Wun Fan arrived at the market and saw a bustling crowd. The traffic was much busier than usual. Could that have something to do with the auction happening today? Wun Fan even saw grand and luxurious carriages driving down the main road as he walked, probably rushing to get some wealthy merchant to the auction.
It’s said that not every town had a Thousand Relics Auctions of its own. The Chan Clan would only set up a Thousand Relics Auctions in a place where valuable items frequently appear. As such, people from some of the further and more remote towns would rush to Green Sea Town when they heard of treasure being auctioned at the auction house. This included martial artists, alchemists, merchants, and government officials of all kinds.
Wun Fan looked around him and saw people everywhere. Some were dressed in fancy and expensive costumes, some only had dusty clothes, some were fully equipped with weapons and armor and others looked like they were dressed for a casual trip. Wun Fan became interested in the auction today.
Wun Fan passed through the crowded roads with much difficulty, made his way through the Shop Zone and finally arrived at the entrance of Thousand Relics Auctions. He could see many people waiting outside the doors. The maids waiting outside showed no signs of hurry. They smiled kindly as they looked upon the fat sheep waiting to be culled. There were a few well-dressed guards as well, with a badge tied to their waist. There was no doubt that these were servants of the Chan Clan.
Of course, the doors remained shut and no one dared to enter without permission. What ordinary person would dare infringe on the dignity of the great Chan Clan?
“Hey shortie, what are you squeezing about for?” one of the martial artists couldn’t help but swear when he saw Wun Fan try so hard to squeeze his way through the crowd, “Rushing to your grave? Thousand Relics Auctions won’t let you in until it’s time. You think they are going to open the doors just for you?”
“Sense it. This shortie is just a ninth-level Martial Disciple, haha!” another martial artist chimed in as he looked at Wun Fan with disdain in his eyes.
A middle-aged man dressed in fancy clothes flew into a rage. He grabbed Wun Fan by the shoulder and tried to pull the black hood off of him as he shouted, “Where are you from, you mongrel? Has no one taught you manners? Why are you cutting the line?”
The maids didn’t seem to pay any attention to what was happening. They didn’t seem to have any intention to intervene either. After all, disagreements often happened between martial artists and it was human nature to compare amongst themselves and deride those they believed to be weaker than them.
However, Wun Fan didn’t see anything. He simply took out the bronze medallion and flashed it toward the guards and the maids. The guards and the maids’ eyes opened wide when they saw this. They immediately lunged toward Wun Fan’s location without any second thoughts.
“Man, what is this?” the middle-aged man who had grabbed Wun Fan by the shoulder reached for the medallion in his hand. However, a Chan Clan guard arrived in time and grabbed his hand tightly, saying with a stern expression, “Release your filthy hand. Do not touch a distinguished guest of Thousand Relics Auctions.”
Meanwhile, the other two guards said respectfully, “Please enter Thousand Relics Auctions, sir.”
“Mm,” a young voice rang from within the black robes, drawing the curiosity of the guards. The voice of the owner of the bronze medallion sounded very youthful. He must be a very young person. Could he be the son of some royalty or important government official?
The maids immediately pushed the doors open when they saw the medallion and let Wun Fan in, leaving the befuddled martial artists and merchants behind.
Someone couldn’t help but ask, “Why can he go in first? Does Thousand Relics Auctions look down on the rest of us?”
“That’s right! What is this? If Thousand Relics Auctions doesn’t give us a satisfactory explanation…”
“We want a logical explanation…” Perhaps there were no conflicts of interest here, however, some people would always bemoan their treatment as unfair. As such, the crowd started to turn rowdy, just to cause a commotion if nothing else, like a flock of sheep.
The crowd continued yelling, until an elderly voice boomed in the air, neither near nor far. It said in a gentle tone, “I am Chan Goh Shue. The one who entered earlier was a distinguished guest of our auction house. Does anyone object to how we do things?”
“Cha Goh Shue? The famous appraiser Chan Goh Shue?*” Some people recognized Chan Goh Shue’s name and gasped out loud. The rest of the crowd heard these gasps and the rowdiness came to a screeching halt.
They stared at the man in black robes as he entered the auction house and as the doors slowly closed behind him. No one dared to say anything else. Only the people who had directly mocked Wun Fan earlier were feeling anxious. They were worried that their actions earlier might result in some form of punishment.
Wun Fan saw the familiar great hall when he walked past the doors. He followed the maids slowly up to Auction Hall Mortal. Chan Chi Yuet had been waiting here for him since a while ago. She was dressed in an elegant and refined manner today, in a formal black dress dusted with shiny glitter. She was even wearing high heels, with a design unique to Heaven’s Martial World, which made her look more slender and even taller than usual. There was a slit down the side of the dress, vaguely showing off her snow-white legs as she walked.
A man’s gaze would be split between Chan Chi Yuet’s face, aura, waist, feet and many other places when they looked upon her.
A proud swan with a hundred different faces. Even back in his previous life, a woman as excellent as this would be resoundingly successful in whatever field she chose to pursue. There was no deceiving Chan Chi Yuet, even if Wun Fan was covered in black robes and had hidden his face, “Fan, why didn’t you call for me if you were here already.”
Short, covered in black robes and holding a bronze medallion. Chan Chi Yuet didn’t even need to think for a second to guess that it was Wun Fan who had arrived.
Wun Fan was never surprised by Chan Chi Yuet’s intelligence. There was no point in his disguise anymore. He took off the hood and revealed his face to Chan Chi Yuet. The guards and maids who had led the way for him earlier all looked surprised. They didn’t expect the owner of the medallion to be such a young boy.
Judging from his height and his looks, he was probably no more than eleven or twelve years old. It was quite shocking. A certain rumor flashed in the minds of some of the servants: it was said that certain martial artists of tremendous power had broken free of the limitations of the physical body and could reverse the aging process and return to their youths. These individuals might be hundreds of years old but could still look like young children.
For a moment, some people suspected Wun Fan of being a horrifyingly powerful old man, but it didn’t make sense. Why would someone like that only have a bronze medallion? Thousand Relics Auctions had a total of seven types of medallions: sandalwood, white jade, gray jade, bronze, yellow diamond, violet-gold and amethyst.
Sandalwood and white jade medallions were given out to guests who spent a certain amount, or guests with sufficient status. However, the Thousand Relics Auctions would only give out medallions of gray jade and above to particular individuals they paid close attention to. Someone would have to be of extraordinary status to obtain the bronze medallion. The medallion entitled the individual to a private room at every auctionhouse of Thousand Relics Auctions.
As for yellow diamond, violet-gold and amethyst? Only some of the most powerful and influential people in the world could get their hands on them. Even Chan Chi Yuet had only seen a handful of people own these medallions.
Wun Fan had been a little impulsive in showing his face. If anyone present here could recognize him as the third young master of the Wun Clan, it would bring about unnecessary trouble for him.
Chan Chi Yuet took a few steps forward and laced her arm through Wun Fan’s left arm in a familiar fashion. Her breasts pressed lightly against his skin. She was quite a bit taller than him, but there was an intimate atmosphere between the two of them that was certain to provoke gossip. Chan Chi Yuet ignored the servants’ stunned gaze and led Wun Fan up the stairs, towards one of the private rooms. She said softly, “Why so impulsive, Fan? Don’t take off your hood so quickly next time. You were lucky that those people were all trusted subordinates of mine.”
“Oh?” Wun Fan hadn’t thought about that at all. It seemed like even he had his moments of mistake, despite how cautious he always was.
Wun Fan took a quick look at the arrangement of the private room. The design was comfortable but elegant, with a light yellow color as its main palette. There was a large crystal on the door of the private room, probably cut with special techniques. You could not see anything inside the room from the outside, but you can see the outside clearly from the outside. It worked like a one-way mirror.
The furniture in the room was relatively simple. There was only a small table, a large cushioned couch and a small desk. There were a series of buttons on the desk.
Wun Fan lay down on the couch without saying anything. It was very soft and nice.
“Hey, Chan girl, you keep trying to seduce me. Do you really think I won’t do anything to you?” Wun Fan stared at Chan Chi Yuet playfully, his eyes half-shut. He scanned the room and said, “You even brought me to a private room. Could it be…? Hmph! I warn you, even if you get my body, you won’t win my heart.”
“Don’t worry, as long as I have your body, then no woman can win your heart, even if I can’t either,” Chan Chi Yuet said smugly as she rubbed two fingers in front of Wun Fan. Wun Fan couldn’t help but shiver. “Moreover, this room is well-insulated and keeps all auras, smells and noises inside. Hmph, Wun Fan, let’s see if you can slip through my fingers this time.
Wun Fan couldn’t help but think to himself, “This girl is getting more shameless every time I meet her. I best not bring up any lewd topics myself.” So, Wun Fan promptly gave up and refused to reply to her.
“Heheh, good boy. Just stay quiet,” Chan Chi Yuet leaned across Wun Fan’s body and whispered into his ear. Wun Fan immediately blushed. He didn’t know how to deal with this sort of teasing. All he could do was cough to hide his embarrassment. Chan Chi Yuet got even more cocky. She stared at Wun Fan proudly and lifted his chin with her slender and white fingers, “See how amazing I am? We will see if I can teach you a lesson for catching me off guard the first time we met.”
This girl was so vengeful! How could he possibly sit still and endure such humiliation? It was impossible!
Chan Chi Yuet was satisfied and about to get off of him. However, Wun Fan suddenly turned her over and pinned her against the couch. He had one arm around her waist, while the other hand stoked her smooth leg. However, due to his short height, his face was practically pressing into her chest, “Girl, don’t treat me like a sick kitten. I might be a virgin before and after I came to this world, but I don’t mind having certain relationships with you that go a little beyond friendship.”
It was a rather suggestive position they were in, as if Wun Fan was lying against Chan Chi Yuet’s chest.
“Miss, Uncle Goh asked me to…” a silhouette in green entered the room. It was Siu Ji. She saw Wun Fan with his arm around her mistress the moment she opened the door, with his head against her breasts. He was even stroking her leg. Siu Ji’s mind went blank for a moment. She didn’t know how to respond.
The two people on the couch simultaneously shouted, “Shut the door!”306Please respect copyright.PENANAgjjKlZ8fkD
