Chan Chi Yuet spoke and carried herself elegantly. She was someone used to navigating all sorts of social situations and had very high emotional intelligence.
That said, Hung Yu Fei appeared to have a natural talent for provoking people. Wun Fan was a living example of that. Almost every word out of her mouth could make someone annoyed.
Was it the way she talked? Was it her expression? Was it the tone of her voice?
Reputation was everything to a woman in Heaven’s Martial World. To call someone a prostitute wasn’t just a simple insult, it was something that could wreck a marriage and a bright future.
To call a woman a prostitute is the most serious of accusations toward them. Moreover, she was doing it in front of Wun Fan. This alone was enough to set aflame Chan Chi Yuet’s usual cool rationality.
“Apologize,” said Chan Chi Yuet as she pulled her sleeve back and revealed her wrists. This was the first time she was showing her assertive side to Wun Fan, “Or I will make you.”
She could sense that this girl was no more than a peak Martial Mortal, yet she was so arrogant. She had to teach her a proper lesson and put her in her place.
“Tsk. Just an advanced Martial Vassal? At your age? I don’t understand how you can make such a scene like this,” said Hung Yu Fei. She could tell that this woman was no ordinary person, but there was no way she was more important than her. She was the lineage descendant of the origin Hung Clan, after all. That was why Hung Yu Fei didn’t hold back with her insults at all and continued with her cutting words.
“Hey, guys,” said Wun Fan. He stepped forward and tried to defuse the situation. For some reason, the two girls didn’t get along at all, even though it was the first time they were meeting each other. In fact, they seemed like they were about to start fighting.
“Shut up!” shouted Chan Chi Yuet and Hung Yu Fei at the same time. They then stared at each other angrily. Chan Chi Yuet put on a cold smile and said, “What gives you the right to shout at him?”
“The fact that I’m younger and better than you!” retorted Hung Yu Fei. She had never lost a single argument since she was just a baby in her mother’s womb.
The only exception being Wun Fan.
When Hung Yu Fei said the word ‘younger’, they dug into Chan Chi Yuet’s heart like a sharp blade. It hurt her deeply and forced her to face the truth of her relationship with Wun Fan.
Born before one’s lover, grown old before lover’s birth. If only he was born early, or if she was born late!
Chan Chi Yuet’s eyes grew cold when reminded of her age difference with Wun Fan. She would not hold back any longer.
She shoved Wun Fan aside forcefully to keep him out of the fight. However, Wun Fan was caught by surprise and lost his balance. He stumbled several times and fell to the ground with a cry.
“Come on, what are you guys fighting for?” said Wun Fan, still confused about the situation. Did the two girls have some sort of unresolved grudge? That didn’t seem to be the case, judging from their conversation. So why were they at each other’s throat?
If Siu Lan were here, she would definitely do a facepalm and say, “What a dense idiot.”
“Evening moon shines on clear water’s riverbed, calm mind sees all movements open as a spread,” said Chan Chi Yuet. Soul energy surged into her eyes. Her pupils dilated and all movement around her seemed to slow down. Even a tiny petal drifting through the air had become several times slower in her eyes.
She raised two fingers in front of her eye as she muttered, “Lethality: Evening Moon’s Waterpiercer.”
“Party tricks,” said Hung Yu Fei when she saw this. However, she didn’t hold back with her response either. She cast out a large handful of leaves as she said, “Lethality: Swift Leaves’ Slashing Sword.”
All the leaves immediately pointed in a direction and shot forward, leaving trails in the air. There was no doubt about the speed, accuracy and devastation of this technique!
“Oh, so it was someone from the Hung Clan. No wonder you have red-tinted black hair and seemed so familiar,” said Chan Chi Yuet as she moved aside. Her body seemed light as a feather and almost weightless as she dashed forward. Soul energy surged through her index fingers. She locked on to every single leaf shooting at her and muttered, “Read the room and ride the winds, do as others wish.”
Lethality: Sycophant’s Windriding Strikes.
Every strike with her fingers landed on the body of the leaves themselves, completely avoiding the leaves’ sharp edges. Power reverberated from her fingers and knocked the leaves away. It was an interesting sight. The many green leaves arrived before Chan Chi Yuet in an instant and fell powerlessly to the snowy ground the very next second.
Hung Yu Fei was shocked to see this. If she was an agile and flexible fighter like a playful fox, then this woman was fast!
Simply fast!
“Wow…as expected,” said Wun Fan. He was stunned to see Chan Chi Yuet’s display of skill as well. He couldn’t help but mutter, “Of all the martial arts in the world, there is none that cannot be defeated, with one exception. Speed is insurmountable.”
“Speed is insurmountable?” repeated Fung Ching, once again surprised by Wun Fan’s words. They were simple but seemed to contain tremendous wisdom. How was a kid smaller than him able to come out with such wise sayings?
“Lethality: Brisk Wind’s Flying Leaves Dance,” said Hung Yu Fei. She was on the backfoot now and wanted to turn the tides to her advantage again. Her aura grew in strength as she took out another large handful of leaves from her storage ring. She seemed to have an endless supply of them. However, the moment she increased her power output, Chan Chi Yuet realized that she wasn’t just a peak Martial Mortal. The girl had probably used some sort of martial technique or ability to perfectly conceal her true power.
“Hmph!” said Chan Chi Yuet. The look in her eyes was a little different now. They might have only started fighting out of impulse, but now it was a matter of their reputation. Amongst the four major clans, the Chan Clan had always been at odds with the Hung Clan. The reason was simple. Merchants and government officials were either in cahoots, or bitter rivals!
Hung Yun Gak might have held her as a child, but that was no more than superficial niceties. The two clans’ relations were incredibly tense.
Hung Yu Fei had also realized that her opponent was from the Chan Clan after seeing her use finger techniques. She also became even more upset and quickly cried out, “The women of the Chan Clan always love to steal things. First they steal money, next they steal the men!”
“And third, we steal your life!” shouted Chan Chi Yuet in response. She no longer bothered to keep up a courteous facade after finding out that she was fighting someone from a rival clan. Her movements became a lot cruder as she said, “Lethality: Eighty-One Rapid Strikes.”
Chan Chi Yuet’s fingers turned hard as steel as she reinforced them with soul energy. She unleashed eighty-one strikes in an instant. She would strike with one finger every time, and one strike would fall several leaves at the same time. In the blink of an eye, all the leaves around Hung Yu Fei had been struck down!
“Get away!” shouted Hung Yu Fei as she stopped herself mid-dance and retaliated with a palm strike, aimed at Chan Chi Yuet’s chest. Chan Chi Yuet suddenly kicked the ground and leaped into the air, causing Hung Yu Fei’s palm to miss. She then lunged at her from above, trying to catch her off guard.
“Lethality: Heaven’s Crashing Strike,” she said. Her target was Hung Yu Fei’s Heaven Court Point. If this pressure point were struck, she would be disoriented and greatly weakened!
“Lethality: The Forbidden Red,” said Hung Yu Fei. She thrust out a red flower. She had hidden the red flower in her palm earlier to counter this exact technique. Their clan were well-versed in their rivals’ abilities. Naturally, she knew exactly what to do in response to their attacks.
Hung Yu Fei’s flower and Chan Chi Yuet’s finger struck each other, causing a loud explosion in the air. Even some of the snow around them were knocked up.
Chan Chi Yuet borrowed the force of the explosion to land further away from Hung Yu Fei. The snow that had been knocked into the air slowly drifted down. However, Evening Moon’s Waterpiercer allowed Chan Chi Yuet to remain perfect vision even under these conditions.
Hung Yu Fei coughed lightly from the dirt and snow sent into the ground. She stared at Chan Chi Yuet angrily and said, “You forced my hand.”
This little demon lord was never a good girl to begin with. She didn’t know when to stop and how to stop. She had no intentions of holding back now that Chan Chi Yuet had angered her. Several dozen red flowers appeared in her palm. She cast them into the air as she said, “Lethality: Sky Waters Float Falling Flowers.”
“Brat, that’s enough,” reprimanded Wun Fan when he saw things escalating. He immediately stepped up in front of Chan Chi Yuet to cover for her.
“You are helping her?” said Hung Yu Fei, tears welling up her eyes. She didn’t understand why Wun Fan treated her like this and scolded her when she was always on his side.
“Hmph! I know you don’t want me to do this, which is why I’m going to do it!” She turned her index finger around and pointed down. The flowers moved as she said, “Lethality: Falling Flowers’ Thousand Spinning Dance.”
All the red flowers immediately started spinning and crashed down quickly at the Wun Fan and Chan Chi Yuet.
Wun Fan summoned his martial soul and conjured soul energy to his palm. He intended to knock down all the falling flowers. He said, “Lethality: Dragon’s…”
Just then, a dozen fireballs cut across the air before he could even make a move. In just two seconds, all the flowers in the air had been burned to ashes. Even the temperature of the surroundings seemed to have turned warm.
The flames illuminated everyone’s faces and the gates of the Wun Mansion. Someone was walking toward them.
Wun Fan stared at the flames in the sky and a smile crept up his lips. A chime-like voice echoed from the distance, “Wun Fan.”120Please respect copyright.PENANAP8BlBGm6mG
