The Green Wolf Gang members abandoned their horses at the entrance of the Green Sea Forest and proceeded on foot. They headed toward the location of Fung Ching’s mission. The group started travelling in the early dawn after a night of camping.
They smelled blood in the air and quickly found the source.
The gang members saw the chaotic and messy remnants of a battlefield. They immediately scattered to examine the location. One of them returned to the group with a strand of long hair. He said respectfully, “Commander, there’s a woman’s hair here. Black with a hint of red. It fits the description of that girl.”
The commander scratched his nose. His breathing turned heavy and ragged. A ferocious surge of soul energy erupted from his body, blasting away the leaves on the ground. His soul energy lingered around his limbs and body, the mark of a Martial Master.
Soul Energy Shell!
He was visibly displeased and said furiously, “I, Bat Yun, commander of the Flower Thief Squad, command you all to march forward at full speed! We will not stop until we have hunted down the two of them!”
“Understood!” shouted the wolves in response. They then scattered out and marched forward in a wide but loose web formation. Bat Yun followed behind all of them, anger still simmering in his eyes. In all the years he had been the commander of the Flower Thief Suqad, he had never seen someone humiliate the Green Wolf Gang in this manner!
Bat Yun did not believe that a group of thirty-seven men led by a Martial Master like himself could not deal with two measly Martial Mortals. Even the teenager with the bow was no match for the combined might of them all, even if he was a Martial Master as well!
The gang member that picked up Hung Yu Fei’s hair brought it before his nose and took a big sniff. He channelled his soul energy as he did so and muttered, “Lethality: Wolf’s Nose, Captured Smell.”
He immediately memorized Hung Yu Fei’s smell and started sniffing around. He would crouch down and lean against trees, sniffing all the way. His nose took in any and all particles of smell in the air, constantly searching for Hung Yu Fei’s fragrance, looking like a pervert while doing so.
Finally, he locked on to a direction and shouted, “That way, commander!”
“Hmph!” said Bat Yun as a smile crept up the corner of his mouth. He rallied his men and marched forth.148Please respect copyright.PENANAjbgiBPHM00
“Song of the Magical Beasts!”
“Crushing Dragon’s Claw!”
“Swift Leaves’ Slashing Sword!”
Wun Fan and his companions made quick work of two dozen strange magical beasts with no eyes. They quickly carved out the inner cores from their bodies. Wun Fan touched each of their bodies and absorbed their death aura. Li’l Black was extremely excited and overjoyed. It was happy to have a good master who always fed it death aura, keeping it fed and happy.
With this new wave of death aura, Wun Fan had finally accumulated enough soul energy to break through the Three-Ying Leg Meridians. He was now a peak Martial Mortal. The meridians in his limbs were fully excavated, causing his every action and movement to be full of power. It was an exhilarating feeling. Wun Fan even felt like he had grown one to two centimeters during the process, but he couldn’t be sure.
That said, Wun Fan was hesitant to rejoice. The speed at which he was improving seemed to be a little too fast. Sometimes he was worried that his foundations weren’t solid enough.
However, Old Lei immediately mocked him for that idea, “The rate of your improvement is nothing compared to the heirs of powerful martial clans. Still, it’s not a bad thing to be cautious. Murder as a means to gain power is not a righteous path.”
“I know, I know,” said Wun Fan with a pout. Old Lei just loved knocking him down a peg.
Snap. Hung Yu Fei accidentally stepped on a branch. Wun Fan immediately felt uneasy. His powerful sixth sense was telling him that something was about to happen. He quickly said to the other two, “Fung Ching, brat, we have to move quicker.”
“Tsk, we are already sprinting, aren’t we? We haven’t even had the time to eat breakfast,” complained Hung Yu Fei. She was clearly upset with Wun Fan pushing them to go faster.
However, Fung Ching knew that Wun Fan would never do anything without reason. He turned around and asked, “Is something wrong?”
“Not yet,” replied Wun Fan as he continued to move faster and faster, until he was going at full speed. He was moving so fast, the wind pressure was snapping leaves off the trees. Suddenly, Old Lei said in a stern tone, “Stop.”
“Stop!” shouted Wun Fan to his companions. He immediately stopped his feet, leaving tracks in the ground. He immediately conversed with Old Lei in his mind, “What’s wrong, Old Lei?”
“Someone’s tracking you from behind and they’re fast,” said Old Lei. He heightened his senses and said, “A total of thirty-seven people. One of them is a Martial Master, ten Martial Scholars, and twenty-six Martial Vassals. That’s a little overkill for three kids.”
“What the fuck? That many?” cursed Wun Fan in English. His voice echoed in the woods. He didn’t even need to guess. Their pursuers were definitely members of the Green Wolf Gang. He knew they would come after them, but he didn’t expect the retaliation to come so quickly and with so much force. They even mobilized a Martial Master!
Fung Ching had been paying attention to Wun Fan all this while. Waht-Da-Fak? Was that some kind of local dialect?
Wun Fan would definitely laugh out loud if he knew what Fung Ching was thinking. TO think English, the global language, would be mistaken for a local dialect.
Wun Fan thought to himself, This is the most powerful enemy I have ever faced. If I could absorb his death aura…
He unconsciously licked his lips at the thought, almost as if he was hungry.
His heart beat faster and his blood rushed through his veins. He couldn’t help but feel eager and excited. Li’l Black echoed his feelings and roared vigorously in his martial heart.
“I have a plan. You might be talented, kid, but you are still growing,” said Old Lei, sounding as confident as always, as if the thirty-seven pursuers were not a threat at all. Wun Fan couldn’t help but ask out of curiosity, “What plan?”
“Flee before a powerful enemy, and borrow strength where you can,” said Old Lei in a cryptic manner. He turned Wun Fan’s question around and asked him instead, “What’s the most plentiful thing in the forest?”
“Plants?” said Wun Fan as he looked around him.
“Ah…” said Old Lei, before chuckling. Wun Fan wasn’t wrong, but it wasn’t the answer he wanted. He then explained, “The answer is magical beasts, you idiot.”
“Then…?”
“Wahahaha!” laughed Old Lei hysterically. There was a hint of evil in his voice. It seemed like he had been affected by Wun Fan’s bad habit of smiling mischievously.148Please respect copyright.PENANAWoHV9Yt2C7
“What is it, Wun Fan?” said Hung Yu Fei, calling Wun Fan by his name for once. She couldn’t help but worry when she saw him mutter to himself. Meanwhile, Fung Ching stood by quietly. After the two battles they fought together, he trusted Wun Fan completely. Wun Fan didn’t seem to worry, so he felt no pressure either.
After all, Fung Ching was a very straightforward young man. He hardly made things too complicated than they should be. With Wun Fan here, he was calm and relaxed. It was strange enough that an eleven-year-old boy could make a sixteen-year-old teenager like himself feel this way.
“The Green Wolf Gang is here. Thirty-seven people in total,” said Wun Fan, revealing the information Old Lei gave to him to the other two. Meanwhile, he listened to Old Lei’s plan in his mind. It was absolutely brilliant.
“Thirty-seven of them? Alright! I’ll show them what I’m made of!” said Hung Yu Fei excitedly. She was shocked to hear their numbers at first, but immediately got excited at the thought of so many people chasing after her.
It would definitely be an exciting battle!
“Good! Let them come! The more of them come at us, the more of them we get to kill! Doing good for the world! Hahaha!” said Fung Ching boldly and with plenty of righteous glee. Wun Fan couldn’t help but rub his head when he heard their responses. He broke the facts to them, “One Martial Master, ten Martial Scholars, twenty-six Martial Vassals. You guys think you got this?”
Fung Ching’s laughter immediately stopped when he heard this. Hung Yu Fei also stared at the two of them without a single word. The two of them looked at Wun Fan, believing that he had a plan for them.
“Hurry up and tell us,” shouted Hung Yu Fei. She hated people who weren’t straightforward. They reminded her of her father.
Wun Fan suddenly touched his thumb. A surge of soul energy rushed into the Spiritstartler Ring. There was a flash of light as Old Lei threw a gray pouch out of the ring. Wun Fan flashed a nasty smile as he put his experience as a salesperson from his past life to use and said, “Take a look at this, our newest product. Trust me, you will not want to miss out on a product as fine as this.”
A small puff of powder came out of the pouch when it landed on Wun Fan’s palm. It had a strange smell to it that made Fung Ching and Hung Yu Fei’s blood run faster. They could feel an oddly powerful killing intent rising within them. It was an uncomfortable feeling. Wun Fan didn’t seem affected at all.
The two of them quickly conjured soul energy to suppress this feeling. Fung Ching frowned and asked, “What is this thing?”
Wun Fan flashed a pearly-white smile and said simply, “Beastmania Powder.”148Please respect copyright.PENANAmTOtq7jsHJ
