Wun Siu Lan was wearing her usual light blue dress. Her cold air of arrogance almost seemed to separate her from the heat of the flames. A weak-willed person would feel a chill run down their spine if they just looked at her.
Usually, she wore a mask with a very simple design. However, today, her mask had spots of blue ink painted on it. It was quite the striking look.
Siu Lan slowly walked toward them. Every step was synchronized with her breathing. She contained her aura within herself, yet Chan Chi Yuet and Hung Yu Fei still felt a mysterious pressure as she approached. Chan Chi Yuet couldn’t help but stay alert as she thought to herself, The jade amulet that I keep on my person should protect me against the aura of even a peak Martial Scholar. Could she already have…?
If her assumption was right, then Siu Lan’s growth was truly terrifying. She was young but she would have achieved a martial realm that most people would not be able to obtain in their entire lives.
Hung Yu Fei was upset when she heard Wun Fan call Siu Lan by her name. Another girl? Moreover, her figure and the way she carried herself were all quite attractive. She was young and small, but she still had her charm. She seemed to be quite powerful as well. The martial technique that Hung Yu Fei unleashed with most of her power were burnt to ashes in a matter of seconds, yet this little girl didn’t seem exhausted. She had not exerted herself at all. She was a powerful opponent.
This stupid boy! Why is he surrounded by so many beautiful girls? shouted Hung Yu Fei in her own mind, echoing the sentiments of many guys.
Even Old Lei couldn’t help but speak words of praise in Wun Fan’s mind when he saw Wun Siu Lan, “This girl is excellent. To think she could improve so quickly even in this rural place. She’s already a novice Martial Master. I’m impressed. As expected, as expected.”
“As expected of what, Old Lei?” said Wun Fan. He really hated people who didn’t finish their sentences and who leave him hanging.
“Heh, it’s not the time yet. Some secrets can’t be revealed so easily,” said Old Lei before going quiet again. He ignored Wun Fan yelling and whining loudly behind him.
Old Lei’s words made Wun Fan even more certain that Wun Siu Lan’s background was not ordinary. Why else would Old Lei speak so highly of her? In all honesty, Wun Fan was not the least bit surprised at Siu Lan’s ascension to novice Martial Master realm. After all, she had taken on an extra round of tribulations compared to other people. It was proof that she was a prodigy that even the heavens were envious of.
However, there was just one part of Old Lei’s words that resonated with him. It’s not the time yet. However, once he had the power, the opportunities would naturally come to him and everything would reveal themselves. That was why he needed to train harder and become stronger. He did not have the power needed to protect other people as he was right now.
He didn’t want to become a useless person who only hides behind a woman’s back. You can call him misogynistic or bigoted, but he believed that a man should always be the one who protects a woman. That was a given.
Siu Lan slowly walked before Wun Fan. Her air of arrogance was so overwhelming that even Chan Chi Yuet couldn’t bear her oppressive presence. She had to take a few steps back to feel better.
Siu Lan looked up at Wun Fan. She stood on her tiptoes and placed her white hand on his forehead. She rubbed his head and said, “Wun Fan, you grew taller.”
Their heights had not been that different when he left, but now she had to look up to see his face.
“Why did you come out?” said Wun Fan. He enjoyed this feeling of having his head rubbed. It was comfortable.
“I just knew you came back,” said Siu Lan as she shrugged, just like Wun Fan liked to do.
“Oh.”
“Are you touched?”
“So touched I want to cry.”
“Then go ahead and cry. Don’t forget to wipe the tears away,” said Siu Lan as she passed him a gray handkerchief. The character ‘Fan’ was embroidered in a corner of the handkerchief in gold and white thread, giving off an elegant feel. She continued, “You know, I’m really strong now. I can protect you, Wun Fan.”
“I want you to only cry out of happiness from now on,” she said.
“You little brat,” said Wun Fan with a chuckle. However, his heart was filled with a warm sensation when he took the handkerchief from her hand. For a moment, he really wanted to pull the girl his arms and feel her warmth and heartbeat against his body.
Chan Chi Yuet wasn’t quite bothered by this scene. She already knew that Wun Fan and Siu Lan were very close. She simply smiled. On the other hand, Hung Yu Fei couldn’t be more jealous. She felt jealousy fill up her insides, before rushing up to her eyes and spilling out in the form of tears.
“Wun Fan, who is she?” demanded Hung Yu Fei in a nasty tone. Siu Lan was upset when she heard her speak like that.
She turned around and glanced at Hung Yu Fei, before saying coldly, “You were the one who attacked earlier, correct?”
“Shut up!” shouted Hung Yu Fei at Siu Lan. She stared straight at Wun Fan. She could hardly control her emotions. Even she herself didn’t understand why she felt so terrible right now. She didn’t understand why the Crimson Kiss, the Flower of Everlasting Protection didn’t work. The only thing she knew was that she wanted answers.
“Mm,” said Siu Lan, suddenly flashing a sweet smile on her face. Of course, no one could see the smile hidden under her mask. She stared at Hung Yu Fei with anger. She would never forgive anyone who dared to hurt Wun Fan.
“Oh, I haven’t introduced you guys,” said Wun Fan with a smile, hoping to dissolve the tension and avoid further conflict. However, when he looked at Hung Yu Fei, he simply couldn’t understand why she was having such a huge emotional reaction. He continued, “This is Miss Chan Chi Yuet, who is in charge of the Green Sea Town’s Chan Clan and this is my sister, Wun Siu Lan.”
“Would a sister be so close to his brother?” said Hung Yu Fei through gritted teeth. She could tell that there was something unusual about this whole thing.
Her words inadvertently affected Wun Fan. He had always been avoiding looking at his relationship and feelings toward Siu Lan too closely. Hung Yu Fei’s word had pierced through that thin veil he kept over the whole affair. It upset him. He frowned and said, “And what does that have to do with you?”
“You…” said Hung Yu Fei. Her eyes opened wide with anger. She couldn’t believe that Wun Fan would say that to her. Meanwhile, Chan Chi Yuet felt a little pity for the girl. It was obvious that the girl in red was a spoiled young lady who was used to getting her way. Perhaps it was a good thing that she was not getting her way this time.
Fung Ching remained quiet on the sidelines. He stepped aside to avoid getting dragged into the whole conflict.
“I hate you, Wun Fan!” shouted Hung Yu Fei before attacking.
“Lethality: Red-Stained Spinning Leaves Palm Strike!” she cried.
Shapr green leaves spun on her palm. She lunged forward and prepared to strike at Wun Fan’s chest. This little boy in front of her didn’t understand what she had sacrificed for him. She had even used that important clan technique!
Crimson Kiss, Flower of Everlasting Protection is a technique that each woman of the Hung Clan could only use once in their entire lives. Yet, he had absolutely no idea what a tremendous sacrifice she had made for him. That was why she genuinely felt a sense of anger and hatred toward him. However, Hung Yu Fei didn’t know how to express her feelings with words and could only do so through action.
“Hmph,” scoffed Siu Lan. If it were possible to attack Wun Fan while she was by his side, then how could she ever hope to protect him?
“The sixth flame, Formless Origin is its name, forge of Sacred weapons that shall maim,” muttered Siu Lan as she channeled power to her feet. She charged past Wun Fan and stood in the way of Hung Yu Fei. She said simply, “Lethality: Thousand Armaments Flame.” Gray light flashed in her left hand as a gauntlet appeared. She blocked the palm strike with a punch.
Screech!
A high-pitch screech could be heard as Hung Yu Fei’s Red-Stained Spinning Leaves Palm Strike clashed with Siu Lan’s Thousand Armaments Flame. Of course, as a Martial Master, Wun Siu Lan’s power was superior.
Hung Yu Fei was knocked back by Siu Lan’s punched and left a trail in the snow. Her palm ached and her energy circulation had been disrupted. Even her breathing was ragged.
“Lethality...” said Hung Yu Fei. She refused to stop here. However, Siu Lan expected this outcome and immediately followed up with another attack. She cried, “Thousand Armaments Flame!”
Gray light flashed again, this time turning into a ten-feet long chain. Siu Lan wielded it as if she it was an extension of her body. The chain whipped through the air and instantly wrapped itself around Hung Yu Fei, binding her completely!
“You…” said Hung Yu Fei. She finally managed to find her footing and was about to break free of her constraints when her left feet tripped. She fell to the ground and cried out in pain. She was in a very disadvantageous position.
However, Siu Lan would not hold back just because she was a girl. That had nothing to do with her.
“Lethality: Turbid Bone-eating Flame!” she shouted. White flames burned along the chains. If these reached Hung Yu Fei, she would be injured pretty badly and would have to rest for a month to recover.
“Sigh,” said a gentle voice. A red leaf quickly shot through the air, easily severing the chain. Moreover, the red leaf seemed to have a mind of its own. It circled in the air several times, completely slicing off Hung Yu Fei’s restraints.
A figure slowly came down from the skies, walking on leaves as if they were stairs. It was a tall and slender woman wearing a pink dress. Every step she took was light and elegant. When she landed on the ground, Hung Yu Fei saw her and let out a ghastly scream, “Sister Huen?”
Hung Yeuk Huen coughed awkwardly. She wasn’t happy with Hung Yu Fei’s address and quickly corrected her, “I told you before, call me Aunty Huen.” Even though Hung Yeuk Huen was only thirty years old, she was Hung Yu Fei’s elder. It was inappropriate for someone of a younger generation to call her sister.
“But why are you here in Green Sea Town?” asked Hung Yu Fei, still confused about the whole situation.
“The clan leader was worried about you. He asked me to follow and protect you, but only to help if you were in danger,” said Hung Yeuk Huen with a troubled expression. She shook her head, sighed and said, “You would have been injured badly if you were hit by that technique just now. I couldn’t stop myself from stepping in.”
While the two of them were talking, another conversation was taking place as well.
“Wun Fan!” shouted Old Lei in an alarmed tone for the first time. He seemed extremely concerned. Moreover, he was drawing a large amount of aether from within the Spiritstartler Ring, preparing to take over Wun Fan’s body at a moment’s notice. He warned Wun Fan, “Be careful of this woman!”
“What is it, Old Lei?” asked Wun Fan. He had never seen Old Lei so worried.
“She has entered the realm of a peak Martial Spirit!” he said.106Please respect copyright.PENANAXHvQML8M3y
