“Huh?”
The great elder broke out into laughter. The second elder wanted to challenge him? He even wondered if his hearing was getting bad because of his age. He rarely ever fought, but every member of the Wun Clan knew he was a menace in battle.
Obviously, the second elder wasn’t stupid enough to challenge the great elder alone. He made sure to drag someone else along with him, “The clan master, I and the third elder will be challenging the great elder together.”
“Tsk…”
The crowd started booing and jeering. A fight between the great elder and the other three leaders of the clan would certainly be spectacular, but the second elder truly had skin thicker than a nuclear shelter. Who would’ve thought the father could be even more shameless than the son?
That said, the great elder was actually interested in the suggestion. He had never crossed swords with all three of them at the same time, even after all these years. It was a tempting proposition.
The great elder looked up at Wun Ching Yeung. The clan master said nothing, but a single look from him told the great elder everything he needed to know—of course he was going to fight alongside the second elder. He had to be there to save the second elder if anything happened.
“Really? That’s how little faith you have in me?”
The great elder was a little upset and rolled his eyes at Wun Ching Yeung.
He looked over at the third elder. The battle maniac was already waiting with his sword in hand. The great elder stroked his beard and laughed, “Very well! Let me see if you three brats have improved at all.”
“Thank you for the opportunity, great elder,” Wun Ching Yeung and the third elder replied simultaneously.
“We won’t let you down.” Only the second elder was smiling ingratiatingly. Anyone could sense his bad intentions from the look in his eyes. He knew he couldn’t face the great elder alone with his abilities, which was why…
The crowd never expected the second elder’s poorly crafted excuse to end up coming true; the most excited ones were the more elder clan members. It was rare to see even one of the elders or clan master fight, let alone all four of them at once.
The servants hastily carried Wun Ping off the stage to be treated by a doctor. Meanwhile, Wun Fan returned to his seat on the platform. He looked at the elders excitedly and started to shell some peanuts he had gotten from somewhere. He popped the nuts into his mouth, one after another.
“Are you alright?”
Wun Siu Lan’s attention wasn’t on the fight at all. Her eyes were a little red and puffy. She examined Wun Fan’s body carefully, squeezing his thighs and his arms to see if anything was fractured.
“I’m almost dead. You got a cure for that?”
“Nope. You’re just dead.”
A very meaningful conversation between the two kids.
Wun Fan unconsciously waved his arm slightly. He could feel the aching around his chest. He would be lying if he said he wasn’t injured. Resentment bubbled in him.
That stupid Point of Joining Valleys. I would be a seventh-level Martial Disciple if I could just break through that point. I’m still too weak…624Please respect copyright.PENANAQZn6rH70o0

Several minutes later, all four elders were ready and standing in the arena. The bonfire by the stage crackled loudly, as if cheering for the combatants.
The great elder stood firm and composed, like a wise sage upon a mountaintop. The edges of his robe swayed along the night wind, further bolstering that sagely image. His aura was completely focused and contained as he stared at his three opponents, his head tilted slightly upwards like a parent waiting to examine his children’s test results.
Results in the test known as martial arts!
Wun Ching Yeung and the two elders stood in a triangle formation, with him at the very back and the two elders on the left and right. His aura flickered unsteadily and mysteriously, making it hard to tell how powerful he truly was. He had a slight smile on his face and no signs of nervousness at all.
In contrast, the second and third elders were incredibly tense, as if they were facing off against their greatest enemy. With the exception of Wun Ching Yeung perhaps, the two of them knew better than anyone how powerful the white-haired old man truly was.
When he came to this branch house of the Wun Clan back then, he had defeated them in an overwhelming, devastating fashion. Their abilities had improved after all these years, but somehow, that only made them feel even less confident fighting against the great elder.
The saying was true: the more you know, the more you know you don’t know.
Their abilities grew, but with it, they also grew to understand how truly terrifying the great elder’s powers were. Their current strength hadn’t even reached the great elder’s strength back then, let alone now. That was why they suddenly felt anxious when faced with the great elder’s aura.
They gripped their swords tightly in anticipation, their spirits focused and sharp. They knew that even the slightest mistake might lead to their loss in a matter of seconds.
Wun Fan could very obviously tell that the second and third elder’s expressions were incredibly solemn. He couldn’t help but look forward to seeing that old man’s true power.
“Apologies for this, great elder.”
The second elder was the first to strike. He drew his sword. The blade glowed a bright purple and made several sharp turns, like an agile serpent, as he shouted, “Martial soul, descend!”
Soul energy surged forward as the second elder attacked with all he had. He knew he was not a match for the great elder and that his strength was insignificant compared to his. However, he attacked anyway, simply to get back for what had happened earlier.
The great elder wouldn’t kill him anyway, so why not go all out?
“Lethality: Black Serpent’s Swimming Sword.”
The sword turned into a black flash along with the second elder himself as it lunged forward at the great elder like a vicious snake. The great elder would take a single step every time the black snake snapped at him, dodging every attack with ease. To the crowd, it seemed like the great elder was a slippery catfish, avoiding everything just as they were about to hit him.
Wun Ching Yeung shook his head lightly. He understood the great elder too well. He was toying with the second elder.
The third elder was waiting for an opportunity. Finally, he saw an opening. He drew his sword and attacked ferociously, shouting as he did so, “Lethality: Morning Glare Sword!”
A single thrust, as straight and bold as the glare of the morning sun. There were no fancy techniques in the attack. The tip of the blade glowed with the prismatic glare of the sun, the glare that pierced through clouds and shone upon the earth; a glaring thrust pointed at where the great elder’s next step would be.
The second elder hastily switched moves upon seeing this. “Lethality: The Twenty-Seven Strikes of the Lucid Sword.”
The second elder stabbed at the great elder for a total of twenty-seven times in a matter of seconds. Every stab came from a different angle and aimed for a vital spot. He was determined to restrain the great elder’s movements and force him into the third elder’s powerful thrust.
The great elder wouldn’t just let them do what they want. Soul energy erupted from his body as he attacked the second elder. He saw through the second elder’s moves and managed to grab him by the wrist. He then pivoted on his foot and threw the second elder at the third elder, using him like a projectile.
Some of the elder clan members thought the great elder’s style of fighting was a little unrefined. Who would’ve thought the highly respected great elder would be using street fighting moves to save strength in a friendly sparring match?
However, this was indeed a very effective and efficient move. The third elder had no choice but to stall his forward momentum and stop his attack to avoid hurting the second elder.
The great elder was extremely experienced. This was the perfect opportunity to press his advantage. He lunged forward, a palm strike aimed at the third elder’s face. Seeing as the second and third elders were losing, Wun Ching Yeung finally drew his sword. His sword was plain and ordinary, made of a black and dull metal. He leapt forward, his attack rushing at the great elder.
“Lethality: Sword of the Cloudeater and Mistdrinker.”
Wun Ching Yeung flicked his sword several times, the force of which was like a raging gale tearing through the skies, consuming the clouds and ripping the mist apart. The sword moved as he did, momentum flowing through his body seamlessly with every strike. The power of Wun Ching Yeung’s attack was incomparable to the second and third elder’s attacks.
“Heh, come at me.”
The great elder clenched his fist at the air and an energy sword formed in his fist. He unleashed his own sword technique to meet Wun Ching Yeung’s attack. It wasn’t hard to notice that the energy sword seemed to be somewhat unfocused, as if it wasn’t a complete weapon.
“Lethality: Sword of the Merging Winds and Splitting Clouds.”
The great elder retaliated with his move. Every attack involved large swinging movements, but never too large nor too slow, like the wind and the clouds dancing in harmony. He parried every one of Wun Ching Yeung’s strikes, easily negating the force behind the blade. It was stunningly accurate and precise swordsmanship. The two of them each took a few steps back after exchanging a dozen blows. They stared at each other with their swords in hand.
“I didn’t expect this. Aether forging. It seems like you are almost at the threshold of Martial General, great elder.” Wun Ching Yeung looked extremely impressed. The look of admiration on his face was completely sincere and genuine.
The great elder replied with a bitter smile, “Kid, I’m old. This is as far as I will get. You know this.”
Wun Ching Yeung did not refute what the great elder said. He was well-acquainted with the great elder, but there was still a lot he didn’t know about him. One might say they were well-acquainted strangers and they wouldn’t be wrong. However, at this moment, all he wanted was to face the enemy in combat and enjoy the clash of steel. He took a deep breath of air and set aside all intrusive thoughts. He was one of the strongest individuals in Green Sea Town and rarely had an opportunity to go all out. Now that he finally had a competent sparring partner, he felt an immense desire to fight with all he had. He once again attacked the great elder, chanting, “Lethality: Drifting Winds, Sweeping Clouds.”
Wun Ching Yeung unleashed a different move. His footwork became elusive, shifting back and forth, as did his sword strikes, making them extremely hard to track. The occasional attack would arrive at extremely awkward angles that were difficult even for the great elder to deflect.
“Lethality: Sword of the Light Breeze and Gentle Rain.”
The great elder could sense Wun Ching Yeung’s fighting will and understood what he wanted. He had intended to give his junior some proper training as well. It would be good if he could learn a few things from this battle. He was old now and he needed to train up the next generation. He wasn’t in a hurry to go on the offensive against Wun Ching Yeung. Instead, he wanted to force Wun Ching Yeung to unleash all that he had, which was why he remained so steadfast on the defence. His defensive moves were incredibly practised and well-executed. He parried and deflected every blow without taking a single scratch.
This technique was far beyond the average person!
“Lethality: Slashing Swords.”
“Lethality: The Thirteen Swords of Gathering Clouds.”
The two traded hundreds of blows, switching back and forth from offence to defence. The two elders couldn’t be bothered to interfere; this match had nothing to do with them now. The crowd too was completely engrossed in the battle between the great elder and the clan master, and Wun Fan was no exception.
“This, this is what I want.”
Wun Fan’s eyes were gleaming as he watched the two fight. His mouth was agape and his fists were clenched tightly, like a kid entranced by his favourite toy.
The two combatants’ every move was imprinted deeply in Wun Fan’s mind. He refused to even blink, as if it would be a lifelong regret to miss a single movement or action.624Please respect copyright.PENANAzvI0L5Fui2
