“Lethality: Song of the Magical Beasts.”
A large hole was blown into the chest of the two victims. Their organs spilled to the ground, staining the earth red. They were dead in a matter of seconds.
It was Fung Ching!
He once again took on the role of the sniper. He hid himself forty meters away, using the trees as cover as he sniped the vermin of the Green Wolf Gang. Hung Yu Fei stood quietly by his side, crimson flowers in hand. She observed her surroundings warily as she stood guard for her companion.
“New positions!” said Fung Ching after firing three shots. He immediately took off and Hung Yu Fei followed after him. The two of them were far away after just a few jumps.
Bat Yun saw two of his Martial Vassal subordinates blown to pieces and shouted angrily, “Arrows from the southeast!”
This warning immediately caught the attention of the group closest to Bat Yun. They split their attention and tried to watch out for a sniper. However, this left an opening for one of the stronglimb elephants! It whipped its trunk with a terrifying roar and slammed it against one of the gang members.
“Lethality: Wolf’s Iron Body!” cried the person being attacked. He knew he couldn’t dodge in time and decided to strengthen his body to protect himself instead.
Crack. Unfortunately for him, the elephant’s strike was overwhelmingly powerful. The man was knocked into the air and landed on the ground with a heavy thud. He felt a sweet taste in his throat and coughed up blood. He had suffered terrible internal injuries.
“Lethality: Greedy Wolves’ Devouring Slash!” shouted the other five members of the group as they covered for their companion. They unleashed their techniques at the same time, and slashed at the soft spots on the stronglimb’s front feet. They managed to cut through flesh and wound it. One of the members saw an opportunity and drove his saber deeper into the cut. He channelled a large amount of soul energy into the blade, attempting to halt the stronglimb’s momentum.
The stronglimb elephant cried out in pain, but the madness in its eyes only grew even deeper. It completely ignored its injuries and instead charged past the group’s formation at the injured man on the ground. It raised its limbs and prepared to crush him mercilessly under its foot.
“Move!” shouted Bat Yun. He was furious to see this beast attempt to take the life of his man before him. He drew his saber without another word and charged it with soul energy. He rushed before the stronglimb elephant and yelled, “Lethality: Wolf’s Frenzy, Iron-Shredding Blade!”
A dark glow engulfed the saber. Bat Yun grabbed the saber tightly and unleashed thirty-six frenzied slashes. Every slash shattered carapace and tore flesh. The cuts were so deep that a stream of blood would pour out with every slash. In just a dozen seconds, the stronglimb elephant was covered in blood. It was badly injured and on its last limb. It crumpled weakly to the ground and the other five members of the group quickly dealt the killing blow.
While Bat Yun was focused on the stronglimb elephant, a flash of light suddenly flickered in the corner of his eye, piercing the hearts of two Martial Vassals. Blood sprayed across the air in a graceful arc. The two of them were instantly dead.
“Aaaaah!” screamed Bat Yun when he saw another two Martial Vassals die in front of him. Rage overwhelmed him and his eyes turned red. He conjured all of his soul energy and rushed at the remaining nine stronglimbs.
His subordinates were being slaughtered. Rather than let them continue holding back the elephants, it was better to kill the beasts as quickly as possible. Only then would they be able to turn around and hunt down those three kids!
There was no end to Bat Yun’s fury. He shouted angrily, “Everyone, attack!”
“Yes, sir!” shouted his subordinates back at him. The wolf pack could finally go all out. They immediately unleashed all of their most powerful attacks on the stronglimb elephants. The battlefield was instantly flooded with soul energy as hundred techniques were unleashed together!
Savage Wolf’s Saber! Greedy Wolves’ Devouring Slash! Wolf Fang Heartpiercer! Savage Wolf’s Fury!
Four stronglimb elephants were killed on the spot, but they managed to take five Martial Vassals and three Martial Scholars with them. The Flower Thief Squad suffered terrible losses in a single exchange. Fung Ching took great advantage of this opportunity. He used up ninety percent of his soul energy to kill a Martial Scholar and a Martial Vassal at the same time.
Only twenty-three bandits were left, three of whom were badly injured and unable to continue fighting.
“Bastards!” cursed Bat Yun.
If it wasn’t for these stronglimbs, those three wretched children would never have been able to snipe at us, thought Bat Yun as he looked at the fourteen corpses on the ground. The rest of his party were all injured to various extents. It would be very difficult to pursue the three kids now.
Moreover, they were still sniping at them from a distance. They couldn’t even let down their guard!
Bat Yun wanted to break out of this situation!
He did not understand how they managed to catch them in this trap, but their first priority was breaking out of it.
Bat Yun relied on his power as a novice Martial Master. He shielded himself with soul energy and shrugged off the stronglimb’s strikes, while striking back with deadly attacks. He shouted as he lashed out, “Lethality: Wolf’s Frenzy, Iron-Shredding Blade!”
Another elephant let out a tragic cry. It tried to take another enemy with it to its death, striking a bandit in the chest with its trunk. The sound of cracking bone could be heard as the bandit was knocked a dozen meters away.
The man crashed into a tree and dropped to the ground, but could not get up. He tried his best to adjust his breathing, but only managed to cough up blood. He propped himself up after a lot of difficulty and slowly crawled behind a tree for cover. This wasn’t too useful, as a single attack from a stronglimb elephant would be enough to fell a tree, but it at least protected him from the sniper.
He looked at the ground and tried to control his ragged breathing when he saw the shadows move. It was a very slight movement, impossible to notice from a distance. However, he was crouched right under the tree right now and noticed the abnormality quickly.
He lifted his head and saw someone hiding in the branches. That person smiled at him. It was the boy they were hunting!
Wun Fan did not hesitate at all. He jumped down and grabbed the man by his throat as he said, “I’m sorry, you’ve seen too much.”
Wun Fan gripped with his right hand and the claw easily sliced through the neck. His claws crushed the man’s throat to pieces, not allowing him to make a single noise. Wun Fan thrust his left hand into the man’s chest and crushed his heart in a practiced fashion. The man could not even make a single grunt. To think a Martial Vassal would be killed by a Martial Mortal in a single strike, without even the chance to beg for mercy!
“Ah…” moaned Wun Fan as he felt the rich death aura surge through his body. His arm was still buried in the man’s chest. All the energy rushed toward his Three-Yang Leg Meridians and slowly excavated the pressure points. This euphoric feeling was better than taking drugs.
“Everyone cover me,” ordered Bat Yun. He could tell that this situation was not sustainable. There were still five more stronglimbs. If any more members of his party were to die, there would no longer be a Flower Thief Squad to speak of!
Magical beasts were physically stronger than humans, to begin with. Even a superior martial realm did not give a human too much advantage over them.
However, the existence of martial techniques was a tremendous variable in combat. That was because a single powerful martial technique could easily level any difference in strength. As such, Bat Yun intended to use up all of his soul energy to slay these five peak class-four stronglimb elephants in a single strike.
Bat Yun got into his stance, both hands gripping his saber, right hand above the left. He rested the saber on his right shoulder as he quickly conjured his soul energy. Over eighty percent of his soul energy was channelled into the blade.
The blade glowed with a dark light as murderous intent accumulated at the edge. Bat Yun poured everything into this attack, his focus, his power and his intent.
A wolf’s howl echoed through the air when the saber intent was formed. It was a howl so lonely and savage that it actually dispelled the effect of the Beastmania Powder for a few seconds, snapping the elephants back to their senses. However, the powder’s effect took hold soon after. The elephants’ eyes grew red again and they immediately charged at Bat Yun.
There was no fear in Bat Yun’s eyes. He stared straight through the five beasts, as if they were already dead.
“Lethality: Lone Wolf’s Tigerbane Strike,” he muttered.
His feet didn’t seem to move, but he suddenly appeared a dozen meters away, as if he had just teleported. He appeared in front of the two elephants leading the charge. He breathed and slashed horizontally. The soul energy attached to the blade turned into a saber blast, instantly cutting the two elephants in half!
“Again!” roared Bat Yun. He slashed two more times, slicing the three remaining elephants’ limbs and trunks. The five behemoths crumpled to the ground lifelessly.
Huff. Huff. Bat Yun’s breathing was heavy and labored. He took out herbs from a pouch in his shirt and started chewing them. The herbs tasted sweet with a strong bitter aftertaste. A small amount of aether appeared in his stomach, helping him recover his strength.
Wun Fan had leapt back onto the tree. He took out a cloth towel and wiped away the blood as he thought about the martial technique he had just seen. That decisive saber intent was truly impressive. Wun Fan stared at the dozen silhouettes on the ground greedily, but he didn’t dare to push his luck. He couldn’t help but sigh as he said, “If only we could kill them all. I would have no problem ascending to Martial Vassal realm.”
“Heh, then kill them,” rang Old Lei’s ancient voice. He even mocked Wun Fan, “Since when were you such a coward.”
“That’s a Martial Master!” retorted Wun Fan, “If I could beat him, I wouldn’t be hiding over here!”
However, Old Lei’s next words ignited Wun Fan’s desire, “Do you take me for a dead man?”145Please respect copyright.PENANANTWDPRLXGe
