Touchdown at Los Angeles is usually relatively smooth, after a rather long flight, almost twenty four hours I am very much ready to see my family again. Imagining Henry and how even though it's been merely days he may have gotten bigger, how Taylor will embrace me pulling me into her arms.

Standing by the LAX sign I manage to hail down a private car to take me on my journey to my home. Slipping into the black shiny Mercedes I rest my head back and sigh relieved that I have managed to settle a deal in the business and that it is in keeping with my plans for our future. That it incorporates wine, and the production of wine is perfect for our vineyard. Even though it will start out smaller, I know that it has the grounds to get bigger over time with the correct moves at the right time. With dedication and resilience it could thrive.

We cruise through the suburbs my briefcase rested on the side as I undo my tie slightly, ready to become daddy again instead of this man who wears a fancy suit. The bouquet of roses sits next to me as I imagine giving them to Taylor as an apology for being away whilst Henry is so little. I know exactly the smile she will give me when I present them to her and I cannot wait to wrap my arms around her and join her for dinner.

The driver, an older gentlemen with greying hair smiles and attempts to engage me in conversation. He's a friendly driver, and it strikes me that he just likes a chat so I pity him and tell him that the flowers are for my wife when he asks. He rambles on detailing his life story and I smile occasionally whilst thinking in my head about what we need to pack for Italy. The tickets are booked and sorted.

"My wife, we're obviously a lot older now, but we make sure to spend at least two nights a month going on a date" he smiles and I chuckle imagining Taylor with me when we're fifty drinking champagne and eating out in Italy. Henry will be grown, and we'd have several other children all living their lives.

The driver eventually pulls up outside the gates of our home and I smile looking up at cherry tree house, he offers to take me up to the door but I smile and tip him leaving the car behind. Carrying my briefcase and the flowers I stroll up the lane that leads to my home here in California. It is a walk that allows me to clear my head of the business and to become daddy and husband Jay again.

Emerging from the trees, eyeing up my car parked over by the water fountain and Matthew's four by four alongside another car. A Chevy truck which I don't recognise, it peeks my interest as I walk past it wondering who might also be visiting us. It's not Rachel and Chris, he drives an Audi and well Rach doesn't drive at all. The news of their engagement doesn't surprise me in the slightest. Sometimes when you know, you know and I got the feeling that Christopher knew exactly what he wanted and found it in her. I was waiting for it to happen if I'm honest. I only anticipate the shrill voice of Rachel as she goes on and on about her engagement to him. Over and over again until her face turns blue.

Christopher however has knowledge on distribution. That will be a useful conversation for us to have together once we’re in Italy. It may just cement a few things in place for him too, and I look forward to discussing with him, over a brandy and most likely my wife’s five star cooking.

Pacing up the marble steps before I reach the large door and let myself into our hall, hearing laughter and chatter from the kitchen. Taylor's voice enchants me from afar and I yearn for her already, it's nice knowing that she will not even be expecting me and that I will be a surprise when I stride into our kitchen roses in hand. The music echoing through my hall as I shake off my blazer and refrain from calling out honey I'm home.

The company is a pleasant surprise as I take in Rhea helping Taylor to cook, they're hand making pasta and instantly I smile watching my wife before she has even realised I'm here. Wearing a black dress that drapes down her back and clings over her hips, as she chuckles having a glass of wine and twisting the pasta out into shapes. Her hair flung over her back. Matthew eyes me nodding as if to say welcome home, as I spy him feeding Henry a bottle and thank him.

Taylor turns and gasps instantly, her eyes darting from my face to the flowers and back to my face again. Unaware of how I managed to ever obtain this woman and get a reaction like that astounds me. I had always imagined that I would work in business and that I would travel, yet I never would have guessed that I would have a wife and child to come home too. Yet now they are the reason for my work, they are my reason to return home.

I grin as she paces over to me almost winding me from the embrace she gives me throwing her arms around me. Rhea smirks and I nod to her as Taylor holds onto me, flowers in one of my hands and her body in the other.

"Thank you" I reply honestly. I hold onto Henry, even though he is sleeping and I could place him down for a nap in his bassinet. He's my first born son and I have longed to hold him for days. He purses his lips and I look down at him occasionally smiling.

The scent of tomatoes, garlic and herbs fills the kitchen as the food comes into fruition. The dough balls that Taylor bakes so well are placed in the centre of the oak table. Henry stirs and as Matthew, out of habit, begins to move I smile over at him and grasp a bottle of breast milk warming it up and getting it ready for my little baby.
