“I just don’t know how to convince you I have no anger on you for your sexual association like that with Tippu. To that matter I also did not spend a too much holy life in my youth.” John said looking at her.
Jasmine removed her hands from her face, looked into the face of John and nodded her head. “So my brother has not got just a doubt but convinced himself about it. Just like me.” She said.
“I cannot understand what you are talking!” John said with a confusing expression in his face.
“Whenever I found some resemblance with that rogue in my eyes and in my ears, I thought I was just mistaken! But it is true.” Jasmine said as if she did not hear John at all.
“Still I cannot get you!” there was the same confusing expression in the face of John. “What you are really trying to say to me?”
“That I am the daughter of that bastard Dibbu but not Raja Prathap.”
“I just....I just can’t believe it!” with an astounding expression in his face John exclaimed. “You are the daughter of that servant scoundrel Dibbu?”
“How much you did know about that Dibbu? Have you a clear look at him at any time?” Jasmine knitted her brows together.
“Your mom killed him and killed herself before our marriage itself. You know yourself that I did not come many a time to your home before that. I came here just three or four occasions before our marriage and got the chance to meet him on one or two occasions. But I must say I never thought to observe him keenly. But he used to wear a turban and had a beard also.”
“I know him from the very beginning of my life and grew up in his hands. He used to show lot of interest, love and affection on me but I never have thought seriously about it. My mom used to chid him, scold him and treat him so lower ..............”
“That was an act put up by her to make people never to suspect the relationship between her and that Dibbu.” John said. “On one occasion I met with her, she talked with that Dibbu so angrily and insultingly.”
“You are absolutely right.” Jasmine nodded her head “Whoever saw the treatment that Dibbu got in her hands could suspect that he was having it with her and made her pregnant with me.”
“That servant bastard has the audacity to make a relationship with your mother, the wife of Raja Prathap, richest person in the country. Just unbelievable! What even more unbelievable is how your mom, such a dignified and beautiful lady, wanted to maintain such an illicit relationship with the servant in the house!” the surprise in the face of John was quite genuine.
“So I did not tell you the real story yet!” even in that situation also Jasmine laughed. “Just know it from me now.” Then she told him the story of her mother to John. “A little research in this matter let me know about this. But I never have thought that I was the daughter of that bastard. Even while I was finding resemblance in me with that rogue, I thought that it was just my imagination until my brother blurted it out like that.”
“It may still be your imagination and not true. Your brother is in a fit of rage and he did not know what he was talking. He just said it like that in that rage without thinking anything.” John said.
“I said that I have grown up in his hands and I had the chance to observe him closely. I can say the resemblance of my eyes and ears with him is not just my imagination. I am his daughter, there is no doubt at all.” Jasmine sighed heavily.
“There are so many people in the world with the same types of eyes and with the same types of ears. The resemblance between you and that guy may just be coincidental.” John still did not lose his hope. “You may be the daughter of that Raja Prathap.”
“If it is so, I am so lucky.” Jasmine said. “Anyhow my mom has written a book about her life and it is with Rose. If I have read that book, my doubt would be cleared I think.”
“Then why don’t you take that book from her and read it?”
“Rose said that it is not wise now either to me or my brother to read that book. She is not giving that book to me.”
“If you insist; she sure will give it to you.”
“Of course, you are right.” Jasmine nodded her head. “But I am also thinking in the way you are thinking and hoping a little that I am not the daughter of that Dibbu and the resemblance is coincidental. I am afraid that I will be convinced myself that I am his daughter if I read that book.”
“You are right.” John sighed heavily and said “I just don’t know what to suggest to you now.”
They both remained silent as they did not know what to say then.

“I just don’t know why I have become angry like that. My sister’s sex affair with that rogue was indeed a long time back and there is no mistake of her in being the daughter of that rogue. I should not have become angry like that with her.”
Just in ten minutes after he entered into the room of Rose along with her, there has come complete change in Williams. He started feeling so much of regret!
“There is John also with her. What he thinks and how he behaves with her now, I just cannot understand! By knocking me down also with a rod, you should have stopped me from going to her and talking like that.” Williams looked into the face of Rose with little anger.
“You don’t worry too much about it. I have foreseen a possibility like this and talked with John and prepared him already to it. Early in the morning you do go to them both and say sorry. Both of them are quite understandable and you know how much love and affection your sister has on you.” Rose put her right hand around his shoulders and squeezed gently.
“But there is no guarantee at all that I don’t behave in such a way in future.” With a fearful expression in his face Williams said.
“It is all because of your uncontrolled anger on your mother Will. You just have your uncontrolled anger on your mother and because of that you are feeling in the same way on your sister also. Until you forgive your mother with whole of your heart, it may happen in the way you are feeling fear” Rose said. “Just try to understand her and forgive her. That gives peace to your mind and you don’t behave in an uncontrolled way in future.”
Williams closed his eyes for few seconds, suddenly opened them and looked into the face of Rose. “There is only one way to do it Rose. I have to read the book she has written. That may give me an insight into her life and I can understand. Give that book to me in the morning itself and I start reading it.”
“No Williams” nodding her head in negation Rose said. “I just don’t know what she has written in that book and what type of influence that would have on you. It may make the situation even worse. First I read that book in full and if I think that there is no problem even you read it, I do give it to you.”
“Not at all so Rose” Williams removed Rose’s hand and got off from the bed with a force. “That is the book written by my mother. I should read it first before anyone else. Early in the morning you do give that book to me and I start reading it. You promised at your sister that you do give that book to me to read, have you forgotten?”
“But Will.....” Rose tried to say something.
“You should do in the way I said Rose, you have to.” There was firmness in the voice of Williams. “I must read the book first as soon as possible, that is all.”
“Alright then.” Rose nodded her head. “I do give that book early morning itself to you.”

“I am sorry. I am absolutely sorry for my behaviour last night like that with you Jasmine.” When Williams saw Jasmine sat in the chair in the hall, he went straight to her and said that. “I just don’t know why I behaved like that. It is something that you cannot excuse but as I am your loving brother you must.”
Jasmine got off from the chair, put her right hand around his neck and kissed smoothly on the right cheek. “Is there any necessity that you need to tell me that you are my loving brother? Don’t I know how much of love you have on me?” tears were flowing down on the cheeks of Jasmine. “I became so much despaired when you remained mildly mad like that. With the grace of god and with the help of your psychiatrist wife Rose, you became normal again. That is enough! These types of outbursts may happen occasionally and I don’t mind them at all. You don’t worry about it at all.”
“What a good sister I have got!” Williams smoothly relieved from the hold of Jasmine looking into the face of her. “But John as well with you then. How he took everything of that and how he is feeling now I don’t know. Really I behaved very damagingly at you and him yesterday.” Suddenly there was fear in the face of Williams.
“I can understand you better than your sister do Will, no damage has happened because of your behaviour yesterday.”
Both Jasmine and Williams listened to that voice and turned back just to find John standing behind them there.
“And I love your sister more than you do and I never get angry with her whatever she might do and whatever her life might be.”
“What a nice person you are!” Williams went near to him and hugged him. “My sister and I both are very much fortunate that she has got you as her husband.”
“Al l the disputes settled it seems.” Rose came near to them with a smile on her lips and said. “From the last night itself Williams has been worrying very much for his behaviour like that with you Jasmine.”
“There are no disputes whatsoever to be settled in fact.” Jasmine laughed and said “I know that he worries like that once he got rid of his emotion and it happened just like that.”
“I think you do remember your promise Rose.” Looking straight into the face of Rose, Williams said. “You have to give that book to me now itself to read.”
“That wretched book you do mean Will? You want to read the book written by our mom?” looking into the face of Williams with a shocking expression in her face, Jasmine asked.
“Yes, that very book I want to read.” Williams looked into the face of Jasmine and there was a determined expression in it.
“But brother in your present condition it is not at all wise that you read that book. We just don’t know what despicable things our mom has written in that book.”
“I should read it Jas. I cannot be peaceful until I read it. I don’t know why but I am feeling too much to read that book.” There was the same firmness in his voice.
“Alright Will, I permit you to read that book.” Rose said “But you have to read it only in my presence.” Her voice was also firm.
There was few seconds silence during which frowns gathered on the forehead of Williams insinuating that he was thinking seriously. “Alright. As you said.” Breaking that silence he said suddenly.
