The guard clearly had intentions of helping Wun Fan and his companions when he attacked the bandit. However, he needed an excuse to do so, or it would sully the Guild’s reputation as a neutral party. Martial artists were starting to gather around the scene. They started gossiping amongst each other when they saw even the Guild’s guard getting involved in the fight.
Chai Chau Chin was the center of attention, but there was nothing he could do about the guard. He was weaker than the guard and trying to fight him was basically suicide. Moreover, the Martial Artist Guild was a powerful organization. Even the leader himself didn’t dare to make an enemy out of the Guild. If he provoked the Guild, he might not even live to see tomorrow.
Meanwhile, on the other side, Wun Fan felt the guard’s aura surge, and then the aura of a peak Martial Vassal vanished completely. He couldn’t help but wonder, “Did he attack the Green Wolf Gang members?”
He remembered the rule that Fung Ching mentioned earlier and deduced that a member of the Green Wolf Gang had probably struck first. It was great to have an Innate Martial Master on their side.
Back on the other side, Chai Chau Chin shouted at his men in the smoke, “Everyone get out of the smoke!”
Meanwhile, he moved even further back. The further away he was from the sniper, the more time he had to react to his arrows.
Wun Fan could sense the bandits getting further away from them, but he didn’t look disappointed at all. It was all within his plans. He raised an eyebrow as his signal. Fung Ching saw this and knew it was time. He immediately channelled nearly eighty percent of his soul energy into three arrows. He locked his elbow and his fingers and drew the bow into a full moon. He aimed at where Wun Fan pointed, where the bandits were most concentrated and roared, “Lethality: Song of the Magical Beasts!”
His fingers let loose and the three arrows shot forward and tremendous speed. They cut across the sky, their sonic booms like the roaring song of a horde of magical beasts. The arrows rushed forward with tremendous speed and power. It reached its target in a single second, determined to slay all the wolves!
Boom!
The explosion went off the moment the arrows hit. A powerful gale rippled outward, blowing away the smoke and sending dust into the air. Everyone in the crowd started coughing. However, compared to the smoke bomb, the dust settled much quicker. A slight breeze blew it away, revealing the silhouettes of the people inside.
Chai Chau Chin looked down and his face turned green with anger. Veins popped on the side of his head and his eyes were practically spitting fire!
He brought thirteen men with him, one novice Martial Scholar, two peak Martial Vassals and nine Martial Vassals of advanced level and below. However, at this moment, the only ones who remained standing unharmed were him and the novice Martial Scholar. Apart from one other peak Martial Vassal, everyone else was lying on the ground without any sign of breathing. Even the sole surviving Martial Vassal was badly injured in the hips and legs. He was down on his knees and couldn’t move anymore.
In less than fifty seconds, only three of them were still alive. The other ten had all gone down to hell to meet their makers.
Chai Chau Chin was furious. He stared at the three teenagers with eyes filled with killing intent. He swore to the heavens that he would execute the three of them here to honor the spirits of his dead brethren. Only one of them would walk away from this alive!
More importantly, he didn’t know how he would explain such heavy losses to the leader. Moreover, all of them had died without putting up much of a fight at all. This wouldn’t end with a simple punishment for him.
Wun Fan stared at the corpses on the ground with gleaming eyes, almost as if he were looking at a pile of treasures. He couldn’t help but think gleefully to himself, Nice! These are all power-ups for me!
Li’l Black was roaring in his martial heart, twirling about excitedly. Wun Fan instinctively licked his lips. Seeing those dead bodies was like seeing delicious food in front of him. However, he reeled himself back and thought, Hold on, what’s wrong with my mental state?
“Heart as cool as ice, calm in the face of crumbling skies; still through shifting winds, lax as winter mint; forget the self and mind only one, six senses calmed and still as stone,” chanted Wun Fan to himself. He quickly took a few deep breaths and returned to his usual mental state. He might not have any reservations about killing a bunch of irredeemable criminals, but he was not a bloodthirsty maniac.
However, in those few seconds, he felt an overwhelming bloodlust. He didn’t just want to kill all the bandits in front of him, he wanted to attack the Green Wolf Gang and slaughter everyone there to make himself stronger.
That thought was what shocked him.
“Kid, come back to your senses,” said Old Lei. He didn’t know about Wun Fan’s condition, but he could tell that Wun Fan was out of it. He quickly got him back to his senses.
“Thanks, Old Lei,” said Wun Fan. He snapped back to reality when he heard Old Lei’s words. He could talk about what happened with Old Lei when they had the time. Maybe he could offer some insights into his condition.
His focus shifted back to the battlefield. Wun Fan couldn’t help but find it funny when he saw Chai Chau Chin’s murderous gaze. Why did that man never think something like this might happen to him all the times he raped innocent women?
Wun Fan couldn’t help but shake his head and mutter, “Work hard to sharpen the knife in hand, an oath never to stop while villains still stand.”
His voice was soft but firm. Fung Ching heard him and was very impressed with the young boy. Fung Ching believed that the stronger a martial artist, the more responsibility they should bear. However, authority, greed and lust often led people astray. How many people could remain unyielding in the face of all of life’s temptations?
Chai Chau Chin assessed the situation. The three teenagers consisted of an intermediate Martial Mortal, a peak Martial Mortal and an intermediate Martial Scholar. They should be of no big threat to him. The third brother executed by their leader mentioned that the girl fought like a peak Martial Vassal. There was something odd about her, but he would still be stronger than her. Meanwhile, the teenager with the bow seemed weak and exhausted. He must have used up too much of his soul energy earlier. He shouldn’t be able to recover for a while. None of them were going ot be a problem.
Chai Chau Chin approached the novice Martial Scholar and whispered, “Lei Wo, go help him treat his wounds. I’ll kill the three of them!”
Lei Wo’s lust had been ignited when he saw the girl. He gave a different suggestion, “Boss, why don’t we capture the girl? She’s quite the pretty one. Even if she doesn’t meet the requirements for our mission, we can put her in the Wolf Bride’s Pavilion.”
Chai Chau Chin found this suggestion an appealing one. It was one way to make up for his mistakes. Hopefully, if he brought a girl back, the leader would be able to forgive him.
That said, to make sure there were no accidents, he would have to break all her limbs first. Chai Chau Chin was also thinking about the situation. He needed to find a way to attack without breaking the rule. After all, the guard was staring at him, waiting for an excuse to execute him.
“Go!” ordered Chai Chau Chin. Lei Wo immediately ran toward the injured Martial Vassal. Meanwhile, Chai Chau Chin ran toward Wun Fan and his companions. He saw that Fung Ching had no more arrows in his quiver. Meanwhile, Wun Fan and Hung Yu Fei’s martial techniques were no threat to him. All he had to do was endure their attacks for a few moments while he neutralized the only threat. He didn’t believe that an intermediate Martial Scholar like himself would be unable to take on a few attacks from a Martial Mortal and Martial Vassal.
As he approached the three of them, Wun Fan’s lips curled up uncontrollably again. It was that damned bad habit of his!
Fung Ching’s soul energy surged into his ring. He turned his hand and a pill appeared between his fingers. The medicinal smell was strong but pleasant. He could feel the soul energy in his body circulating faster just from the scent of the pill. This was the Grade Six Energy Restoration Pill made by Old Lei. Even an Innate Martial Master could recover all of their soul energy in a short time with this pill, let alone an intermediate Martial Scholar!
Wun Fan had invested a lot to slaughter these wolves. He didn’t mind at all. After all, in Wun Fan’s eyes, an Energy Restoration Pill was nothing compared to the power of the Spiritstartler Ring, while the death of these bandits would help him grow more powerful. That was why using the Energy Restoration Pill was the most cost-effective option for Wun Fan’s purpose.
Fung Ching glanced at the pill between his fingers. He did not hesitation. He followed Wun Fan’s instructions perfectly. If he told him to eat the pill, he would do it!
Fung Ching swallowed the pill decisively. The pill turned into a large amount of aether in his stomach. Fueled by the power of the medicine, the aether quickly merged with his mental energy and became soul energy.
In just three seconds, he had recovered all of his soul energy. In fact, even more aether was still being produced in his stomach. Fung Ching felt bloated and couldn’t help but burp, letting out a mouthful of aether as he did so.211Please respect copyright.PENANA4VwtevIIzC
