Jay is good with travelling, the whole thing. He books it all, packs everything and handles everything. We're back at Sydney airport and even at 2am it's still hot. I feel like we haven't been able to catch our breaths since we got the news. We have both sworn to visit our lodge in Tasmania again before the baby arrives. I already miss hearing the lake when you open a window, the blue sky and the mountain backdrop now feel like distant memories.

Jay has been extra vigilant and protective of me, he keeps my hand in his the whole entire time that we are travelling. Being cut off from the world has been a luxury, that I never fully appreciated until I was right slap back in the middle of a busy airport. Which even in the middle of the night is full of people and noise. Constant alarms and beeping and chatting. I stick close to Jay as he deals with everything and everybody seamlessly.

We touchdown and the plane grinds to a halt. Once the safety belt sign goes off I unbuckle and stretch. Being in LAX again is oddly comforting and it's like I'm counting down the minutes to see if Ross is okay.

Jay hails us a cab back to Cherry tree, our main home based in California. The second the cab approaches our iron gates I get excited, seeing the gardens and circular waterfall in the driveway. Our cars still parked out front. Remembering how excited we felt just before leaving for Australia for our wedding.

I step out of the cab clutching bump, the sun is bright and I've got my sunglasses on however it's not searingly hot. Jay carries all of the luggage back into our home and when I approach the front door he smiles watching me.
