As Jay is driving us, in the red Maserati, through the Italian countryside I'm wondering what seven million gets you. Property wise and land wise. I just hope it's not too modern, I'm a lover of buildings with character, exposed brick and open fires-all of that kind of stuff.

I smile over at him, he's pulled his shades on, as it's bright. The sun is just beating down over us. I learn something new about Jay, all of the time. He springs stuff on me, this Italian heritage thing has been an entire surprise, but I can see it. I slip my shades on and stretch my legs out holding onto Henry over my white dress.

We spent the morning in each other's arms, I've barely looked at my phone. His infectious grin pulling me in and keeping me captivated all of the time. The way he made me eggs on toast again, in his boxers walking around the little kitchen in the villa.

Only he knows what he's thinking and we all just play along. Are we going to be staying here for the majority of our time? Having all of this opportunity, all of these choices yet little control of what he's choosing for us is both thrilling and unnerving. I sacrifice all of my control to him, continuously because he doesn't disappoint.

"No neighbours" I smirk at him, I'll have to broach the subject later. Most likely by then I will have fallen in love with the idea of having him to myself in the Italian countryside, his smile as he looks over at me is just the precipice of how much this means to him.

"Yes" I whisper back at him lapping up his excitement. He's the happiest when he's travelling. He's truly free when he's in control of where we are. Away from the drama, exploring the world with just me. It reminds me of when we visited Aspen before we were married. How he hiked all the way up the mountains with me, made us a fire and we sat there feeling like the only people in the world.

"Well" he says turning into a private slip road which I presume leads up to the property. It's perched on top of a hill, and so far the impression is good. Rustic and surrounded by nature.

The front of the house is everything I could have dreamt up. One single track road which leads to two wooden gates which have been left open, trees lining each side of the entrance. The warm yellow building just in sight. With the windows down as we drive in I can hear the birds, the rustling of leaves as a gentle breeze sweeps through the land.

I turn to Jay and just smile, a beaming grin. Killing the engine we both look out at the grounds. He's parked up just to the side of the main entrance.

"It's stunning" I say simply looking down at the vineyards. The various trees and plants that I'm sure are native to the area.

He returns my excitement as he comes to get my door. I step out onto the gravel in my sandals. Although the temperature is close to 30 degrees today, the breeze just hits this spot on the mountain perfectly.

"Let's explore" he says and he takes my hand guiding me up to the open stone porch. With pillars either side to hold it up and tiled steps. A double door with a rustic feel. Complete with an actual door knocker which we use to alert the agent that we are here.

The door opens and I smile as the agent, a middle aged man answers. Wearing a suit, in a light heather grey, with dark cropped hair. He greets us with a smile. Opening the door wide to expose the hall in the home.

We both nod taking in the hall which already has gained a big yes from me. With its high ceilings and rich painted walls. It's light and airy, lots of natural light coming in from the windows. Wooden beams on the ceiling, in keeping with the natural finish of the place.

"This is an eight bedroom farmhouse, including the land which amounts to an impressive 125 acres. Including a vineyard and an outdoor pool with terrace. There are plenty of little spots here which you are going to adore" he smiles at us as he walks us through first to the kitchen. It's the heart of any home, and I just cannot wait to see it.

As I suspected the kitchen doesn't disappoint. With exposed beams on the ceiling, a feature of the house. Pendant lights which highlight the area and a large kitchen island. The heart of this kitchen though is the stove which is slightly larger than an average double gas oven. It's traditional and it sits well in the room.

Two large arched windows highlight the far wall looking over the vineyard. An eight seater oak dining table situated in front of the windows is in keeping with the light ash wood kitchen cabinets.

Nico takes us into the lounge, which has an impressive open fire. Enough space for a large family and then some. The windows look out onto a terrace which leads down to the grounds.

Set across three floors are eight bedrooms. The first floor which is reached through a majestic staircase features three bedrooms all with hardwood original floor and high ceilings. Each with their own bathroom, and stunning panoramic views over the grounds.

The arched windows have seats on them so that you can sit and look out at the vineyards. I imagine myself reading to our children here and putting them to bed.
