Alex's POV
I woke up with someone's arm around my waist. I looked around and saw the person was Mason. I moved his arm and he turned over, taking all the cover with him. I stood up and walked downstairs. I got onto Mason's laptop since it was on the kitchen counter. I pulled up the site that has penthouses for sale. I was searching through the site until I found a perfect one. I heard yawning coming from the behind me. I turned around and saw Mason making two bowls of cereal.
"I made you a bowl", Mason said and passed a bowl of Lucky Charms to me.
He sat down next to me and started eating. I ate some and kept looking at this one penthouse that stood out.
"Found a place to live yet", Mason said
"Yeah I'm thinking about this place it has one bedroom, bar, lounge, and a living room"
This place was nice plus it isn't in a bad place in town. It's only 12 blocks away from the school.
"Then get it but I'm visiting every week", Mason said
He finished his bowl of cereal and started eating mine.
"I'm fine with that but now I'm going to need to get some more clothes. All my clothes Leon brought is at Jamie's place"
"After you buy your penthouse then let's go shopping", Mason said drinking the milk.
"Wait, why you hate shopping"
"Because then I can leave my wallet at home and you can buy me food at the food court", Mason said putting the bowls in the trash.
I clicked the 'sold' button and now that place is mine. I can get two of my cars and a motorcycle delivered to my new place. So I don't have to walk 12 blocks to school and back.
"I brought it and can you drop me off there after school"
"Yeah but you got to pay gas money", Mason said drinking some coffee.
"How much"
"$200 dollars", Mason said
"Gas money does not cost that much"
"It does in my book now pay up", Mason said
"Let's make a deal"
"I'm listening", Mason said
"I give you 10 dollars because I just spend half of my money on the penthouse"
"How much", Mason said
"2 thousand and some change"
"Okay how about this I drop you off at school and take you shopping then let you go pick you one of your cars to drive. But at the mall you have to buy me as much food as I want", Mason said
Okay, that sounds good but where am I going to get a job. I could go back to street fighting but the rent there is $350 and streetfighting should be able to pay for 350 but what about my food and clothes. I'll need another job I could get a job at a bar but I don't work for anybody. I could go back into fixing cars that should be able to pay for food and clothes so yeah. My jobs can be streetfighting and fix cars.
"What you thinking about", Mason said poking my cheek.
"Nun"
"You sure you got that thinking look", Mason said
"I'm thinking about what I'll do for work but I got something"
"Alright", Mason said
"Hey you got some joggers and a shirt I can wear to school"
"Yeah look in my clothes and hurry down before you're late for school", Mason said
I ran upstairs smiling that I got at least one family member back in my life. I changed into his clothes they were a little loose but not too big. I came back downstairs to see Mason eating again but this time some bacon. I hope it isn't pork I don't eat pork food.
"It's turkey and I made it for you come and eat you're going to have to eat more", Mason said and I grabbed the plate of bacon.
I finish eating it and threw the plate in the trash. This guy must really not like to clean everything is either foam or plastic. Wait I'm going to need some cooking stuff, food, bowls, plates, spoons, forks, and other stuff.
"Hey let's go", Mason and we walked out his penthouse into his car.
He started driving and I just realised something I don't have a bag to carry my books in. I guess I won't be carrying any books. Mason stopped the car at the red light and Mason turned and looked at me.
"Look for this car when school is over and if you're thinking about leaving school early call me", Mason said and started back driving.
He stopped again but this time at the school. Meadow High School already had kids walking around in the parking lot. Then I spotted a Cadillac truck across the parking lot and Leon was driving it. Mason parked the car and I got out and ran into the school.
I really wasn't looking where I was going and ran into a wall. But at the same time, I don't think it's a wall it's warm. I stand up and see Leon standing there. What is he doing on here? I step back and behind him is Xander, Tyler, Simon and Arnold standing behind him. Leon just looked at me and I just stared at him.
"Hey Alex where you been", Xander said
Then I remembered something Leon said to stay away from him and his sons so I'm just going to do this. I just broke away from the staring contest with Leon and kept walking down the hall to my locker.
"Hey Alex where you going", I heard Tyler yell.
I opened my locker and took out my chemistry and calculus book. I walked into Ms Williams room and sat down I put my book on my desk and she walked in. She closed the door after the last student comes in and starts her lesson.
"Today we're going to learn about stoichiometry does anybody know what that means", Ms Williams said
"Alex do you care to tell us", Ms Williams said
"No thanks I'll pass"
"You sure I read up on your test scores from London and you made perfect grades in all your classes so you sure you don't want to answer my question", Ms Williams said
Really I know I made A's in all my classes I am I smart person. But I'm lazy person too.
"Alex what is stoichiometry and if you don't answer you and your classmates will have to write a one-paged essay on stoichiometry", Ms Williams said
"Stoichiometry is the relationship between the relative quantities of substances taking part in a reaction or forming a compound, typically a ratio of whole integers", I said and sighed.
"You have a project do on your partners learn about them", Ms Williams said and her door opened.
"Miss Williams you have a new student that will be joining your class", Mr Smith said and pushed Xander into the room.
He looked around the room and just stared at me. He sat down next to me and Ms Williams continued talking about the project.
"Hey Alex", Xander said and I just lifted up the chemistry book.
I opened the book and stuck my face inside it.
"Alex I know you're not reading why won't you talk to me", Xander said
"Students your partners for the projects are sitting next to you and if nobody's sitting next to you then work by yourself. You may start working on your project today", Ms Williams said and behind her desk.
"Hey since we're partners after school where you want to meet up at", Xander said
"Nowhere", I said and put the book back down.
"Why don't we work at home", Xander said
"Who's home"
"Ours remember you have your own floor", Xander said
"No yours I have my own place"
"Why are you moving out", Xander said
"Ask your dad"
"Class is over you two get outta here", Ms Williams said
I looked around and nobody was in here. I picked up my books and walked to my next class AP calculus. I sat down and students started coming in after me. Mr James closed the door after the last student came in and he went on about the inverse of functions. I laid my head down and someone tapped my shoulder.
"They call you on the intercom they want you in the front office", Mr James said
I stood up and picked up my books. I left the classroom and walked into the front office. Mason and Leon were standing there arguing over something. They turned and looked at me.
"Alex tell him I'm your legal guardian", Mason said
"Tell them I'm your father", Leon said
Now this asshole here. He tells me that hates me and tells me never to talk to him or his sons.
"Who is telling the truth because I need someone to sign this document", Mr Smith said
"Mason is my legal guardian he's my brother and I don't have any parents they died", I said looking at Leon.
"So who is Mr Storm to you", Mr Smith said
"A man who let me stay with him until I was back on my feet and now I am"
Leon just stared at me and Mason had a smile on his face.
"Well then Mr Jackson can you sign this", Mr Smith said and Mason signed a paper.
"Call me Mason I don't like the name Mr Jackson", Mason said and Mason handed him back the paper.
"What's the paper for"
"This document is for your scholarships you have many of them", Mr Smith said
I have scholarships I don't remember having any scholarships from London.
"For what"
"What do you mean for what you're a very smart girl I read up on your file and you are an A student. You make good grades you're in advanced classes and the teachers say you become bored in the class is that true", Mr Smith said
"Yeah it's true"
"So you got accepted into an academy and a good one to the Arts & Enterprise Academy", Mr Smith said
"What is that", Mason and I said in sync.
"That's a school is one of the best charter schools in the city", Leon said
"So what you're saying that Alex is actually smart", Mason said and I slap him in the back of his head.
"Ow, what the fuc-", Mason was cut off by Mr Smith.
"No cussing in my school", Mr Smith said
"Sorry about that but what was that for", Mason said rubbing the back of his head.
"For basically calling me dumb"
"Not my fault but I have a sister that's a genius", Mason said hugging me.
Isn't Arts & Enterprise Academy a school where they teach art and business stuff. It doesn't sound fun but that school it's across the city I'll have to wake up an hour early each day just to get there. Plus you have to wear uniforms in a charter school so nah I'm not going to take it.
"I'll have to pass on that opportunity"
"You'll what", Mr Smith, Leon and Mason said in unison.
"I'll pass I don't to go there I'll stay here"
"You got accepted into another school it's around here it's another high school you have to get accepted into it, though it's the Bark Ridge High School", Mr Smith said
"What kind of business school"
"It's a high school but it has business classes no uniforms and it's not a private or charter school", Mr Smith said
"I'll take it when do I start"
"Tomorrow at 6am", Mr Smith said
