessly from all around her. Amazingly, the red flame separated all impure elements, allowing pure aether to surge straight into Wun Siu Lan’s body. A vortex formed around Wun Siu Lan and her soul energy increased by leaps and bounds.
Wun Siu Lan instantly broke past the threshold of peak Martial Mortal, rushed past the realm of peak Martial Vassal and achieved the power of an advanced Martial Scholar. She had gained six minor martial realms’ of power in a single instant. The great elder sensed the abnormality in Wun Siu Lan’s aura and turned to look. His expression turned into one of disbelief when he realized that Wun Siu Lan had become a Martial Scholar.
Wun Ching Yeung, the third elder and the seven shadow guards looked at Wun Siu Lan in bewilderment. Only Old Lei flashed a bitter smile. He stared at Wun Siu Lan in resignation as he thought to himself, As expected…
Three of the colored blotches on Wun Siu Lan’s face faded away rapidly until they were completely gone. Siu Lan stared coldly into the air and said with an even colder voice, “The third flame, Turbid Bone-eater is its name, ashes to ashes all two hundred and sixty bones it claims.”
Lethality: Turbid Bone-eating Flame.
A cold and pale-white fire ignited on Wun Siu Lan’s body. When it came into contact with the great elder’s energy swords, it rapidly eroded and assimilated the aether within, spreading the fire even further away.
Suddenly, Wun Siu Lan’s body was no longer restricted. She could move now. She dashed past the great elder, her eyes hollow and empty as they swept past the old man. She looked heartbroken and lost. Covered in blood, she was the very image of someone who had lost everything dear to her.
She slowly approached Wun Fan’s body. Her movements were stiff and stilted, like those of a puppet. A chilling breeze blew past, making everything seem even more tragic than it was.
Siu Lan suddenly felt a tremor in her heart. She felt restless. Her eyes flitted upward and saw a thundercloud rapidly forming into yet another tribulation cloud. The energy of the lightning within was comparable to that of the Maximal Overflow lightning. Wun Ching Yeung and the great elder were on the verge of breaking down when they saw this.
Hadn’t Wun Siu Lan already awakened her martial soul? Why had another heavenly tribulation arrived for her?
One child’s body had not even been put to rest yet and his other child was staring down another tribulation cloud. Despair clouded Wun Ching Yeung’s heart. What had he done in a previous life to deserve this?
Wun Siu Lan glanced at the thundercloud with indifference. She turned her head aside and said stiffly to the heavens, “Even you want to stop me from meeting Fan?”
The thundercloud roared and crackled with lightning, as if in response to Wun Siu Lan’s words. The shape of the cloud was very strange. It resembled a hammer. Old Lei stared at the cloud and felt the power it contained. He blurted in surprise, “Lightning of the Emperor’s Flight?”
Lightning of the Emperor’s Flight was lightning that only those truly blessed by the heavens would face. As the name implies, even Martial Kings would flee before this lightning!
Two powerful tribulations rumbled in the skies. It was a horrifying and unprecedented scene. Perhaps such a thing would never ever be seen again.
Wun Siu Lan ignored the tribulation cloud above her head and kept walking toward Wun Fan. Wun Ching Yeung tried to approach and stop her, but the great elder pulled him back, “No. If you get close to Siu Lan now, you might draw the hostility of the tribulation cloud.”
“What should I do, great elder?” There were tears in Wun Ching Yeung’s eyes. He had lived for decades and this was the first time he felt so helpless and lost. He had nothing to regret, even back then when he had to carry the family’s fate on his shoulders and settle in a rural town on the edge of the Empire. Yet now, he hated the burden on his shoulders. He hated the fact that he could not do anything to save his children as they were killed before his eyes.
After all, if someone were to intentionally interfere in the tribulation of another martial artist, it would be seen as an obstruction of heaven’s justice. The power of the tribulation lightning would take into account the presence of the interfering party and multiply several-fold.
What would the Wun Clan do if Wun Ching Yeung died?
The bloody figure beneath the clouds was still staring at the bloody mess that was once Wun Fan. There were no longer any more tears that could flow out of her eyes.
She refused to accept this reality. Green light glowed from both her hands. She got close to Wun Fan and said gently, “The fourth flame, Reincarnation is its name, life and death are but a game.”
Lethality: Six Paths Reincarnation Flame.
Emerald fire engulfed Wun Fan, its power slowly seeping into the bloody pulp of flesh, rapidly restoring the tissues and structures of a human body. Old Lei was stunned to see this. He thought to himself in befuddlement, It’s the Six Paths Reincarnation Flame.
He snapped back to his senses and immediately shouted, “Stop, girl!” If things continued at this rate, Siu Lan would be seen as interfering in Wun Fan’s tribulation!271Please respect copyright.PENANA9Mw8dPBJye
Wun Fan was in a dazed state. He opened his eyes and found that he was inside the Spiritstartler Ring. He could hear Wun Siu Lan call his name over and over from within the ring. His eyes turned red and tears flowed despite his spirit body.
He never expected Siu Lan to cast her life aside just to be by his side in his final moments. Wun Fan wondered to himself what would happen now that his body was gone, but his soul was still intact. Was he to follow in the footsteps of Old Lei?
Suddenly, his consciousness was booted out by the Spiritstartler Ring. He started wandering in a pile of fleshy pulp.
“Is this my body?” Wun Fan’s soul looked around. This bloody mess was indeed his own body. He couldn’t help but smile bitterly.
However, the Spiritstartler Ring responded in a way very reminiscent of Old Lei. It expressed a disdainful emotion before releasing a terrifying surge of pure aether from the thumb; or where Wun Fan’s thumb was supposed to be, at least.
Where the aether went, it reformed the meridians and the skeleton of Wun Fan’s body. The aether started from small to large. Crushed bones were reformed into tiny bone pieces, before they were merged together to form large bone pieces, which were themselves put together into proper bones. Each bone was connected with another to form the skeleton. The same thing happened with the meridians. Slowly but surely, everything was being reconstructed.
Wun Siu Lan was sitting beside Wun Fan’s body. Her crying broke into a smile when she saw Wun Fan’s right arm slowly reform, first the fingers, then the wrist, “It’s working. It’s actually working.”
Without another word, Wun Siu Lan summoned her martial soul and increased the output of soul energy from her body. The power of the Six Paths Reincarnation Flame was boosted even further. The green flames slowly seeped into Wun Fan’s body, hastening the speed at which it was regenerating.
“What…Young Master Fan’s body appears to be swelling up…” One of the shadow guards noticed the strange sight and pointed weakly at Wun Fan.
“What nonsense are you speaking of?” the third elder could no longer hold back his anger when he heard a shadow guard spout such gibberish. Just as he was about to lay into the shadow guard, he noticed that everyone was staring at Wun Fan’s body.
“What is this?” Even Old Lei couldn’t believe what he was seeing. He had lived for countless years and he truly never expected to ever see such a miracle happen!271Please respect copyright.PENANAqcZaFftV2j
