The next two days go by relatively quickly. The sun returns, it’s weak and by no means warm but it still shines on us every morning. The leaves are almost fully fallen marking autumn. Matthew and I get ourselves into a routine with university. I continue sitting with Ross and Jay, in psychology. It seems everybody is sticking to the seats they've already chosen. I don't want to make a big deal out of everything either. Jays behaviour has changed towards me almost entirely, but I’m not going to sit around and pick apart every single interaction we have with one another yet he is certainly less cold. He greats me with a hello Taylor, every time I sit down next to him in psych class.

Ross continues to walk me to dance every day, like he’s a stand in for Matthew. At least he's not turning up at practice. We haven’t mentioned Jen once, I consider the conversation closed. Instead we talk about books, and his English literature observations. He's testing the boundaries trying to see if I will tell him to leave me alone. I won't, I can't seem to. I tell myself it's just walking around campus, it's not like I’m promising him anything.

We descend from the lane with the pretty trees towards the parking lot and head into the refectory together. Noticing the others in our usual spot, including Jen, Ross and I decide to grab salads before heading over.

“A salad” Rachel squeaks looking up at me, sitting in Jay’s lap. I am guessing that they are on again. Ross sits next to Matthew as Jay eyes up my boots and tweed skirt. I remove my trench and set my bag down.

I flush bright red eyeing Matthew, I'm involved in said show. Kim, Matthew’s sister, is a third year at another university and they are hosting a Victoria's Secret type show. With hopefully a few more clothes, although that's not promised. Kraig is playing in his band. And I'm walking, as in actually modelling. I'm totally nervous. But Matty and Kim have given me lots of reassurances.

We descend upon the main building, as a group. Ross shares his cigarette with me. Jay is following behind us with Ryan and Rach. Matty has gone off to the archives to research for his media project.

He shimmies past me and I look directly into his chest before he collapses in the chair next to me. Jay scrambles out his notes and a pen. He pushes his hair back rolls his sleeves back and then glances at me. I realise I've been staring at him and although I'm embarrassed I laugh all the same.

Carter begins his talk and Ross instinctively looks down at me and smiles. It's as if he's checking I haven't run off. I smile at him reassuringly. Although I played it down I'm completely over the moon that he is not with Jen anymore in any capacity.
