Four thousand fairy maidens approach heaven’s river. They dip their fingers into the water and wash the rouge from their faces, the powder falling down upon the mortals.
“Fall!” shouted the woman.
The petals fell like powdered rain at the woman’s orders. Thousands of pink petals rushed through the air, washing towards Wither Two and Wither Three like a thundering wave. Every single petal radiated its own killing intent. This was a dangerously lethal move!
Every petal was as sharp as a blade. If the two of them were caught in this wave, they would be minced to pieces in a matter of seconds.
It’s someone from the Hung Clan!, thought the two of them when they saw the rushing petals. Almost everyone in Naap-Lan Empire could recognize the martial techniques of the Hung Clan, let alone they themselves, who were also part of the clan!
The two of them were completely at a loss. How did they end up fighting another member of the Hung Clan!
“Martial soul, descend,” said the two of them. There was no time to explain. They had to summon their martial souls or they would be dead!
Wither Two and Three stood back to back and started making handsigns at the same time. They exhausted all their soul energy and shouted loudly, “Lethality: Withered Cries Shed No Tears.”
They knew how dangerous the opponent’s attack was and had no choice but to defend with all their strength. Wither Two and Three’s soul energy dissipated, spreading outward and forming a strange forcefield. All the approaching petals immediately lost their momentum, like kites whose strings had been cut. The petals themselves withered before their eyes, turning into dirt.
However, the torrent of petals was too many and too fast to wither away. Just ten more seconds and they would be dead!
However, the woman in red instantly understood everything when she saw Wither Two and Wither Three’s martial technique. She muttered to herself, “So they were on the same side? No wonder their aura felt so familiar.”
After all, only certain influential and powerful individuals within the Hung Clan knew about the existence of Wither. She wasn’t usually involved with Wither, which was why she didn’t immediately figure out who they were.
This was a misunderstanding!
“Scatter,” said the woman as she waved her hands and dispelled the sea of petals. The petals dissipated into nothingness, revealing the two men.
The two men crumpled to their knees from exhaustion after surviving. They took deep breaths as they tried to recover. The woman stopped as well and took some time to recover as well. Forcefully stopping her martial technique had caused some internal injuries.
She approached the two men and asked, “You are Wither?”
“Yes, madam,” said Wither Two respectfully. This woman was a member of the Hung Clan and a powerful individual. Naturally, she deserved their respect. Wither Three was behaving respectfully as well, but his clenched fist betrayed his anxiety.
“You two are looking for Hung Yu Fei, correct?” said the woman as she brushed her hair. After thinking for a bit, she easily figured out why these two men were here. She continued, “I thought you were members of the Green Wolf Gang pursuing her. I can’t believe you made me show myself like this. Very annoying.”
“From now on, let me handle her protection alone,” she concluded.
“We are here to protect the young mistress by the clan leader’s orders, madam. May we know your name?” said Wither Two in a cautious tone, bowing as he did so. He was still nervous. After all, the clan leader gave them the order to protect Hung Yu Fei. If they were to retreat now, they might incur his wrath and suffer for it.
“Mm, right, you guys have to answer to your superior as well,” she said as she flipped her hair. She understood what the two men wanted and threw a jade medallion at them before walking away.
Her smooth voice echoed by their ears as her silhouette vanished, “The clan leader you are referring to must be the leader of the Green Sea Town’s Hung Clan, yes? Take this medallion and tell Hung Yun Zak that Hung Yeuk Huen is protecting the young mistress.”
Wither Two and Wither Three looked down and saw the emblem of the Hung Clan’s origin house. They turned the medallion over and saw the works ‘Yeuk Heun’ carved into the back.
Even Hung Yeuk Huen felt a headache coming on when she thought of Hung Yu Fei. In all her years of living, she had never met someone as bold and reckless as her.
She still remembered what the clan leader told her the day before the young mistress left on their expedition, “Yeuk Huen, follow after Yu Fei. She’s bold enough to put laxatives in her own fiancé’s food. If she could do that to the third prince of the Empire, I’m sure she won’t hesitate to mess with the guards and leave on her own little adventure.”
“At what point should I stop the young mistress then, clan leader?”
“You don’t have to. Unless her life is in danger, just let her be. With her personality, the only way she will learn is if she runs headfirst into a wall,” said Hung Yun Gak with a particularly frustrated expression. Even Hung Yeun Huek couldn’t help but feel bad for him.
Of course the lineage daughter of one of the four major clans would have a proper guard by her side. Otherwise, if she were to be abducted by an enemy, she could be used as leverage to threaten and blackmail the clan.
The guards that she usually had were no more than a facade. Hung Yeuk Huen was Hung Yu Fei’s actual bodyguard!
Hung Yeuk Huen had considered revealing herself to protect the young mistress several times during their fight with the Green Wolf Gang. However, the young boy called Wun Fan unleashed extraordinary power and slaughtered all the enemies with his own hands. This allowed her to continue following Hung Yu Fei in secret.
Given Hung Yu Fei’s personality, she would probably not allow Hung Yeuk Huen to continue following her once Hung Yeuk Huen revealed herself. If that happened, Hung Yeuk Huen would have no choice but to forcibly bring Hung Yu Fei back with her to the capital.
That said, Wun Fan’s strange fire martial soul was completely unlike the martial souls of the Wun Clan. Hung Yeuk Huen wondered if he was a non-house disciple. That said, the boy’s power was very strange. He had a tremendous and sudden boost in power in combat, while also ascending the realms very quickly. She couldn’t help but be curious of him.
More importantly, Hung Yeuk Huen saw how obedient Hung Yu Fei was in front of him. This was completely unlike her! This was definitely not a good thing. After all, even her own father could not get her to behave like this. Hung Yeuk Huen was thirty years old and very much understood what a maiden-in-love looks like!
She couldn’t believe that Hung Yu Fei used that signature martial technique on the disciple of a clan in a remote village. She was speechless. It was a complete waste of Hung Yu Fei’s feelings.
“Sigh, what a mess,” said Hung Yeuk Huen with a sigh. She leapt onto a tree branch as she muttered, “Lethality: Well-Hidden Flower of the Untrodden Path.”
Her powerful aura vanished like a receding tide. She once again hid her presence. A dark shade stained her skin, allowing her to blend into her surroundings. You could not see her with your eyes, even if you were right next to her. This concealment technique was far more powerful than what the two Withers had used earlier.
Wither Two and Three bowed and bid farewell to the woman. About a dozen seconds later, she was completely gone. It was only then that they let out a breath of relief.

The sun rose as a red wheel from the east. The horizon where the sea and sky met glowed with blinding red radiance. It was dawn once again. Where light and darkness clashed was where the purple energy came from.
Wun Fan absorbed as much purple energy as he could. The Spiritstartler Ring in his thumb hummed powerfully and released a large amount of aether. The aether nourished his meridians and strengthened his foundations as a novice Martial Vassal.
He opened his eyes and they gleamed brightly. Wun Fan moved his body slowly. He could feel endless power contained within him. He almost felt like he could shatter mountains and empty seas with this kind of power.
He resisted the urge to howl and roar. He didn’t want to wake up the others. So he closed his eyes and guided his mental energy into his martial heart, where Li’l Black was.
He was surprised at what he saw.
The black-scaled dragon that resided in his martial heart looked menacing. It had grown two horns, one short and one long. It was also much longer in size than before and its scales were much more tightly packed together. The black energy that he glowed with seemed more powerful and his claws seemed sharper.
Li’l Black soared freely in his martial heart without wings, as if expressing its delight. It happily approached Wun Fan when he saw him, a rare hint of happiness in its eyes.
Wun Fan rubbed Li’l Black’s head as he chuckled, “Partner, your martial techniques are amazing. They are simple but effective. Hopefully you can teach me more techniques like this in the future.”
Li’l Black opened its jaw and closed it again and again, as if it was laughing. It turned around and looked at Wun Fan, before giving him a face full of spit again. Wun Fan’s smile turned into a frown.
Just then, there was a flash of light as Old Lei’s silhouette appeared inside Wun Fan’s martial heart. He stroked his beard with a smile, but then said in a grave tone, “This martial heart of yours is a double-edged sword. That said, there’s no denying how quickly it helps you grow in power.”
Wun Fan might become powerful because of this power of his, but it was likely that that same power would be his downfall.
Some sort of preparation had to be made for the future with this in mind. Old Lei couldn’t help but feel a headache at the thought of this.132Please respect copyright.PENANAdPxZU7wjlN
