“Oh right, you probably don’t know about them,” said Wun Fan. He remembered that Old Lei had been puzzled by his familiarity with Buddhist concepts like karma, cause and effect and reincarnation. Old Lei even mentioned the ‘Buddhistas’. It was very likely that monks were not common here in Heaven’s Martial World. Wun Fan immediately changed his story and continued, “There is a clan whose disciples are not allowed to commit murder or engage in sexual intercourse.”
“Mm,” said Wun Ping with a nod.
“One day, two disciples from this clan set out on a journey. It slowly turned dark as they walked. They came across a young woman who was extremely beautiful and dressed lightly. There was a large puddle on the road due to the heavy rain and the woman had no way of crossing. She asked the two disciples for help.”
“The older disciple initially refused her request, but the younger disciple immediately carried the girl over the puddle. Seeing as it was late, the woman offered to provide the two disciples with housing as thanks for their help. The two of them refused her and stayed over in a temple instead. The older disciple was restless for the entire night. He couldn’t understand why the younger disciple agreed to help the woman. He was awake well into midnight, tossing and turning.”
“The younger disciple saw this and asked, ‘What’s wrong, senior?’ The older disciple seemed troubled and said awkwardly, ‘You touched the woman just now when you helped her. Isn’t that not very good?’”
“The younger disciple smiled and said, ‘I have already let go of the woman from earlier. Are you still holding on to her?’”
Wun Fan did not look at Wun Ping again after finishing his story. He slowly stood up and strolled across the training grounds, humming a song to himself as he got used to the weight of the mutesoul armor.
Wun Ping was left alone to contemplate on the training grounds.62Please respect copyright.PENANAaa81qJDiR5
Hung Yun Zak and Hung Yuk Huen were sitting across from each other and having breakfast in silence.
Suddenly, Hung Yun Zak spoke, “The night that Yu Fei used her Crimson Kiss, you saw it happen, didn’t you?”
Hung Yuk Huen was worried that someone would find out what happened. Even though the clan head said that it would be fine as long as Hung Yu Fei did not die, she never expected Hung Yu Fei to do something as ridiculous as use the Crimson Kiss. That was something that would affect her entire life. That wouldn’t be such a big deal, except that the Crimson Kiss did not seem to affect the boy at all. Hung Yuk Huen could not believe this. The love mark of the Crimson Kiss incredibly powerful. It should be effective even when used against someone two major realms above the user.
As a Martial Spirit, Hung Yuk Huen could probably charm a Martial Black with her Crimson Kiss!
More importantly for her, she had to bring Wun Fan back with her. That way, all the blame would fall on Hung Yu Fei alone. However, if Wun Fan refused to marry Hung Yu Fei, the clan head would probably hold her accountable as well.
“I-I did see it happen, but the whole thing happened so fast…I…” stuttered Hung Yuk Huen.
“You’re a Martial Spirit. Surely you could have done something,” said Hung Yun Zak as he put on his lipstick. He smacked his lips and made sure they were moisturized. He was relaxed and turned his palm over to make sure his nails were not scratched.
“But-but it was too late for me too…” said Hung Yuk Huen. She could barely keep talking. This was the first time she felt so powerless ever since she became a Martial Spirit. She didn’t know what to say.
“That’s enough. I’ve investigated the whole thing and figured out what happened,” said Hung Yun Zak as he took out some perfume and sprayed it on himself. He felt invigorated and refreshed when he smelled the scent. This was a newly made perfume. It had the smell of a fresh daisy and reminded him of a girl’s innocence. He suddenly had an inspiration. Perhaps he should make more light, daisy-like scents?
“Really?” said Hung Yuk Huen excitedly. She suddenly had a much better imrpession of Hung Yun Zak. He might be a brutal and cruel person to outsiders who will not hesitate to kill, but he was very nice to people from the clan.
“Fei is my niece after all. I won’t stand by and watch as she suffers,” said Hung Yun Zak as he used his chopsticks to pick up a piece of dessert and place it in his mouth. He chewed gently as he said, “You can come out. It’s good for you to know more as well.”
“Hehe,” said Hung Yu Fei with a giggle. She had been eavesdropping outside the room since a while ago. Hung Yuk Huen should have been able to detect her, but she was too distracted to notice.
“Uncle, do you mean it?” said Hung Yu Fei. It was the first time she was acting all cute with Hung Yun Zak. After all, she needed his help. Moreover, she had no idea about Hung Yun Zak’s secret, so she wasn’t afraid of him at all. However, Hung Yuk Huen couldn’t help but be a little worried that they were getting so close.
Hung Yun Zak got a little excited when he felt Hung Yu Fei’s youthful body pressing against him. However, he reminded himself that this was his niece and that he had to act properly.
Hung Yun Zak smacked her on her butt and said, “Move aside, you little troublemaker.”
She had a bouncy butt.
“Uncle, you bully,” said Hung Yu Fei as she pouted cutely. Hung Yuk Huen found the whole thing a bit strange, but she said nothing.
Hung Yun Zak poured some tea for himself and took a sip. He then slowly explained, “The boy has a powerful spirit body with him. The spirit might have dispelled the love mark.”
“What?” said Hung Yu Fei angrily. Her brows knit together in frustration. Hung Yuk Huen seemed to have a revelation when she heard this and muttered to herself, “No wonder his aura would be strong at times and weak at others. And that strange fire. So this is why.”
They did not realize she had been following them, did they? Hung Yuk Huen recalled Wun Fan’s reaction from the other day. It seemed like it was the first time he saw her, which means that they probably did not detect her presence.
“Then what should I do?” said Hung Yu Fei as she rubbed her butt. Her uncle had hit her a little too hard. Her right butt was swelling.
Hung Yun Zak saw her action and tried his best to look away. He closed his eyes, sipped his tea and said, “Wait a little longer. I’ll bring you with me to the Wun Clan and I will talk with Wun Ching Yeung.”
“Wun Ching Yeung is…?” asked Hung Yu Fei with a confused expression.
“His dad!” said Hung Yun Zak as he flicked his palm. A green leaf hit Hung Yu Fei on the forehead and left a red bruise there.62Please respect copyright.PENANAtAucmFZ1wF
The training grounds of the Wun Mansion.
Wun Fan let Wun Ping mull over the story he had just told. He himself needed to absorb the energy from the Spiritstartler Ring. He took deep breaths as he walked. At the same time, he was absorbing the aether from the Spiritstartler Ring and turning it into soul energy. He was increasing the volume of his soul energy and using it to advance further.
As an intermediate Martial Vassal, Wun Fan had already finished refining his spine and his leg bones.
All of his soul energy was being used to refine his arm bones. Once he had fully opened up his arms, his soul energy would be able to flow freely and he would become an advanced Martial Vassal. Wun Fan was refining his bones while getting used to the weight of the mutesoul armor. He had no problem multi-tasking like this.
Wun Fan would envelop the impurities from refining his bones in soul energy and slowly secrete them from his skin. These impurities were expelled as dirt and absorbed by his innerwear. Wun Fan could feel his progress. He would become an advanced Martial Vassal if he kept this up for one or two more days!
Wun Fan observed the disciples training on the training grounds as he continued his stroll.
Time passed quickly. Soon, it was noon. Even though the sun was burning bright in the sky, the disciples found a sudden surge of motivation when they noticed the legendary young master of the Wun Clan watching them train. They continued training hard without stopping to rest. Some of the younger disciples had blisters on their arms and legs from weight training, but they still refused to rest. In fact, they worked even harder than before to surpass their limits. After all, if they worked hard, they might just become the next Wun Fan!
Wun Fan had become the aspirational goal and motivational pillar of all the younger Wun Clan members!
Wun Fan was still looking at the disciples when he saw Wun Ching Yeung walk out of the meeting room and head toward the gates. Suddenly, Old Lei’s cautious voice rang out in his mind, “Kid, the auras belong to Hung Yun Zak and that Martial Spirit.”
Old Lei’s words immediately caught Wun Fan’s attention. His expression turned dark. He had discovered many of Hung Yun Zak’s secrets after that battle yesterday and now he was visiting the Wun Mansion with the Martial Spirit in tow. What was he planning?
Did he want revenge? Did he dare to so brazenly start a fight at the Wun Clan?
Wun Fan had always believed that his father was one of the most powerful people in Green Sea Town. However, after witnessing Hung Yun Zak and Hung Yuk Huen’s power, Wun Fan knew that his father only appeared to be the strongest.
There were many other forces hidden in the shadows that were potentially stronger than his father.
Did the Wun Clan have such hidden forces as well?
However, Old Lei’s next words surprised Wun Fan even more, “The Hung girl is here as well.”
“Huh? What’s she doing here?” said Wun Fan in a panic. He recalled what Hung Yuk Huen said the other day and couldn’t help but be a little nervous. He remembered what happened that night. Hung Yu Fei had said that he owed her ‘a drop of blood’. Wun Fan remembered seeing a drop of blood on the red flower that Hung Yu Fei pressed against his wound. A strange energy had entered his body at that time.
Even though the Spiritstartler Ring had dealt with that drop of blood, that blood was filled with a weird charm. That couldn’t be something like her virgin’s blood, could it? Wun Fan got goosebumps at the thought of that.
Just then, Hung Yun Zak walked into the Wun Mansion with his arm over Wun Ching Yeung’s shoulders. Wun Ching Yeung looked a little apologetic as he welcomed Hung Yun Zak and led him to the meeting hall. He glared at Wun Fan along the way, as if telling him that he was toast if he didn’t deal with this problem.
Hung Yun Zak also turned to look at Wun Fan. He flashed a kind smile at him as if nothing had happened yesterday. He waved his hand and beckoned for Wun Fan to join them in the meeting hall.
Two more people slowly walked into the hall after him. It was Hung Yu Fei and Hung Yuk Huen.
Hung Yuk Huen was pretty and elegant.
Meanwhile, Hung Yu Fei had taken the extra effort to dress up. She wasn’t like her usual tomboy self and was unbelievably beautiful.62Please respect copyright.PENANArNj7Ekzfgk
