Wun Fan got mad and shouted, “Come on, old man, can’t you just get to the point!”
“Heheh,” chuckled Old Lei. He was clearly teasing Wun Fan and he got the reaction he was looking for. Satisfied, he proceeded to explain everything.
It seems like the Flower Thief Squad of the Green Wolf Gang was spread out over five towns near Green Sea Forest. Whenever they spotted a suitable target, they would kidnap the victim and bring them back to the Wolf Bride’s Pavilion. The Wolf Bride’s Pavilion sounded innocuous, but it was in fact a place of depravity and unbridled lust.
The bandits would imprison the women they captured in the Pavilion to be used and abused by the members of the gang.
There were many women in the Wolf Bride’s Pavilion, each with their own unique charm and beauty. You had innocent village girls, newly-wed brides, experienced older ladies, noblewomen and even divorcees. The ‘suitable target’ that the bandits looked out for was basically any pretty woman.
Old Lei could tell that many of these women were of tremendous beauty through the memory fragments. Most people would swoon over them. There were even a few women in the memory fragments that were pretty enough to catch Old Lei’s attention. As he put it, they were “just barely qualified to serve as his maids”.
This comment alone shocked Wun Fan. After all, Old Lei had very high expectations for everything.
However, what made Old Lei the most curious was the fact that there was sometimes a tasklist within the Green Wolf Gang. Certain unique specifications would be listed on this list, requiring the gang members to capture a woman that fit those specifications. Failing to do so would mean death.
However, no one knew where these women went. Even Bat Yun, Martial Master and commander of the Flower Thief Squad, was not authorized to know what happened to these women. All he knew was that he would be greatly rewarded by his leader, Yu Sap Bat, after presenting these women to him.
“However, what interests me the most, is the location of their headquarters,” said Old Lei, intentionally withholding information. He wanted to make Wun Fan beg him for it. He deserved it for shouting at him.
“Haha, Old Lei, you can go ahead and tell me. After all, someone as kind and generous as yourself would never do something like make your disciple wait for an answer,” said Wun Fan with a big, flattering smile on his face, no sign of his scowl from earlier.
Old Lei relented when he saw Wun Fan’s humble attitude and spoke one word at a time, “Underground, tomb.”
“Oh…” said Wun Fan in a slightly disappointed tone. This wasn’t anything surprising. After all, Green Sea Forest was incredibly vast. It wasn’t too out of the ordinary for it to have an underground tomb somewhere. He had read of plenty of such tombs being hidden in forests like these in his adventure stories.
However, Wun Fan sprang to his feet when he heard what Old Lei said next, “The entrance of the tomb is filled with death aura so dense it can corrode bone and dissolve metal. No one is able to enter through that entrance.”
“Death aura!” said Wun Fan with gleaming eyes. There was nothing he wanted more than death aura at the moment. With enough death aura, he would be able to improve extremely quickly!
He was only a Martial Vassal right now, but if he absorbed all that death aura, he could ascend to Martial Scholar, Martial Master, Innate Martial Master and…Just the thought of it excited him. Wun Fan eyes glowed with eagerness. He couldn’t wait to exterminate some bandits for the good of the people.
“These foul villains of the Green Wolf Gang abduct women and subject them to horrible abuses. They are a blight upon our world. I shall not stand to see them walk this earth while I live!” said Wun Fan in a righteous tone, lifting his head up and placing his right hand in front of his chest, as if he was a hero concerned with doing the right thing.
“That said, there’s something you should know. This man whose soul I just searched might be a Martial Master, but he’s not even top ten in the Green Wolf Gang when it comes to martial prowess,” said Old Lei. He was always very good at pouring a cold bucket of water over Wun Fan’s head at the best moment.
“Even a Martial Master is just a small fry to them?” said Wun Fan, his passion suddenly extinguished. He thought for a moment and said, “That makes sense, I suppose. The Green Wolf Gang has to be quite formidable to be able to live so comfortably in Green Sea Forest. Ho Siu Nam did mention that even three Martial Masters together couldn’t do a thing to the gang. They must have powerful fighters amongst their ranks.”
“But that’s no problem. I have Old Lei, after all,” said Wun Fan with a sly smile. He saw how easily Old Lei dispatched a novice Martial Master today. He even claimed that he could protect him even when going against a Martial Colonel. This shouldn’t be a problem at all.
“If you’re going to get me to do everything, what’s the point of coming out to train? That said, what confuses me the most about these memory fragments is the fact that the Green Wolf Gang has dealings with the Hung Clan of Green Sea Town…” said Old Lei. He saw from the memory fragments that Bat Yun had arranged for his subordinates to send an envelope to the Hung Clan two days ago. It seemed like there was something they wanted to discuss.
The whole thing seemed very mysterious all of a sudden!
“The Hung Clan?” said Wun Fan, his tone taking a serious turn. After all, Hung Yu Fei was travelling with him right now. Exactly what was the Hung Clan, specifically the Hung Clan of Green Sea Town planning? And what was the nature of their relationship with the Green Wolf Gang?
He clearly remembered seeing bounty posters on the notice board of the Martial Artist Guild. Both parties had put out bounties for each other’s men. They might not be nemeses, but they were definitely bitter enemies.
Could that all have just been part of a show? More and more people were getting involved in this situation. The world of adults was truly a terrifying one.
“I can’t figure out any more than that,” said Old Lei uncertainly. After all, even he didn’t manage to find out too much about the Hung Clan from Bat Yun’s memories. Paper could not contain fire. If the Hung Clan was truly working with the Green Wolf Gang, there would be evidence somewhere. There are no true secrets in this world.
They just had to keep an eye out for any signs they could find.
“I understand, Old Lei,” said Wun Fan with a nod, as if he was an obedient little kid.
“Alright, start absorbing aether. Your priority is getting used to your new strength,” said Old Lei before returning to the ring to rest. He had to recover his mental energy whenever he could.
“Understood, Old Lei,” said Wun Fan.
“Hurry up and sit down.”
“Yes, Old Lei.”

Green Sea Forest, (-20919,19).
Two figures arrived at the battlefield from this afternoon under the cover of night. They saw the corpses on the ground being torn apart by class-two spotted hyenas. They had been completely mangled by the beasts.
“Scram!” shouted one of the two men. He kicked away one of the hyenas and unleashed his Martial Colonel’s aura. The magical beasts were intimidated and scattered immediately. The men examined the bodies carefully and noticed the wolf tattoos. They assumed that these were the bodies of Green Wolf Gang members.
They were dressed in dark red coats, with hoods to cover their heads. They observed the marks on the ground closely and spotted a half-molten saber on the ground. They picked it up and saw a wolf’s head carved into the hilt.
The two looked at each other. They found who they were looking for.
These were definitely members of the Green Wolf Gang.
These two men were part of Hung Yun Zak’s secret forces—Wither. Wither Two and Wither Three had hurried over here to protect Hung Yu Fei after receiving Hung Yun Zak’s orders. The reason they were travelling at night was to confirm Hung Yu Fei’s location as quickly as possible.
“There’s no question. They went that way,” said Wither Two as he pointed in one direction. His voice was a little hoarse, as if he didn’t usually have to talk this much.
“Go,” said Wither Three simply. He seemed to value his words greatly and replied as concisely as possible.
Just as the two of them were about to move, a woman’s voice sailed through the air. The voice was soft and gentle, but it spoke with a prideful tone, “Two intermediate Martial Colonels. Is it really necessary?”
A woman in a red-pink dress leapt down from above. She was tall and conducted herself with an air of elegance. Her looks seemed fairly ordinary, but she had a very unique air of pride and elegance about her.
She landed in front of the two Withers and looked them up and down. Finally, she covered her mouth and laughed as she said, “Tsk, tsk, tsk. To think Martial Colonels liek yourself would end up being mere lapdogs covered with the stench of decay. It’s a familiar smell, but it’s still revolting nonetheless.”
“Who?” said Wither Three, killing intent flickering in his eyes. The woman in front of him gave off a very dangerous feeling. All his hairs were standing on ends, his most primal instincts warning him of danger.
Someone who could make a Martial Colonel like himself feel fear had to be much stronger than him!
“What do you want, lady?” said Wither Two in his hoarse voice. He stared at the woman closely with a grim expression. He subtly started conjuring his soul energy, unconvinced that he could deal with her.
“Nothing much. Just protecting a young girl. You guys, on the other hand, make me sick,” said the woman in red clothes. Pink soul energy suddenly surged through her hands as she muttered, “Martial soul, descend.”
“Aether Forge,” said the woman and the soul energy turned into liquid. She made a tossing motion with her hands and the sky was turned pink as thousands of pink petals filled the air. The petals hovered in the air motionlessly.
The woman opened her lips slightly and flashed a bewitching smile. She then said, “Fairy maidens wash their face, droplets fall through fingers with perfect grace.”
