Why do we live? A lot of people struggle with this.
But... you might find that people who were born in difficult circumstances don't worry about this so much. That's because they're too busy trying to survive to think about things like this. They have a family to care for; and without them, everything will fall apart; they can't afford dying.
Of course, that some just buckle underneath the immense pressure.

In my country, the rate of teen suicide is one of the highest. Why? It's a first world country, and situations such as bad domestic abuse aren't common/are taken seriously. Most people live comfortably.
Although obviously not statistically based, these are some key factors that are from my own experiences and deductions:
1. Lack of challenges. People here... are too comfortable. The government doesn't push or encourage students to study, go to university and contribute to society. Instead, they reward people who do nothing. Too much funding goes to homeless shelters and doesn't try to get rid of the problem or improve their situation by providing them with a job and stable income. Instead, they just hand out... "pocket money" for doing nothing.
Basically, we have it too good. We were born and pampered, so when things get a little~ hard later in life, or you have no idea what to do... you'll experience the emptiness called "meaningless". Ie. an existential crisis.
2. Social media, isolation and bullying. During Covid... there were a few students at my school (in the years below me) who took their own life. One was due to severe cyber bullying and isolation. It's bad enough there's hate comments coming from strangers from the internet, but with your very own friends? Disgusting. Highlighted by the fact that if you're lonely, feel worthless and struggle with self-confidence, seeing everyone on social media living their best life ain't the best.
This is amplified by the fact that almost everything can be done remotely nowadays. Staying inside in a small area, barely moving, sleeping irregularly, and maximising screen time with no physical contact with people has scientifically proved impacts on your body, making you miserable, tired, anxious, and basically ruins your body's natural cycles (+ hormones).

Not gonna lie, back in my day, people of our social class were relatively less depressed. In the days of prank calling Pizza hut, playing handball, card games, hand games, marbles, searching up your classmates on phonebooks and finding their address, having "playdates"... Back when not everyone just stares at their devices when having to stay idle for more that 10 seconds. Life was simple. You'd find happiness by just doing the most stupidest and mundane things.
So let's bring everything back to the beginning. The meaning of life.
Living is hard. So I'll say to you, well done for getting out of bed this morning.
For those who don't have a grand meaning, and are struggling, it's okay.
Live for the small moments. The amazing meals your grandmother makes. Your favourite restaurant. The next episode of your favourite show. The sunrise. The possibility to be able to travel the world some day. Instant ramen. The feeling when you make someone smile. Puppy love. Going on your first date. Getting your first paycheck. Buying yourself a treat with the money you've earned for yourself. Travelling with friends.
And if you're struggling with suicidal thoughts... just live one more day. One more day. Keep yourself alive. And everything else will come eventually.
And if you don't think you're ever going to be happy... have a little more faith in yourself.
Someone out there... is glad you exist.
There are a lot of people around me that know "where they're from, why they're here, and where they're going." I'm not too sure of that myself, but I hope you'll figure it out as well someday.
Charlie's advice of the day: Don't make decisions/take action out of fear, but instead out of love and faith. Living without protecting what needs to be protected is the same as death. Don't base your meaning on one thing/person (well if it helps you stay alive, sure. But in the long run... not a good idea.)339Please respect copyright.PENANACNljpDxUy2

A bit hypocritical of me as fear is the only thing that really motivates me :' D
